It’s a long weekend for my avatar and I’ve got a new shop that got me beach ready in a hurry. Lacuna has released breezy maxi skirts and gorgeous toned bandeaux for sunning yourself on relaxing island days that are perfect as our thoughts turn to sunshine and the beach.

I’ve grabbed some older jewelry and accessories from Maxi Gossamer for relaxed, casual style and since the grid won’t let me change skin today, YAY another look at an older release from Belleza – AIKO.

The hair is Wasabi Pills and keeps my pixel neck from sweating.

I am ready to plan with my notebook and laptop tucked neatly into this fabulous tote from BSD Design Studio. The fun and flirty skirt is from the brand new store, Lacuna. it comes in all sorts of happy, stripey color combinations.

Strawberry Singh’s Teach Me Something meme appeals to me. To be honest, I do not do a lot of the memes and challenges because what with all the weekly challenges from colors, to Disney characters, to concept challenges to these weekly memes, a person can easily lose track of their own blogging and become just one more iteration of the various weekly themes. However, this meme is particularly fascinating. I would love to learn about skills people use in their real lives – and get an insight into their interests and passions outside of Second Life®.

In my professional life, I probably spent more time planning than doing. After all, there were lots of volunteers and members for the doing, carrying out the plans we made. I did all sorts of planning: planning for conferences, board meetings, dinners, auctions and other fundraisers; planning lobbying campaigns to pass legislation, planning electoral campaigns for candidates and for ballot measures, strategic planning for long-term growth and development. All these kinds of planning have unique challenges, but there are some core elements that they have in common. That is what I thought I might teach.

I was taking some snaps as I had my breakfast this morning when I realized something amazing about my new skirt from BAIASTICE for The Boutique event that, THE INSIDE IS TEXTURED!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG! I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE clothing with invisible insides. It looks crazy in photographs in certain poses and I never know when I’m going to suddenly have a huge invisible patch that causes me to throw away a photo.

There is rain the forecast, so I’m not sure how to spend my day. Riding dragons, shopping, jumping on mushrooms, my possibilities are endless.

Digging through my inventory you might find a lot more items from Nomine that you’d imagine. Most of them are things I bought some time ago and the quality is too good for me to find a reason to trash outright.

Rooting through my giant closet though, I could not for the life of me remembering buying a skirt there. I was wrestling with something to wear to the Velvet this Sunday for Cajsa’s Jazz set, this week it was Latin Jazz and I figured if I got my look right I might make it a day of dancing. So I put on this skirt and had that instant moment of being transported back.

Flashback two years at my five year rez day party at Rouge. Munchflower, who is the owner of Nomine was there and she handed me this little skirt as a rez day present. It hadn’t been a very good month, and this huge party at Rouge and the outpouring of friendship, some from folks I only knew a little, pushed me onward and made unhappy days happy.

I thought mesh + system + prim might be a fun way to celebrate where fashion has been and where it’s going. And just to prove, there is a reason why I never clean my inventory. I’d lose gems that remind me of such amazing and happy days.

And now if you’ll excuse me, this clubbing girl has to hit the shower and get to work.

I love jackets. I am always on the hunt for a good jacket that will work with other mesh items that have not been made as part of a set. While browsing through Marketplace, I came across this wonderful houndstooth swing jacket from Legal Insanity and knew I had to have it.  I know it would be wearable with other mesh. I did have to go one size larger so that the shirt would not poke through in the back, but I didn’t need to add the alpha to get it to work. This jacket has an array of stunning details such as the black and white edging that outlines the entire jacket and the collar. The single black button keeps it together while letting it fall into the swing that gives it its name. The jacket comes in several solid colors, including many brights, but I love this classic houndstooth.

The top is from NYU and comes in several colors. It comes with the contrasting bow  and has such beautiful classic style. I added the fun high-waisted mini from Maitreya in white, keeping myself to a monochromatic scheme. 

I love how the jacket falls so perfectly. The black and white shoes are from Nardcotic. I like them because they have a slight menswear styling that really suited the top with its menswear inspired fabric.

I used FLAIR nail applicators to tint the SLink mesh fingernails. I am using Hybie’s new PoseBox that she released for Savoir Faire Shapes and Posess.

Second Life is a fantasy world for us all. I’m perfectly thin, I’m blonde again (the color of my childhood hair). My house is never messy and and I can simply log out when I’m annoyed.

