Sissy Pessoa recently released a lovely summertime maxi-dress in several colors and three prints, including this bold black and white.

It is a dramatic dress – and a perfect foil for dramatic jewelry.

I chose a lovely grey and black graphic manicure from  FLAIR to wear with it.

The necklace and earrings from Pure Poison for L’Accessoires is bold, graphic and powerful. In addition to black and white, it comes in several other color options including black and gold, gold and black, black and silver, silver and black and red and black. The bracelet is from Uzuri.

It also comes in several sizes to fit mesh standard shapes. Here you can see how well it fits without any adjustments. 

The hair is a recent release from Lelutka and such fun for summer. The skin is Faith from PXL Creations.

And here, this is just because the bold necklace demanding some playing around and having fun, is another photo highlighting that dramatic neckpiece.

It’s Meme Monday everyone! I love Meme Monday and today Berry has an awesome challenge for us although my blog title sort of gives it away so I can’t be all TA DA about it.

When I saw the challenge for today I spent ages trying to think of a movie that sort of related to me. I thought of Pretty In Pink (obviously) and then I went all fantasy cos of the elf thing and thought of Legend and Labyrinth but then I have to admit, I decided on this one because I thought of the perfect hair for it…(yes I know this is a terrible reason and you can judge me all you want!)

My poster is based on Les Misérables  and I have to admit, I think it turned out pretty well. Sort of. I didn’t get the lighting right but hey, most of my pictures are more luck than judgement so I can live with it.

Before mesh, folks often took the top from one dress and the skirt from another and made something new. In my view, one of the unfortunate down sides of mesh is the prevalence of one piece outfits that can not used for parts, so to speak. So, I was so pleased to see the Romantic Rendezvous outfit from Gizza came in parts that I could use to mix and match.

As you can see from the vendor ad, it’s actually a bodysuit  with a ruffled peplum. Produced with a system top, mesh shorts and prim ruffles, it gives the user the change to play. This was particularly great because I was going to DJ some old classic jazz and wanted something more “me”.

So I left off the pants and added a pencil skirt from Bilo. The skirt is a hybrid of mesh and system layers so it was easy to work with. I added some old, but still gorgeous shoes from Donna Flora. The lace fabric tied in so well with the fabric in the top and the black bows bring the color story together. 

As you can see, the little skirt is adorable as a peplum top, too. 

Wanting to bring out the rosy merlot in the top, I chose these lovely rose Rilla gloves from MiaMai.

The most recent release from Donna Flora called Ravesc seemed a great choice with the colors and the floral elements.

I am wearing the “I See Your Jealousy” dress and jacket from Countdown. Look at the amazing texturing on the jacket which fit so well, I did not bother with the alpha. It demanded a stunning avant-garde hat and I dug this SL-vintage hat from Nardcotix out of the closet. Sadly it is no longer available, but you can find great hats in many places now.

Yeah, alright, I admit, I do love taking pictures with other people. It is a nice change from taking pictures of only myself, and it is a bit of a challenge for me to work on someone else. So today I dragged my good old favorite sarcastic asshole Nogard Siamendes with me to do pictures. Seriously, that’s why we became friends in the first place >.> We just clicked as friends, and we still are after all these years. Now if he finds me too cheesy with this lil public affection I’m showing, I’m sure he’ll make fun of me, but whatever :P It’s rare to find people you get along well with in SL for as long as we have.

I had lots of fun editing the first picture, which you may notice, as it’s quite heavily edited (specially if you click on it to get the original size), the other two I just smoothed out a few hard edges and adjusted the colours a bit, so they are more or less as seen in SL.

I was sipping my float on my floatie yesterday and noticed a stranger approaching. I tried to act coy as if I didn’t see him standing there making sure he knew he noticed my new bikini, I skipped treats all winter to fit in. Sandra, my next door neighbor called me crazy for doing that, but look at me now lean and fabulous while she was green with envy eating her apple pie in her kitchen looking upon me and the stranger.Thank that Miss Blue Ribbon with her raunchy pies. ugh I can’t stand that woman. Now…I’m not one to gossip, but I heard she had a thing for some man who recently moved into the neighborhood, remember you didn’t hear it from me.

As I sipped my peach float I took a few glances over at him as cleared his throat to get my attention, he seemed to be walking closer and I flipped on the inside, then….well I just flipped. Right into the pool float and all, I was so embarrassed, and even more so ’cause I can’t swim a lick. Here I am screaming and flailing like a baby seal. I could hear that damn Sandra chuckling from her window, how dare she! I was still the finest thing on 4 inch heels on this block! Luckily this stranger was strong just how I like them, dark haired, light eyes and tan that’d put ‘Coppertone’ out of business. Nude colors!!
Sjeesh, perves! I love nude colors…they are full of win! To combine with primary colors, or just to wear “stand alone”.
When I saw this My Little Beach Dress from La Penderie de Nicole (exclusive Avenue group gift at Zenshi) I knew I wanted it, so I went to this awfully white sim where my windlight always goes bezerk and I usually give up before I buy anything, and excersized my perseverance and found it!! And it’s worth it. I also picked up the My Flat Tie Belt, also from La Penderie de Nicole,  which is not a group gift, but a Zenshi exclusive and matched it with Gos Boutique‘s Lolita Espadrilles in linen.

