A few hours ago our Queen Beatrix has signed the abdication in the Royal Palace at Dam Square at Amsterdam, making place for her son, Willem-Alexander who as of that moment is our King.
In little over one hour King Willem-Alexander will take the oath in the Nieuwe Kerk and pledge his loyalty to the country and our democracy.
It’s a bit weird, in a way, because we’ve had queen’s on the throne for more than a century, but I’m pretty sure that King Willem-Alexander and his wife queen Maxíma will do a wonderful job representing our country.
One could debate whether it’s right that in our modern democracy, someone is put in such an important place simply based on birth, but on the other hand the monarchy is a strong symbol of The Netherlands and I doubt whether a president would be able to create the same sense of unity that our royals do on days like Queen’s day (King’s day from now on).

Not too long ago I started a new job… Assitant at GizzA. GizzA does not have usual store models, the have assistants that greet and help the customers with all of their problems.

I was about looking for the news at the GizzA Mainstore as I meet an old friend of mine while she was doing her shift at GizzA and she told me a bit about it.

I always liked the idea more of being an active helper that just a quiet mannequin and since I was told they still looking for assistants she directed me to Xii, who handles all the assistants. I know Xii for quite some time and we talked a bit and not too long after I got the job. And I have to admit the team there is amazing. We have so much fun and all are friendly and helpful.

I was very excited when I prepared for my first shift and it still is so much fun to create outfits with all the amazing designs of GizzA. Many of you know me already and know as well I am not the one that just throws on folders. So i was trying to mix and match out of my huge GizzA folder and find some cute and cool outfits.

The one I wanna show you today, falls more into the category cute I guess *grins* – I know.. rare but it happens :p

I started with one of the neewer releases of GizzA, the “Pure Romance Blouse” in satin white. The Soul Mirror

Loki was an immortal, some even thought him to be a kind of evil god. In fact he was a magician who simply stole the life from others. Being a handsome man, he liked the girls wooing over him, wherever he met them. But he did not really care for the women he could have easily. And he could get quite obsessed with the ones that ignored him.

Once, his eye fell on a very pretty girl and he thought her an easy pray for his looks and charms. But she did not fall for him. Always polite, she turned him down. He sent her flowers, he sent her gifts and she always thanked him heartily – but her heart did not warm up to him.

He got mad at every man around her, even her brothers and made their lives difficult wherever he could. But that only made her care more for those who suffered his magical interferences. Loki got so frustrated about not getting his will, he decided to make her his by force.

He weaved a gown from cobwebs and added shiny mirrors made from frozen tears. When it was ready, he went to the girl under the pretext of saying goodbye. She let him in and accepted the farewell-gift. He begged her to try it on and she did. But as soon as she looked into one of the mirrors, she felt her soul being drawn into one of the mirrors. A few days ago Dahriel messaged me if I could put a spring look together real quick, for the vendor of a new set of his poses. The “Giz” poses are a very special pose pack, becasue the poses are very expressive. Today I would like to show you one of the latest releases of Bubble’s Designs paired with my newest pose creations, the “Cool Handbag Set” by Wicca’s Wardrobe. As I put on the “Jackeline” outfit from Bubble’s Design I suddenly had the imagination of a 80′s styling :p

The sheer bodysuit with the amazing belt and shoulder collar that makes this wonderful, sexy and deep neckline in the back , immediately reminded of some of the early madonna stylings. Usually I am not a friend of pink but the 80s sometimes just scream about pink and so I added some pink with the lips, nails and the “Paris Pink Fashion Handbag” from MALT.

Then I looked for some cool trendy handbag poses… I went through all my inventory and I found quite some but all looked kinda elegant and sweet and I wanted some cool ones. So what now… make some!

I went back to my secret laboratory and started to make some poses that would go with the look I just created. I did some research on RL magazines and found a picture that caught my attention and I wanted to redo this in SL.

The question that matters.

Sirena was a young woman leading a carefree life. She had a good job, no worries and the men courted her, though she did not really care for them. All in all, she did not really care for anyone but herself, using the same excuses we all tend to use. “That is none if my business.” “What can I do about it?” or “I don’t want to interfere.”

