For the record, I fully realize that Nina had every right to reserve my
SL avatar name in a new grid.
There is no mechanism for me to "own" the name of Beebo Brink. So although I was really upset that somone got to it before I did, I was reluctantly willing to pay the price -- literally -- if she chose to sell the name back to me at a rate I could afford. I would rather have paid for the name, or even lost it, than found out that someone was going to use it as their own in another grid.
I count myself as fortunate that Nina was only interested in torturing me for a short while, rather than in extortion or griefing with my
SL identity. The outcome could have been much worse if someone else had gotten there first.