It’s a shame then that awesome events like Fantasy Faire sometimes get looked at like “oh if I don’t have elf ears or cloven hooves it’s not for me.”

That’s wrong.  Fantasy is what you make it. There is SO much that’s amazing that slips little bits of wonder even into the wardrobe of a Barbie Girl like me.

I’ve added the doll jacket from Lassitude & Ennui for Fantasy Faire to this vintage Barbie look inspired by new releases by Ingenue and Baiastice. I’m layering mesh which is a pain in the ass. Gidge is normally a small or medium depending on the creator. I’ve put the doll jacket on in size L to make it work. It’s not anything the creators are doing wrong, it’s just that to layer properly, you have to size up as you add on top.

The new Jean shoes from Baiastice are awesome retro throwbacks with socks to boot, and a hud to change out the sock color. PERFECT pairing with this look.

I picked up the 1L fatpack UFFIE from Faenzo, a new hair creator who is at My Attic the Deck this month I think? I haven’t been over there to check out regular releases from them.  The 1L price is a getting to know you release. I picked the bottle blondish tone because, retro.

Yes, I went for baroque, combining a sweater, skirt, collar, leggings and jewelry for a lace on lace style that is as extravagant as it is elegant.  The skirt I have worn before, a favorite of mine from Baiastice. It is just the right length and has a nice high waist to fit well with so many tops. The sweater from h.m.a.e.m. is divine and cleverly comes with the alpha in two lengths in case you want to show some midriff. She made a black sweater with white lace also and I may go back and pick it up. 

Plastik released a mountain of legging/shoe combinations that come with white, black or colored shoes paired with countless leggings from wild florescent brights to neutrals to this elegant brocade.

For the L’Accessoires showcase this month, Lassitude & Ennui made a collection of lace collars with pearls. There are black, white and pale pink options. The earrings from Donna Flora continue the nod to the Baroque aesthetic. They are simply stunning and I know I will wear them again and again.  The hair style is an older one from ploom. I love the retro rockabilly vibe that gives this lace-suffused outfit a bit of an edge.

Skin Fair continues to showcase wonderful skins including this fabulous Rayna from Amacci. This one comes with several lipstick tattoos and a host of other options.

Watching the temperature drop has made me a cranky girl. I want my daffodils and spring days. I am ready now, for winter to be gone and the newness of the world to open up like oxygen to us all.

Did no one tell mother nature?

I realized after weeks of using it that the reason my Niran’s viewer wasn’t doing shadows was because I didn’t have them turned on. That would explain it, wouldn’t it?

So when I turned them back on, I remembered how much I love the shadow boxes Cajsa made.  Maybe we’ll make some more of these, they are fun.

The hair and necklace are from a new Zodiac event, from PLOOM and CHERRY respectively.  I dressed warmer for winter courtesy of BAIASTICE who was good enough to make new shoes that have sock options (I am wearing the socks) and a cute studded jacket with/without shirt option. I LOVE OPTIONS! The less I have to dig for things the better!

I made my way back to Insight Forest, the striking art exhibition space on Visionaria. It’s such a peaceful and serene spot to shoot and turning on the region’s own windlight settings enhances that pacific mood. I wore the new skirt from Baistice. I have shown it before, but this is one of the two-color versions. I added a cream system layer top from LeeZu! The top is very sheer, but it becomes opaque by layering three layers.

My shoes are from Baiastice as well, the lovely Athena pumps with the gold toe cap and heel counter. I probably should have moved out of the bushes, but I have worn them before.

The hair is from DeLa, a nice casual flip that tucks behind the ear on one side. The necklace is from Donna Flora. The earrings are a brand new release from Pure Poison.

The skin is Sevahn from Dulce Secrets for Skin Fair. There are a lot of elements I love about this skin. The makeup is gorgeous, striking and something new. I like the eyebrows a lot. There is one troublesome issue for me and one you will have to judge for yourself in the demos. Ears are troublesome for many skin makers. With this skin, you get the sense that the ears won the battle. However, if you wear long hair, your ears are mostly obscured all the time anyway. At least they don’t have a zit like the ones Gidge was wearing oh-so-long ago. The thing is, I love the face, it’s elegant, with chic makeup. I know all of you have seen this top many times over. When it came out, it was so new and distinctive that fashionistas rushed to buy it, including this one. It was blogged over and over again. That happens when items are exciting and fresh. The thing is, though, that this top has qualities that make it good investment dressing, too. It’s something to hang onto for the long haul, to be pulled out next year and the year after that because it is not only well-made, but it is made to play well with others. The relatively short waist keeps it from conflicting with skirts and pants. The lack of a collar lets it fit with lots of jewelry and even several jackets. It’s a keeper.

