Flat Ebbe Linden Meme

After I did my Flat Rodvik meme last year, I knew as soon as I heard that Linden Lab has a new CEO that I was eventually going to do a meme about him. I did make a Flat Ebbe this time as well, but I didn’t take him around the grid on a date. […] The post Flat Ebbe Linden Meme by Strawberry Singh appeared first on StrawberrySingh.com.

I met Ebbe Linden!

(SLurl to A Petrovsky Flux) Friday Find: A Petrovsky Flux There has been a lot of buzz about this sim recently all over twitter and some travel blogs that I felt compelled to go see it myself. I first heard about it through Ziki Questi when she blogged about how it may eventually disappear. So […] The post I met Ebbe Linden! by Strawberry Singh appeared first on StrawberrySingh.com.

Linden Lab and OnLive have just announced SL Go by OnLive. SL Go by OnLive is the first Second Life mobile app viewer that enables you to experience Second Life on your Android device over a 4G/LTE or wireless connection. Because SL Go runs on the OnLive game platform and is rendered on their servers […]The post SL Go by OnLive by Strawberry Singh appeared first on StrawberrySingh.com.

Second SLoth

I want to do a lot in 2014, but I was feeling sluggish after the holidays. So, we (read: me) at the extremely diversified Thorne Industries have developed something new to help give me the get-up-and-go I need to achieve all of my goals:  Virtual Zing! energy drink.

As you can see, I keep it well stocked so I never run out.

Flavored with fresh squeezed, SLorganic prims, VZ! gives you the energy and make believe nutrients you need to power your virtual life. But, we make no promises about not crashing hours later because... we do not know your computer specs or internet provider. Also, it does not give you any sort of wings - because you can override no-fly zones on your own.

If you are SLothful in SL, you should drink some Virtual Zing! Virtual Zing! VZ! Are you suffering from:

Kitely – Time to fly to the Clouds?

Inspiration:  Putting the dog to sleep – The Antlers @ YouTube _______________________________________________________ I have been following the Second Life / Linden Lab Terms of Service debate quite closely.   The fact they have expanded their remit far beyond what we, as creators, have ever contented with previously – has created a level of concern for me personally but combined with a pragmatic view – that surely this doesn’t mean “this” or “that”?  Speculation has been in many mediums from forums through to bloggers.  Recently a legal panel  met and shared information which  actually made it clearer (and more concerning!).  Helping creators to understand the landscape in which we now operate when releasing our products onto the Second Life platform has been eye opening. The reality is, are there alternatives for creators out there?   To date, Second Life does not have competition that is in position to take their consumer base on board.  … Read the restClayRender(c)CharlotteBartlett

Berry’s Monday Meme – Love From Mr Jefferson

This post is going to be a totally indulgent circlejerk, I give you all prior warning. Plus I’ll probably get caned by Berry for using that term on her blog. I’m really looking forward to seeing where we get linked, and how perverted the search terms will be that come up in the site stats. Dream Ream

Look what I made! I needed some and couldn't find any. Apparently, there aren't any good office supply stores in SL. At least I couldn't find any. Thank heaven that you can still make a thing or two in SL with the building tools. Of course, with the current state of the Second Life TOS, I have to assume that Linden Lab will now steal my ream of paper and sell it on Amazon.

In other news, if being able to see my ream of paper in person doesn't compel you to join the Home Decor Tour, then I have no idea what will.

SecondLife.com – Fall Fashion

I was really surprised and happy when Linden Lab approached me a few days ago and asked me to do a fall fashion picture for the SecondLife homepage again. I thought and assumed they had stopped that program but I’m happy to see they are getting back into it. I hope in the future they […]The post SecondLife.com – Fall Fashion by appeared first on StrawberrySingh.com.

Did someone say ‘baking’?

I heard someone talking about some sort of baking coming to SL this week. And something-something about sunshine. Which I am pretty sure means that you have to serve your baked goods outside so that you don't get crumbs in your keyboard. Thanks for thinking of that, Linden Lab! (I just wish they had though of this before I bought my washable keyboard.)

Apparently, this baking will also have something to do with seeing things better. Or faster. Or both. I wanted to do my part, so I baked some cookies!

I'm hoping that this baking/sunshine thing-a-ma-bob will make my husband Jerremy's SL experience more enjoyable. We are in a mixed marriage - different graphics cards. Now, maybe we'll be able to come to an agreement about how to incorporate both secular and religious holidays. Oh wait. I might be confusing that with something else.

