There is no mechanism for me to "own" the name of Beebo Brink. So although I was really upset that somone got to it before I did, I was reluctantly willing to pay the price -- literally -- if she chose to sell the name back to me at a rate I could afford. I would rather have paid for the name, or even lost it, than found out that someone was going to use it as their own in another grid.
I count myself as fortunate that Nina was only interested in torturing me for a short while, rather than in extortion or griefing with my SL identity. The outcome could have been much worse if someone else had gotten there first. |
I totally agree Beebo, and I would have been seriously pissed off if my avatar names had been taken. Unless openlife want to base their registration process on the
SL database, I'm not sure there is an easy solution.