My usual grey/silver hair didn’t match with this look, so I went with LeLutka‘s Scarlet in Marilyn and I am wearing Glam Affair‘s Cleo in the Europa tone.

Well, I wasn’t going to do the meme Strawberry Singh posted this week because…well because I don’t really have a talent someone else isn’t able to do better so I didn’t think I could teach anyone anything but throughout this week I have seen a few people comment on my Plurk about needing more alpha layers (I blame the new Slink hands and feet for this) and combining them without using photoshop or Gimp or anything else external is something I just taught myself to do so I figured I would share with your guys. So here goes…

(Please excuse some of the crappy graphics on the interface shots. I couldn’t take them at high resolution and so my lashes look a little clumpy. Usually, they are perfect.)

So here are the basics. On the left I am wearing no alpha’s and on the right is me with just the Slink combined hand and feet alpha (Sexy, huh?). Siddean Monro has been kind enough to already combine the foot and hand alpha so that helps us out a lot and she has made the alpha layer modify which is even more awesome.

So first off we need to buy a set of alpha textures which are going to add to the Slink alpha to cut down on the amount of alphas we need. I used Trin’s Alpha Layer Set Pro which is available on the Marketplace for only L$10. Once you’ve got this and unpacked it we are ready to start combining them.

Sooo Glam Affair’s Aida Ewing has created another beauty I’m happy to share with you guys, her name is Cleo and damn is she gorgeous! I thought I’d never wear another skin again once I got my hands on Zara and Margot, but I was wrong! I had to say, Cleo just may be my favorite Glam Affair skin…ever… that’s saying a lot because I REALLY love Zara! Cleo does have something Zara does not and that is the extra eyebrow options like Margot (light brown, dark brown, black, blonde, red) Of course is comes in all skin tones but I stuck by my trusty Europa for this one, I’ll take some raws of the other skin tones and add those in the post a bit later, and also I’ll Cleo comes with a clean version, no make up which is what I’m wearing because I wanted you to see the natural beauty of this skin.

Well, my computer went wonky this morning. Each photo I shot crashed my entire laptop and turned my screen to a jumbled mess of multi colored pixels, so it is off for repairs. Fast repairs, I hope.

Meanwhile, I got a couple snaps of this outfit that features a gorgeous sleeveless top with gorgeous collar points on the collar. The folder comes with your choice of gold or silver collar points (or tips). I chose silver because the belt on the pants is silver, too. Collar points are more common in menswear, in particular Western style clothing. At one time no self-respecting country singer would be found without collar points.

I added the fabulously strong silhouette of these high-wasted pants from Gizza. With the wide, long legs, they have a powerful style all their own.

My hair is from Truth – a new release with a lovely casual style. The skin is another of the special release from Glam Affair for Collabor88.

I am ready to plan with my notebook and laptop tucked neatly into this fabulous tote from BSD Design Studio. The fun and flirty skirt is from the brand new store, Lacuna. it comes in all sorts of happy, stripey color combinations.

Strawberry Singh’s Teach Me Something meme appeals to me. To be honest, I do not do a lot of the memes and challenges because what with all the weekly challenges from colors, to Disney characters, to concept challenges to these weekly memes, a person can easily lose track of their own blogging and become just one more iteration of the various weekly themes. However, this meme is particularly fascinating. I would love to learn about skills people use in their real lives – and get an insight into their interests and passions outside of Second Life®.

In my professional life, I probably spent more time planning than doing. After all, there were lots of volunteers and members for the doing, carrying out the plans we made. I did all sorts of planning: planning for conferences, board meetings, dinners, auctions and other fundraisers; planning lobbying campaigns to pass legislation, planning electoral campaigns for candidates and for ballot measures, strategic planning for long-term growth and development. All these kinds of planning have unique challenges, but there are some core elements that they have in common. That is what I thought I might teach.

Hi all!

So yesterday I saw a blogger opportunity to get a sneak preview of the new GOL, if you are not familiar with GOL it’s a long running house/techno club in Second Life. When they change the build they change the number hence the 9th for the 9th build. The grand opening will be this Friday May 24th!

I’ve hung out at GOL more than a few times in the past year so of course I had to see what changes were made. I have to say overall the build has a upscale feel than the last. As far as the layout it is about the same, entrance into a hallway then you choose left or right to hit the dance floor, but now there is this cute column sort of deal with a sign on it saying the 9th GOL. Also if you were familiar with the last build they did away with the rails and the platform they had when you first enter, I have to say I like it better. Also the roof is still open which makes for a cool atmospheric sky light and there are now photos of different parts of avie’s (shoes, hands face etc) on the walls for decor which was a nice touch I have to say. (raw shots below ♥)

I just wanted to do a quick post to show off these new Color Me H.O.F. platforms. There are too many colors to even count but I love them all. I’m really impressed by these shoes, they may be his best pair yet. You could wear these with practically anything, I paired em with overalls ffs, adorable overalls….but overalls none the less. They come with a HUD that looks identical to the mon tissu and celoe hud if you are familiar with those you are in luck!

Monica from Miamai has been on a roll with the vanity make ups. Gorgeous mesh attachments for your face that you can adjust to your personal taste with a HUD. Eyes, heathers, lashes, diamonds, you choose on or off and the colors and you’ll good to go… or rather, you’ll be attracting a LOT of attention with these make ups.