A mixed graphic cards marriage is tough. For example, we went to the zoo a few days ago and Jerremy couldn't really see the animals.… Read the rest

Breaking SL10B News: Sims open until June 29!

Good evening! I'm Tymmerie Thorne reporting live from the Time Capsule at SL10B where we spotted founder and former Linden Lab CEO, Philip Linden! (I think it's him. Was he always so ...so... primmy?) We asked him to take a break from manning the exhibit and speak with us about the birthday festivities.

Reporter: The theme for this year's birthday celebration is 'Looking forward, looking back' - what does that mean to you?

Prim Philip: Is it 'Looking Forward, Looking Back' or 'Looking Back, Looking Forward'?

Reporter: Hmmmm... I keep getting them mixed up.

Prim Philip: Me, too. I get confused because if you look back after looking forward, you have to look forward again to get anywhere without tripping, But if you look back, then look forward, you should look back again to make sure nothing from back there is sneaking up on you.

Reporter: My producer is telling me it's forward first, then back.

Prim Philip: I tried to get them to make the theme 'Look left, look right, and then left again.'

Reporter: ummm...… Read the rest

This is the Geekiest Post Ever!

(raw shot from sl) I may have eaten a bit too much sugar and having way too much fun with the linden bear the past couple of days. That’s why this has ended up being the geekiest post ever. But it’s all good, I’m proud of my geekyness. SL10B is just around the corner, the [...]The post This is the Geekiest Post Ever! by appeared first on StrawberrySingh.com.

I met Rodvik Linden!

Earlier today I met Rodvik Linden, also known as Rod Humble in the real world! Draxtor Despres asked me to take a picture of Mr. Linden for an upcoming Drax Files episode. I was really nervous, can you tell? After the shoot, I asked if we can all take a pic together for my blog [...]The post I met Rodvik Linden! by appeared first on StrawberrySingh.com.

Nobody Knows the Troobles I’ve Seen

Did you get your Troobles pets? I did. They are free from the Lab and, well, I like free stuff. You only have until April 25th to get them from Amazon.com, so RUN!!

When I first opened the package and took them out, their eyes wouldn't rez. That made me think that they were from the prim pet outlet store and that was why LL gave them to us. Frowny face. But then, Alicia Chenaux told me to put out their updater (their food) and get shiny, new, sighted Troobles. So, don't forget to do that if you get some!

I'm still not sure why LL is giving us free stuff. It's not my Rez Day and it's not a holiday. Perhaps they're Trojan Troobles and I should be more concerned? I won't look a gift Trooble in the mouth. The only concern I should have is that I let them get up on the furniture.

I'll have to play with them some to figure out what can be done with them. Are they edible? Ride-able? It appears that they aren't breedable; I tried rubbing the mommy and the daddy together, but all that made was static, not more babies.… Read the rest

SecondLife.com – Spring

Spring fever is in the air and it has also hit SecondLife.com. This time I did something a bit different, normally the Lab asks for a shot from us on a green screen, however this time I was a bit sneaky and sent them an image with a background of my preference as well. I [...]

The Top 8 Misconceptions about Second Life

Oh. Em. Gee. Is this one of those 'flying penises' I'm always hearing about??
Cracked.com recently published an article (5 Bizarre Ways Online Gaming is Affecting the Real World) in which SL was discussed. But sadly, the article featured some very old pictures (think 2007) and myths about the virtual, interactive world called Second Life. These misconceptions create a stigma that makes it very difficult for users to admit to RL friends, relatives and Cupid.com dates that SL is one of their hobbies. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to address some of those falsehoods here (You're welcome!):

The Top Misconceptions about Second Life
1: No one plays SL anymore.
Wrong! But, there are only 32 of us. Long story short: it was late-2009; we were at a party; it got late; yadda, yadda, yadda; we got locked in. And they let us stay so long as we don't tell anyone.* Or ask to use the employee restroom.

2: SL is chock full of flying penises.Read the rest

SecondLife.com-Valentine’s Day

I’ve got to admit, I am shocked to see that Linden Lab has already gotten the Valentine’s Day themed pictures up on SecondLife.com and it’s not even February yet! Kudos to the Lab for being punctual! This time I asked my best friend Ms. Zaara Kohime to pose with me. I am so happy that [...]