She lived close to the graveyard and when the weather was fine, she took a shortcut there from the bus home. One evening, she saw a woman on a bench, crying bitter tears. The woman looked at her, but Serena quickly looked away. When she was about to leave the graveyard an old witch – by the looks of her – stepped into Serena’s way and asked straight away “Why didn’t you ask the woman why she cried?” Serena was a little scared and mumbled, I thought she was mourning, this is a graveyard after all. What can I do about her grief?”

The old witch looked at her sadly and shook her head. “Dear girl, you need a lesson in compassion. I hex you not to be able to leave the graveyard until someone shows you the sympathy you denied that woman.”

Serena did not know if to laugh or to be scared, the old woman had disappeared as sudden as she showed up. Serena headed for the exit but ran into an invisible wall. She tried to get out at another spot, but to no avail.

I know that crows are usually black, but as iIwas styling, I wanted to do someting in a brown/nude tone for the HAUTE Magazine (http://hautesl.com/latest-issue/)

The quote out of the movie “The Crow” still was in my mind all the time when I was styling.  I like dark fantasy novels and movies and so many of my stylings have some of those in the back, even if I do not always name them or tell about it.

For this styling I started with the “XXX” dress from LWL. I had it for a longer time but never something came to my mind what I could do with it. With the theme of the minimal colors for the HAUTE Magazine the brown tone matched amazing and I paired the crow theme with some steampunk elements like the boots from Grim Bros and the helmet from Diram. The amazing wings were a gift from Reclaw Inshan, former designer of R.A.D. Together with the leggings from LeeZu and the jewelry from Chop Zuey, the fantasy idea came to live. Cancion de la muerte

Nathaniel had just finished school and wanted to make a trip through Europe before he started university. When he was in Spain, he had dinner in a little bar when he packed for the night, the landlord warned him not to go to the nearby ruins after sunset.

As every young man, Nathaniel did not care for advise and thought the locals superstitious. His curiosity tickled, he thought he might just see them before going to the hostel. As he got there, he started to feel a bit uneasy. Then he heard the sweetest music.
He followed the tune and saw a little girl playing. First she ignored him, playing with her eyes shut, then she looked at him, turned round and went into the direction of the ruins.

He hesitated, but decided to follow the girl. When he entered the ruins he thought he heard moans and muffled screams, but he told himself silly. “When the little girl is not afraid, I should not be either,” he told himself. He looked at the girl again and suddenly he realized what was so weird about her, she was slightly translucent. His heart started racing and he was about to let pride be pride and run, when the girl spoke. “Help us! We cannot live or die because of the music.”

He looked round and saw a few ghosts lingering around, they all seemed unnaturally aged. They all looked at him pleadingly, Mustering all his courage, he asked how he could help. Sometimes you feel casual but still wanna play with the cool kids

It is no secret that my favourite color is black and so I wanted to try a black and cool casual look. The look originally was created for the latest HAUTE Magazine of Leah Mc Cullough (http://hautesl.com/latest-issue/) but I loved the look and the picture so much that I decided to put in on the blog as well At this point thank you so much LovelyMiwako7399 Menna for such an awesome picture

As I made the styling it still was very cold outside, but since the winter seems coming back in germany… it again matches the weather perfectly.

The pants and the jacket come from DeLa as well as the neck- and arm warmers. For the pullover I decided to wear one of my long time favourites from LeeZu.

The glasses I found at Steinwerk and for the hair I used one of the older styles of LeLutka. What I really like are the mesh ears with the tubes that you can get at Mandala and I use them a lot lately for the casual and grungy stylings It really is fun if you try to make a casual simple styling and then you find this accessory in your inventory and that glasses and then maybe a bag… and all of a sudden you are far away from any minimal idea :p.

And now I will go out and see if I can find some cool kids to play with

Yesterday the latest issue of the HAUTE Magazine was launched on the new website (hautesl.com).

Leah McCullough, owner of the amazing HAUTE Magazine, released the second issue of her great magazine and I was asked to make a few stylings, wich were showcased as “WWW” – Wicca’s Weird Wardrobe. Leah gave me the challenge to stay in a black/grey/white or brown/nude color rage and I really had fun doing this looks

I had the great pleasure to work with LovelyMiwako7399 Menna for the whole column and she did amazing pictures

For the first look I wanted to go with a fashion chic spring look. For the basic I decided to go with pants from LeLutka and a top from LeeZu. Then the idea of the hat and the bag came to my mind. It looked like a nice casual look and I wanted to pimp it a little bit and added a part of a Mea Culpa gown, glasses from Izzie’s and some gloves.