Today I paired it with this fabulous new pencil skirt from Baiastice. I love that she put in this soft version of a kick pleat in the back, adding an extra bit of stretch when you walk so the fabric does not get so streched. This skirt was released in five solids, six bi-colors and six leathers.

I dug into the back of my shoe closet and pulled out these old Allegre pumps from Maitreya. I kind of love how its vintage shape suits the neo-retro aesthetic of the top.

The hair from Vanity Hair is all about taking a retro vibe and giving it a modern edge. The Paper Couture jewelry is timeless.

The top and skirt from Tee*fy are emblematic of the New Romance theme at this month’s Collabor88. I could not resist the oh-so-feminine fishnet gloves from Adore & Abhor. They are old, but they are wonderful.

Berry has asked for folks to participate in her Seven SL Facts Meme and as they saying goes, “Let no good meme go unpublished,” so here goes.

1. I own the same 512 sm piece of land I bought back in 2007 when I joined SL. It’s on the Linden Ocean and I will never let it go.

2. One of my favorite things to do in SL is playing in the ocean with my 1L sailboat I bought at Enkythings my first week in SL.

I added the leggings from ISON that are also from Collabor88 and hyper-romantic boots from Lassitude & Ennui.

3. I am discreet. I have gotten into trouble for not sharing a secret because the secret-sharer assumed I would at least share it with my inner circle of friends. I don’t understand that. Tell no one, means tell no one. I am where secrets go to die.

4. While I am a good multitasker in RL, I am terrible at it in SL. I fail completely at multi-chatting and let conversations die because I forget to flip from tab to tab.

I headed out to an old-fashioned diner thinking I would like an old-fashioned soda. When I was a child, it was an 85 mile drive to go to the eye doctor, so mom always gave me a special treat taking me to this old-fashioned diner that served phosphates. I always ordered a sarsaparilla phosphate and just the thought of one makes me thirsty and homesick and of course, makes me miss my mom. I stopped off at the Roadside Diner and I would have ordered a sarsaparilla phosphate, but the jerk was obviously taking a long, long break.

I was perfectly dressed for my diner dining, with a skirt from The Secret Store from the March faMESHed showcase. My top combines two colors of Zaara’s Nina tube top. I love that I can mix and match the tie and the top colors.

My shoes are from Hucci, one of the colors from Hucci’s gacha at The Arcade. Definitely read the chart, because I would never have called this color emerald.

My hair is from Vanity Hair. Called Opium, it has a fun, cheeky retro style. The jewelry is from EarthStones. This is the very first jewelry I bought from EarthStones back in 2007 when I was a noob. I had hunted high and low for jewelry that was not covered in diamonds and designed for a beauty queen. When I discovered EarthStones in a mall, I was so thrilled.

Sometimes I will come across an item in a store that is far out of my comfort zone, but still irresistibly appealing for some reason. That happened when I saw this very revealing and outré bodysuit from Diram. However, appealing as it was, I needed to change it up a bit for me to wear it so I added this adorable mesh skirt from Peqe. I loved how its bold prints contrast with the stripes of the body suit and the interplay of its softness with the bodysuit’s harder lines.

Something so bold needed bold and brash shoes, and the ArchBoots from House of Fox did the trick for me.

This is a very stylized outfit, so I opted for the concept hair from Vanity Hair and the bold earrings from Plastik.

I wanted equally bold eyes, but didn’t want to add more heat, so I opted for the lime green from the new Glam Affair skins for Collabor88. Bold and bright, they are the perfect option for a pop princess.

I will be DJ’ing at The Velvet at Noon today – a Rez Day party for a much-loved resident who frequents the club. What is so amazing about him is that he has never said a word. He just beeps or honks the horn of his car avatar, yet manages to communicate approval and welcome. Most of all he communicates joie d’vivre. He joins in events with gusto, finding super-sized sunglasses for his windshield for the beach event and flower for the Valentine’s Day Party. In this chat-centric world we inhabit, his life as a nonverbal communicator is performance art of the highest level. So, he turns 1 today and we wish him the very best and many happy returns.

