Isla Gaelach of Cheeky Pea created the amazing MapMe Antigue letters for this round and I gotta tell ya, mesh letters with map roads upon them, badass!  They also come in the non-antique.

floorplan has two items to offer this TMD and one is a must have for all Sci Fi and 80′s fans.  The Flux Capacitor!  It has beautiful detail and it flashes with subtle strobe light.  Also the oh deer wall decor, which I really like, the antlers are just perfect.

Grab a seat in the new Shell chairs from HANDverk, the detail is fabulous.

Not sure what to wear for Valentine’s day, go grab this great shirt/tie/cardigan ensemble from Pumpkin.  Two versions, one with hearts on the shirt and one in plain white.  Go for the hearts, that special someone will love them!

Damien Fate has just released the new Edward suit line at FATEwear.  This suit goes far beyond anything else he has released and that is saying a great deal as he strives already to go above and beyond.  The Edward line contains 7 different looks!  You can wear it in a full three piece suit (shirt, tie, waistcoat, jacket) or you can casual it down to the point you only wear the shirt untucked, no tie.  With every combo in between and an exceptional over the shoulder jacket option (including animation) the dapper dresser has only the limitation of his imagination with this new line.

I’m obsessed with moustaches recently. If you like moustaches too, you should go get this top. It’s mesh, 2 sizes (S/M and L) and it’s only 40L! I love the huge collar, perfect for cold winter nights like in the UK at the moment.
There are 8 designs of this top and there are two other designs on the lucky boards. The store isn’t a new to me one, it’s called RibboN, and it’s one I’ve known about for months but haven’t bought much from. These are the only items in the store at Love Soul (which is where I went) but there are tons more at her mainstore.

The hair is new from Alice Project. It’s pretty funky, it has dreads at the back that you can change the colour and texture of! You can wear it with or without a fringe too (bangs in the American language).

Also, Kyoot is closing so if you want these trousers you should go now, plus they’re on 50L!

Happy Holidays

This holiday season has been filled with tremendous amounts of beautiful and fun festive items for all of us to enhance our virtual worlds with.  By far my favorite is this brilliant collaboration from PILOT creator Kaz Nayar and EXPOSEUR creator Rubystarlight Writer!

I had an inadvertent party yesterday. It started out with me wandering around and telling my friend Codie “I’m SL Food shopping….somebody stop me.” She LOLed because she know’s I’m a dork of the highest order but really, if I’m SL food shopping it can only mean one thing -a party is brewing. I’m just the vehicle, like The Force on a Jedi, I just gotta roll with it when it happens.

Sending out calls to plurk and my FL, Ryker Beck and Harry Gearz were the first to arrive, Ryker was wearing a BEAUTIFUL gown, which she decided was not SL skank enough for the 4th and slipped into this. This caused Harry to question why he never saw jeans like that in RL. Boys are stupid.

But then Cajsa said she would DJ, and whaddya know……a real party blew up.

Once up on a time, Cajsa and I were in charge of events at our friends island. We’d pack it in two or three times a week. We were pretty good at it too. But the best parties aren’t the ones where there is a theme and prize boards. The best parties are the ones where everyone just shows up because they like you.

I asked for this deck to be built just for this reason, for parties. It’s kind of funny to me now that I’ve been here for several months, and this is the first party I’ve held here. I think I’ve been in “changing my SL hibernation mode.” I kind of felt great to get out of it.

Hmmm, I’ve noticed something lately. The nights are getting shorter, the days are getting longer and the breeze is getting less bitter and more balmy…know what that means? IT’S NEARLY SUMMER!

I dress for seasons in SL. Mainly because I think designers release for seasons which is fun and means we are already seeing cute and fun bikini’s being released as well as some fantastic summer wear. I’m very excited about seeing mesh summer wear and it gives me a great excuse to walk around in nothing but my SLink mesh feet. Not that I need an excuse. RezIpsa Loc has released these nautical bikini’s and I’ve always kinda liked having different patterns on bikini tops and bottoms so these made me a happy camper. They come with little prim bows on the sides of the bottoms and at the neck on the top. The new mesh shorts from JANE look great with them and these come in loads of colours and sizes so I think they are going to be a staple of a lot of closets this summer. I can’t do a beach look without wearing a massive hat, proper skin care and all that. This is from Saikin and no it’s not mesh but yes, it is awesome. Hair is from Wasabi Pills which is pretty much kicking ass in the mesh hair department. You NEED to visit if you haven’t yet because you will love it. I promise. channeling our best yes, we *totally are* high fashion models, tyvm vibe!

honestly, the guys surprised me! i figured they’d go for the casual separates… jeans, hoodies, khaki shorts, maybe a few tees? and instead, when they were showing me what they bought, i was taken aback when i saw nicely tailored coats, platform boots, sheer fabrics && perfectly mussed hairstyles.