The skin is out of the new E-Clipse line of Silken Moon. The tone for this post is the ‘bisque’ and the type would be the ‘canvas’ skin. I really fell in love with the look that has no eyebrows at all. To see all the skin tones I will add the vendor picture mal made for the ‘canvas’ skin type.

The look is more a simple casual one, but especially this simple and clean casual look I liked a lot. The jacket and the jeans are from M.o.w., the wonderful necklace is a tattoo layer, that was made by Malicia Python. For the shoes, I went with one of the amazing designs of Diktator.

For the poses of my own pictures, I wanted to try again to make poses myself. Sometimes you style an outfit and you simply cannot find any poses that express that, what you feel in that very moment and so the best is you try on your own I did not use any outworld program to make my poses I used on of the existing inworld ones, wich I try for quite some time now. Usually I only make one or two poses for my posts, but this time I thought about making a set of 5 to practise a bit more So this will be my first official set called “Casual Jeans”

Today I would like to showcase a few things, that I had for some time already, but never had the idea how to put them together and how to make a cool pic. Yesterday it worked all of a sudden and so I am very happy to share it today

The outfit comes from E-Clipse and is called “Black Carnival” it was originally made for the AVENUE Cinque event. The “Black Canival” caught my attention. I really love  the amazing flexible parts of the legs and the wrists. They make a great contrast to the solid upper body that is covered by an amazing texture together with the beautiful lace part it really becomes to a little piece of art. The huge belt underlines the artistic part even more

The incredible headpiece comes from SoliDea FoliEs and it is called “Love is Blindness”. It has a huge buckle in the back, that holds it in place, while front has lots of amazing gems and an amazing little red heart.

Mirja Mills from Emo-tions has been making some pretty stunning jewelry lately. This one is called Everlasting and isn’t it a gorgeous set? When you buy it you get 3 sets in different colour combinations, this one is Turquoise. I love Emo-tions for their (fantasy) hair, but this is surely an awesome addition to the huge inventory of hair and fantasy/RP costumes at Emo-tions.

Sometimes you just fool around with your clothes and have no direction where it will go to. This happened again to me today. I anyways wanted to sort my inventory and see all the still boxed clothes I got and all of those mystical boxes that have weird names and I cannot remember what they contained :p Such days as well mean you will be able to make your inventory less heavy, as you delete old stuffs or stuff that you maybe never wear again for what ever reason

All of a sudden I remembered this amazing  “Knotted Jeans” from M.o.w. I put them on and slowly a look sneaked in my mind. The cool rock chic, with her bleached hair and the dark makeup. She finished her gig with her band, where she is the singer. She did not wanna go back to the hotel by bus and decided to walk home to enjoy the wonderful spring night.

She still was wearing her white tank top from Maitreya, with she was singing her last song on stage. As it was a little wet still from sweating, the nights not yet so warm, she put on her black “Open Sweater” to not get a cold, as she had more gigs to come this week. Because of the same reason she decided to put on her “Long Scarf” from Maitreya, that she got a long time ago and that squired her, since she started to sing in bands.

Her old, worn “Triumph Boots” from [GOS] are her talisman for so long and you can see that, as the leather looks used and the sleeves that hang down are a little more grey than they should b (Read more...)

Over the last week, Malicia Python, owner and designer of Silken Moon, and me had a lot of fun working on new vendor pictures for her store.

For some strange reason, SL did not let Malicia shoot clean snapshots and so I said, I could do the snaps. The artwork and putting all of those together, Malicia with her incredible Photoshop knowledge, was the way better idea I really enjoyed the time we spend on all those stylings and snapshots.

It was really challenging to style the different looks of the new “Eclipse” line. The first one was the “Urban Look”. Each look has something special and its own makeup color theme. For the “Urban” look I decided to go with the “Urban Asphalt” lips and a combination of the “Urban ES Harbour”, the “Soft Eye Sky” and the “Color Eye Silver” eye makeup from the new Eclipse line. If you take a close look you can see the love for the detail, that Malicia puts in each of her skins – like the right eyebrow is lightly shaved in a very cool way

For the look, Malicia wanted something urban, grunge casual. The tank top from Maitreya together with the  jacket from AOHAROU and jeans from Phoenix Rising made a smart cool look. The “Douche” hair and the mesh boots from Dirty Lynx made the perfect finish for the whole look.