Let’s be honest, we all look forward to the 8th. It’s not just that there is a monthly collection of fashion derring-do, but there’s a fascination in discovering how the different designers take the same inspiration and colors and produce so many very different results. This month, Collabor88 doyenne and Sea Hole designer, Drinkenstein Sorbet, was inspired by the warmer climes of India, producing the Pan Bahatt collection. The collection features a sexy, skimpy top and skirt in bold Indian prints and colors. However, coming from a cooler state, I decided to just wear the skirt. It’s strange, I know, but I feel a bit chilly when my avatar is not dressed for the weather. The skirt, though, is a delight and can be mixed with so many other things.

DCNY released the Moto jacket in several colors in plain or embroidered options.

Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn’t bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.

Gos Boutique released an entire collection of shoes that take all the guesswork out of tinting. You will find some problems when shooting with projectors since SL does not love alphas as much as it should. You can eliminate the issue by turning off the ankle sheath in the HUD settings.

As I am typing this a flock of geese are honking overhead and I am wondering what they think they are doing. It is January, weeks too early for them to be heading north. I hope it is not a harbinger of an even warmer summer. That reminds me of a song on Donald Fagen’s recent album. The chorus goes something like, ” They may fix the weather in the world, just like Mr. Gore said. But tell me what’s to be done, Lord, about the weather in my head.”

Thankfully Second Life lets us find any kind of weather we want. With the geese outside making me think of spring, I set out to find banks of flowers and found exactly what I needed at The Garden, the lovely sim with a quest game. I didn’t do the quest this morning, but I did find some flowers and stretch and enjoy the sun. Certainly my clothing is perfect for a sunny day with the flirty little skirt from Tee*fy that I picked up at Collabor88. The top is a brand new release from MiaMai and combines casual comfort with great design details such as the draped top, pleated front gathered with the tiny bow. My pumps are a new release from Nzuri.

I dug out this fun and playful jewelry from Violet Voltaire and chose a fun mop of hair from Truth. See how delightfully the bow gathers the bodice?

Come September, I shall be moving even further from my beloved Maine.  My husband and I will be traveling back to Tennessee; to be closer to our family.  So, for now, my longing to take a walk through the snow at twilight is only a click away…on the many beautifully landscaped sims of SL.  Tonight, I strolled around the gorgeous sims of Winterfell.  An enchanting place to wander and enjoy quiet reflection.

It’s true, all that glitters is not gold. Sometimes it is bronze, silver or platinum. And sometimes it is a bit of all at once as in this gorgeous top from Fashionably Dead. The peplum top is available at Collabor88 where the theme this month seems to be proving that glitter comes in every color. I dressed it up with the bottom of the Kamille dress from Countdown. One of the advantages of combining mesh with system layers, as Countdown has, is the ability to mix and match which makes me happy.

Frankly, when something glitters as beautifully as these bronze shoes from Deco, there is no need for gold.

I added some big statement rings from Miao and Donna Flora – that glitter in all sorts of ways. The ring on my right hand has a color-change touch script that lets it glitter an entire rainbow of color.

I also wore the Eva set from GeWunJo proving that even brown glitters. My hair style also came from Collabor88. By D!va, it may not glitter, but it shines. I love its naturalistic wispiness.

My skin is Sophia, the newest skin line from PXL Creations.

It was a busy day at the office yesterday. My To Do list was a mile long and I don’t think it got any shorter by the end of my day. Fortunately, Cajsa has put up a lovely new office at Glookbone so at least if I have to sort through the work part of my SL I have a pretty place to do it.

I would’ve gotten more done, except I kept playing with the light as it came through the windows and having fun moving all the shadows around. Our new office is as much fun as a photos studio, I swear it is.

Of course I get a bit day dreamy and that doesn’t help me get anything done either. Staring off into space is one of my talents though.

I don’t know about these stools, my big butt barely fits on it.

One of my TO DO list items I DID get accomplished was to try on a NEW skin from ADAM N EVE. Skin collectors will want to run over and give them one a demo because as always, it’s a beautiful body and the face is very pretty. She’s got a very well groomed, elegant look to her, I really adore it.

One of the reasons MadPea’s Carneval is so successful is the sound. With ominous mutterings, sussurating winds and voices crying out the sound adds to the atmosphere and adds the element of surprise that can startle one. They are not technically crying in the wilderness, but I am taking liberties with language today. I was well-prepared for the cold, blowing winds of the Carneval with my new Winter hair from Truth, complete with a winter scarf that changes color using a HUD.