Spring, a time to wash away the monochrome hues in a refreshing rain of color.  We see the tapestry around us turn from gloomy grays and spark alive with vibrant pastels, reds, blues, and greens.  Flowers bursts forth from the land and paints the rolling hills with  their blooming palette of color.

As the world washes away Winter’s grays, so should we do the same to our wardrobes.  Don’t let the layers bog you down, peel them away and let the colors cover you like they are covering the Spring time season.

Many  make the mistake of dressing too elaborately or too casually to events such as weddings.  There are some key golden rules for such a function.  Do not try to outdo the bride, it is her day, she is to be the most fabulous without a doubt.

If you are asked to dress a certain way, comply, or sit the event out.  When in doubt, go with the classics.  For men, a suit and tie works great.

REDGRAVE just released a great suit that I snatched up for such an occasion.  Though the suit comes with a black tie and black bow-tie option, I added one of my bow-ties from my huge  bow-tie collection, a pair of my favorite shoes and am set to enjoy a special afternoon.

If you do not own a suit, I urge you to get one.  Black and gray are classic colors that you can switch up with different ties and shirts.  Don’t wait for an occasion to arise, that way you don’t have to rush and be flustered, usually resulting in not wanting to go.  Plus, a special date with that special someone makes for a great time to suit up!

STYLE TIP: In Secondlife it is hard to find good hats with hair for men. A lot of times, we have to mod the hat to make it bigger to fit the hair, mod the hair to fit the hat, or just go with out hair in the first place. Here’s a tip for you. Buy a hair that already comes with a hat, in this case I am using MADesigns Boston Style. Once you get the hair fitted to your head, it’s time to mod. Before you do anything if the hair style allows, make a copy of it. Right click and edit the hair to bring up the build menu. Make sure you have the Edit Linked box checked. Select just the hat and size it down or add an alpha texture to the prims of the hat. This tip only works for hair that is mod. I also would not recommend doing this to hair that is no copy.

Well I seem to have got my blogging mojo back and I had one of those days where I got an idea for an outfit and then tried to create it inworld. These are sometimes fun but usually frustrating. Today however, I lucked out.

So I’m thinking glam-grunge? Maybe? Hmmm, well I will think of a more cool and impressive name for my look later but for now I’ll rave about this coat a bit. I had the usual “i want this thing in sl but I have no idea what it’s called or how to search for it” issue with it but then I stumbled across it by accident so yay me! (incidentally the search term I should have gone for was “mod coat”…obviously!) It’s really beautifully textured and it fit straight out of the box too which is always full of win. It also comes with a hood up prim and don’t worry men, there is a male version available too. These jeans are my old staple from *Fishy Strawberry* which I have had for years and have kitted out all my alts with, male and female as they are unisex. They have that “lived in” look I can never get with my rl jeans, annoyingly. The shoes are from *FIR & MNA* and also come in male and female versions so everyone can be happy and the rings which come in the wood shown and a black version for both hands in one pack, are from Needful Things. he’s such a gentleman, ahahah~

truth be told, there was a lot more goofing off with arik than there is with vivienne — she’s so used to posing with me by now that she pretty much knows the entire routine. but arik.. not so much. i had to wrangle him in a couple times (without strangling him, which was a task in and of itself), to save him from wandering off && exploring without me while i’m trying to snap photos!

luckily, he cooperated with me long enough to capture a few pics. ;p

since i’ve been obsessed with the half-rim eyeglasses i picked up from mr. poet not long ago, and have been wearing them almost constantly in world (and in *several* posts here on my blog, too!), i decided to take arik there for a bit of shopping. truth be told, for all the guy friends i have in world.. i don’t pay much attention to “trends in male fashion” or even where some good stores for guy stuffs are. :X does that make me a bad fashionista? …buu~uuut, i remembered that mr. poet was mostly a man-fashion shop && when i actuall (Read more...)

there are more stores included in this week’s flf than i think i’ve ever seen && these 50L bargains are so, so awesome. hair, shoes, accessories, tattoos, poses, furniture, skins.. i don’t think there’s a category not covered in this sale. it is *so* worth checking out, if for no other reason than to give flf one last hurrah!

i’ve packed on a lot of the 50L goodies for this look.. to try && give you an idea of the variety goin’ on: the hair i’m wearing is from clawtooth, the boots i’m wearing are from fir & mna, the mesh purse from maitreya (and there’s a pair of their new alexa wedges in brown for 50L too!), the cardi from fri.day (you get *three* colors for the price!), the tank from whippet & buck that’s actually part of a *50L fatpack*, the tattoo from the habitat, && the eyes and armwarmers and smudged black eyeshadow are from the plastik (these items as well — there’s three color choices and each pack comes with shoes, boots, skins, makeups, dresses, eyes.. omgaaaaahhh! if you only get one thing from flf this last week (Read more...)

