Breaking one of my self-imposed rules here – I already blogged this outfit (Warda from Bilo) in different colours for Fantasy Faire. But of the various possible matches for this berrylicious shades in my inventory, I was happiest with this, so… rules are made to be broken!
I ended up on the instantly recognisable Venexia sim to take the photos, feeling like Juliet (yes, I know that Shakespeare’s play was set in Verona!)

Yes, it’s another shot taken from the back – but I couldn’t resist having this beautiful bow from EZ Weaponry in the first shot (along with the gown from Velvet Whip). I don’t know much about combat or weaponry in SL roleplay, but I know when something looks good, and this surely does! It’s called the Guilded Bow of Jie and there’s 25% off at We <3 Role-Play. It comes with a useful looking hud for those of you who know about these things :emb: with sheathed and drawn versions of the bow, and a separate quiver.
The mesh gown from Velvet Whip is 50%, so it’s a mere 100L at the event. It includes snood, veil, and mask, so you could wear it as a Gorean free woman, or else any kind of medieval roleplay. I think it’d be really nice in an ASOIAF setting.
The We <3 Role-Play event opens on May 4 (only two more days!) at 3pm SLT and I’ll post the LM when it opens, but you might already have come across the parcel on a well-establishing shopping sim
I just want to take a moment to mention the skin from Aeva, which is at the special fundraiser, for aevaheartsick, to help Amesha Jewell with the cost of a new computer. She will be participating in future rounds of of W<3RP, but right now she has two brand new skins at the fundraiser. They are all only 100L for each tone of the base skin. I usually wear light skins for this blog, but IMO, Amesha does beautiful dark tones too. Please go and check them out!

Well that wasn’t very smart. When I took the photo for week 17, I completely forgot to copy the outfit list… so the credits will be a bit less detailed than usual. And of course this photo is a bit late, due to Fantasy Faire!
I can tell you the outfit is Simplicity in Sky from On a Lark, and I probably picked it up on one of their fabulous 30L Saturday or 25L Tuesday rounds. It’s mesh, and the outfit includes mesh gown and cape plus alphas, and a modesty shirt if you want to keep all your skin covered.
The hair is Marisol from Truth, and the skin (can’t remember which) is from Curio. Both places have sales on at the moment. Gala Phoenix of Curio will be releasing whole new skin lines soon (hurrah) so her older designs are all half price. This means you can pick up one of her megapacks, containing over 100 skins, for 1000L. Insane, right?! The Curio sale (mainstore only) runs till midnight SLT on May 4.

One of FATEwear’s offerings for this year’s Fantasy Faire this a mesh elven gown… which might remind you of a certain epic movie trilogy from a few years ago.
From the front, this gown is perfectly demure, but in fact it is dramatically slit up the front, so you will flash some leg as you move around.

The Julie Evening Gown was inspired by the beautiful Sylvia Millar from The Real. In one of the events at The Real, Sylvia performed on stage as the gorgeous, sultry Julie London, the event raised money for cancer and Sylvia … Continue reading →

I caught the amazing video for Ellie Goulding’s ‘Anything Can Happen’ recently (I know, I know, I’m so out of the loop). She wears two looks in the video, one of them being a fantastical, grecian draped gown.
I don’t know if it would be possible to create a close approximation of this look as there’s lots of volume and fluid draping, but it was so beautiful and inspirational, I thought I’d have a go at interpreting it, just for fun.

The days here have lengthened but are certainly “still clinging to winter’s chill”. So, while it’s still too cold this Easter to comfortably spend time outdoors, there’s lots of time to catch up on reading and explore what’s new in SL!
The White Armory have just launched a new series of delicate elven gowns, with the first two in the series being the aqua-toned ‘Heart of Grace’ and the blush-tinted ‘Elven Blessing’. Both feature gauzy shoulder capes and an empire line corset/stomacher with overskirt.

FallnAngel Creations – Shirah outfit
Some very quick photos to show you a small selection of the fabulous prizes on offer in FallnAngel Creations annual Ostara egg hunt.
The hunt runs across the two FallnAngel sims (the mainstore and the creepy Sanitarium) until 28th March, and you’re looking for an brightly coloured and decorated Easter egg (no two are exactly the same). Prizes cost 1L, and when you click you buy you can see what’s inside… so sometimes I search it on the marketplace to see what it looks like before committing

Adore & Abhor are celebrating five years in Second Life (congrats!) and they’re having an in-store event with some designer friends. The anniversary special will run till 16 April,
Evangeline Miles of Evie’s Closet has contributed the stunning Cersei gown at a known-down price of 75L. She explains the story behind this on her blog – essentially, this gown was created before the advent of mesh… and then suddenly felt out-of-date. Evie relented though, and I’m glad she did – you can see it’s a stunning gown, regardless of what she calls it’s ‘limitations’.

Tomorrow is the last day of Fashion for Life, so if you haven’t had a chance to explore yet, better hurry! So far, I’ve only managed to check out stores on a couple of the nine sims, and the gacha. The builds are amazing though, so if I managed to get all my shopping done, I’ll also be trying to take some photos!
If you’re a fan of Emo-Tions, make a special effort to get down before FFL closes, as everything they’re featuring at the event has been reduced to 99L. This includes their donation items, such as the Semiramis hair in the photos.

I knew Eater’s Coma had a fab group gift hair, as I’d seen it featured in a bunch of blogs. What I didn’t know was that all their hair styles had dollarbie packs of fantasy colour hair! (Creator Kumii calls the shades ‘funky’.)

This week’s colour is called “New Car” so obviously it’s just begging to be illustrated with a fairytale gown. Anyway
this challenge didn’t take long at all. I opened up my CTS wardrobe page (find out more on the marketplace) and simply searched for items tagged with ‘blue’, and one of the options it brought me back was this beautiful fairytale gown from Deviance.
What’s even sweeter is that with a little persistence you can have this outfit for free, as it’s one of the prizes in the apple bob in Deviance’s basement (there’s a lucky chair there too with silks and fairy outfits, changes every five minutes).

Kouse’s Sanctum – Aranel gown
I’m very happy to see that medieval-fantasy (and more) store, Kouse’s Sanctum, has a presence at The Wash’s annual 10L cart sale… who can say no to a fabulous bargain, especially when it’s one of Kouse Singh’s beautiful gowns?
So far, I’ve been quite restrained and only bought five out of the 12 gowns she’s put out (set me back a whopping 50L, that did). I’ve just photo’d two of them here, but I did grab a couple of snaps of the vendors so you could have a sneak preview before you, presumably, rush off to buy a few yourself!

I threw the proverbial kitchen sink at this one with lots of layering; who would have thought ‘grey’ would be tricky to match?
Never mind, I’m sure that somewhere among the outfit’s very many shades of grey (resisting the obvious pun) there is the perfect match for Outer Space.
It’s already week 8 of Softpaw’s challenge; aaargh, how did that happen?!
Full credits (and a song!) after the jump.

Vigo – Lyanna in raven
If you’ve got some time to kill, you could do worse than check out the mini-mania boards at Vigo, where there are some great black-themed outfits to be won. (I like to think of all that black as anti-Valentines.)
You might need to be persistent though; I found the prize I really wanted elusive. Luckily, my free alt scored it! On the boards are a medieval gown; slave outfit/lingerie set; and men’s assassin or rogue outfit.