I was not prepared for the ghostly shadows that appeared suddenly out of nowhere. I reacted with alarm, but I think the ghost was scared away by color. After all, his world is all black and white and there I was in a riot of pink from, oddly enough, Pink Outfitters. The lovely striped Lulu tube skirt comes in a rainbow of colors as does the Victoria lace jumper I wore with it.

I added these fabulous gradient tights from Izzie’s that are a beautiful ombre from light to dark pink and then finished off with ankle boots from Baiastice.

The sad thing about most MadPea builds is that they do not last forever. He constantly makes new ones and the old ones disappear, so go quickly. It would be terrible to miss seeing and hearing Carneval.

My busy Friday started with going over to our new office at Glookbone to check out the studios and the build. Cajsa picked up one of the more lovely buildings at Scarlet Creative for our new office, it’s got great windows for pics so I couldn’t resist firing one off. Love the lights through the blinds.

After getting my bearings at the new place, I decided to check FLF for the must haves this week. It’s a good week, but my eye was sharply on the new releases from FLOORPLAN – 1 land impact decor pieces that would be PERFECT in a wee Linden home with few prims.
It was SRSS BSNSS when Cajsa and I had a photo shoot with the lovely Elle Kirshner (who BTW has a gorgeous set in FLF today also if you are looking for decor).

I got home in time for my new pieces to be delivered by Floorplan and decided to unpack some of my artwork that I’ve collected to see if anything really wants to be up on my new walls. Some of my pieces from AE Meth wanted to stay as well as some photos from Maht.

Now, what to do with myself for the rest of the weekend?

I’ve got a full agenda today. That holiday off made it like a Monday all over again. Good grief, I am worn out just thinking of all the things this pixel girl has to accomplish today. But, there was nothing for it but to do it – so I hopped in the car and headed out into the world to cross off my list of to-do’s.

After a quick cup of coffee, I decided I was going to start my day out with some avatar enrichment.  So I popped over to an adorable modern art gallery. I see a lot of Pollack  inspiration but the entire collection is one of various mode and tone in the modern school. It’s a fun location to shoot outside as well, so I recommend taking a few moments, and looking at something lovely today. It’s soul filling. I promise.

And now I’ve got to find my iPhone because Siri needs to tell me what’s next for today. I can’t live without her!

Chic is the word for this Drift jacket. You can see its lineage in the glorious history of Chanel with its short-cropped waist, it’s beautifully tailored fit and the rich wool fabric. The skirt, from CIA Designs, is beautifully made. With its relatively high waist, it will work well with all sorts of tops and jackets. For the With Love Hunt, it is only 10L and comes in red, brown and blue. It is one of the can’t miss hunt items.

New Year’s Eve has never been a big holiday in my family. Most of the day was spent cleaning and preparing for New Year’s Day which was much more important. We always had a sparkling clean house and a feast on New Year’s, honoring a folk tradition that what you experience on New Year’s Day is the harbinger of the coming year. Well, one thing you would not want on New Year’s Day is a hangover! We didn’t make resolutions either. This was probably more the influence of my mother more than any tradition. She always said that if you plan to do something, just do it. If it’s important enough to do, it’s too important to delay until the new year. What we did do, though, is look back at the year and appreciate our good fortune.

Those traditions continue. I have been cleaning today. I am having a New Year’s dinner party tomorrow. And I have been looking back at 2012 and appreciating my good fortune.

This year I get to host Christmas dinner and have been menu-planning for over a week and dithering back and forth between the many ideas rolling around in my head. I know exactly what I plan to make for my first course and second course, but the third course is giving me fits. I am serving beef tenderloin, but folks like a starch with their main course, so I am trying to choose between Pommes Anna, Patatas Aioli or Mushroom Risotto. I am planning on roasted vegetables for the other side dish. Anyway, my shopping list grows and luckily I have a gorgeous clutch to carry it and a handy pen around for reminding me of things I need to buy.

I love my outfit today. It starts with the jacket I picked up a Monso. It’s a lovely autumnal plaid with a shearling lining for warmth. It’s an older design from the sculptie era, but I love it anyway. I added a gorgeous brocade skirt from Baiastice that was released in November. Some might say plaids and brocades don’t go together. They are silly. It looks fab. My shoes are brand new, from MiaMai’s newest release.