Since Kirstens Viewer is no longer available, you guys have been contacting me asking which viewer I’m now using. Therefore I thought I would do a video tutorial of my recent favorite viewer, Exodus Viewer. I’ve been using Exodus consistently since November 10th when I did this plurk about it. I had downloaded it but had some issues getting shadows to run. I found out I wasn’t the only one having this issue. If you read that plurk you’ll see that you just need to disable anti-aliasing and shadows will pop up for you. I’ve gone into a bit more detail about this in the video if you need to see what I mean I am embedding and linking the video below.

One thing I really love about Exodus Viewer is that I can take the biggest snapshot I like (usually 5760×3084) and I will not get any kinds of glitches or weird lines on my image. I have put up a pure raw shot on my flickr here which I’ll also embed a small version of below. As you can see, the image is completely clean and that’s how ALL of my images look whenever I use Exodus Viewer.

Another thing I love about Exodus Viewer is that it actually lets me take pictures without ever crashing using my avatar that is up to about 120K inventory now (I know, I’m bad, shush :P wanna organize it for me? :D)

I got sent the best Christmas present today. Seriously. Brace yourselves ‘cos I’m not sure you can take how awesome this present is….check out…my hat!

IT’S A MONKEY! An Epic monkey too. Know why? It’s from *Epic*. See what I did there? It’s available in a ton of colours and it’s just so silly but amazing you all need to get one. It also gave me an excellent opportunity to wear my new top from d.Select and my new skirt from {mon tissu}. I love pink and brown as a colour combination so any excuse to wear them together is not going to pass me by. Looking at my shoes huh? Can’t say I blame you. These are the release this week for Fifty Linden Friday from *FIR & MNA* and they come in 2 packs, 2 sets of colours in each and male and female versions. Everyone’s a winner. This cute necklace is from .:CoLL:. and it’s a Neverending Story Necklace. The book is scripted to open and close on touch but the pack includes a non scripted version too for the lag conscious amongst us. I think I covered everything but anything I forgot is below.

Gidge has had been having me help around the store, hauling stuff over from the old one, dusting, doing some touch up on the walls where movers scraped the paint and helping with the unpacking. It’s a messy job with lots of running in and out of the building over to where her merchandise was piled up in the snow. It made sense to dress for the occasion in this warm and snuggly fleece from Aitui. I tossed on some old jeans from Zaara that I know are a few years old and all, but hey, when you are bending down and hauling crap around, you need comfortable jeans with some give, the kind of give that only comes from wearing them for a few years, right?

But then she traipses off to ride a pink turtle or pig or elephant or some such thing leaving me to manhandle the last few items into place. Seriously, did she think I could move that globe by myself? It’s Too Big!!! So, I got on the phone, so to speak, and called up Hybie who, good friend that she is, came over to lend a hand no questions ask. She helped wrestle that globe from the crate into the store and didn’t even complain about how cold she must have been feeling in those sandals. She was wearing the new dress from Maitreya. It was the first I had seen it in-world. It so lives up to expectations. As you can see, my feet were far more cozy in these wonderfully warm and dry boots from FIR & MNA.

Oh it’s late and I’m sleepy but I accidentally made a cute outfit last night when I was rushing to get ready so I thought I would share.

So firstly, look at the boots. I mean really, look at them. They are amazing. Utterly. I am so impressed and just wow’d at how beautiful the textures are on these. I know I’m gushing a bit and being all fangurly but I had a really good look at them while I was taking the pictures and up close they are stunning. They are the newest release from Gos and I suggest you go to demo them asap. Ok, moving on this cute cardigan is the latest release from paper.doll and comes in about a thousand different colours and they are all adorable. I’m very into layering lately so I was happy and squeeful about these. I’m wearing it over the Simply Ribbed tank from .: Somnia :. which also comes in about a bajillion colors and is perfect for the layered look. Shorts are from {mon tissu} and well, it’s {mon tissu}, they are bound to be fab. Tights are from d.select and I showed you the winter patterned ones last week but these are also out now and just as spiffy. Bracelt is from *FIR & MNA*, necklace is from :: MOOD :: and anything I haven’t mentioned is below!

Guess what lovelies?! It’s freebie time! I love freebie time, who doesn’t? And these freebies are adorable!

{.:exposeur:.} have released some adorable mitten poses today and what makes them even better is they come with these texture change sculpted mittens AND they are free! As it’s nearly winter and I am rocking the mittens today I decided to get cozy and what better way than with the new sweater release from -paper.doll- called Cozy. This is Plum but it does come in lots of other colours too. I teamed it up with trousers from GAWK! in this gorgeous tweed texture which come with two different kinds of prim cuffs for use with both flats and heels. This scarf was just about my favourite thing from Fifty Linden Friday this week. It’s utterly girly and cute and I just love it. Hair is the brand spanking new release from TRUTH called Faith and the little fringe flick just about made my life. Also, I’m trying out a new hair colour, what do you think?