Here’s a closer look at the handbag which is from Swallow whose accessories beautiful blend modern and Art Nouveau influences. The handbag comes with a color changing hud so I can wear it in several bold colors and change the metal and lion’s head. Notice how lovely SLink’s purse hold mesh hand works. This has been a long week while my computer was away getting its logic board replaced. They replaced the battery plugin and the bottom keyboard and cursor touchpad as well because they decided they were not up to snuff. I am thrilled to have it back after 5 days of using a 9 year old computer to browse the web. My old desktop is fine for playing iTunes and checking mail, but coughed and spluttered and ground to a halt when trying to look at flickr. In this outfit, I am wearing a new jacket from Baiastice with a Baistice skirt from last month and a black shirt from Kyoto Couture. I love the look of the Western style tie and the black on black with the jacket.

I added simple pumps from Baiastice, not wanting to distract from the rich brocade of the skirt and the fabulous details on the jacket.

A casual updo from Truth, released last week, and these classic earrings from Ryka complete the look. The shadow and lipstick tattoos that accompany the fabulous Kate from PXL Creations make a perfect final touch.

When I was growing up, if I woke up tired, grumpy or out of sorts and complained that I didn’t want to get up and go to school, my mom would say, “Well, you better wear a wake up outfit, then, hadn’t you?” A “wake up outfit” was anything with bright, cheery colors or prints, clothes that could make you smile when you look at it. I’m all grown up. My mother is gone, but on a gloomy, grumpy morning, I will still turn to clothing to lift my mood. I put this on as a sort of prophylactic outfit, hoping to stay up for a good portion of my friend Maht’s mahrathon for Heifer International. Of course, my computer did not cooperate, crashing constantly, so all it’s wake up powers went untested.

The “wake up” power begins with the delightfully whimsical retro print skirt from Plastik. This Misfit skirt was produced in thirty different styles. Thirty! That gave me such a moment of fellow feeling with Plastik designer Aikea Rieko. You know that feeling when your are making something and it’s working so well, you just make more and more and more. Even better, Rieko has set up a Christmas gift board with 109 items that can be purchased for gifting.

With the lovely hat from Bliss Couture and the sleek pencil skirt, everything about this outfit is so very chic, but the polka dots and the bright cherry red point me toward rockabilly. In fact, RC Cola and a Moon Pie ran through my head the entire time I was blogging.

You can get some fabulous wardrobe basics for just 10 L at DCNY for the With Love Hunt. This ruffled top is packaged with four colors – black, grey, taupe and tan – and comes with ruffled cap sleeves that I removed to wear with the jacket from Hucci. The jacket has classic styling and was offered at Collabor88 earlier this year. The skirt is out now at faMESHEd and is from NYU. It comes in several bold colors.

I love coffee and I especially love a super-strong espresso latte. I used to live right across from Grand Central Bakery where they made amazing pastries and fabulous lattes. However, their latte expertise was highly developed for me. Whenever I ordered a latte, their barista would ask, “Dry or wet?” and I would stand there confused by my banal assumption that a latte would by definition be wet. It turns out that there is a difference. A wet latte has more steamed milk than foam while a dry latter has more foam than steamed milk. Funny thing, though, I cannot really taste the difference.

The Bows Have It Today: From the ruffles on the blouse to the obi-belt on the skirt to the little bows on the Ingenue shoes, today’s outfit is brought together with an emphasis on bows.

Yves Saint-Laurent once said, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.” The Ingenue pencil skirt I am wearing is a testament to that truth. Introduced by Christian Dior in the 1940s, the pencil skirt is over seventy years old. The details, though, are what make this pencil skirt serve both fashion and style. The row of small round buttons up the banded high waist are the kind of details you look for when you want something fashionable and eternal.

Speaking of details, the top I am wearing comes from a dress released by Les Petits Details for the With Love Hunt that opens tomorrow.  The French Dress from LPD has a short mini-skirt and a fabric bow, but I was in the mood for something longer and sleeker.

The MiaMai Lily shoes also feature one of those little details that add up to great style. With three little bows on the counter, Lily is a delightfully feminine and dressy little pump. I love how the bows reflect the rows of ruffles on the neckline and balance the outfit.

I am wearing the newest updo from Lelutka. It is called Electra and has such a delightfully relaxed style with the tendrils of hair making a halo around the head.
