So much has been happening in our beautiful world! I have been caught up in the everyday intoxication that has become my life in InWorldz!

From the arrival of our wonderful scenic sims - Come visit Rima, off the coast of Animated Spirits! to the continuing creation of poses and animations, decorations, furnishings and what have you!

I am also very fortunate in my friends ~
Family, RL, we are born to, friends are family we chose. And my dear sis in virtual, Bec Jigsaw, has been an amazing help to me. Besides her daily sunshiny attitude in both RL and VR. Recently she accomplished what others had tried so hard to over the course of time- she taught me MLP!! So of course, I have been an MLP'ing fool, sticking menus in everything that will hold still for it.

IW – Steam City

I haven’t traveled around the InWorldz, LLC grid in a long while and what a surprise to discover Steam City, a punkish/spacey type city with tunnels to travel and explore.

I had a little help from friends over at the Out Of World forums board for finding clothes (it’s also been a while since I’ve shopped the grid too!) so a huge thank you goes out to my forum co-horts on all things fashion!

IW – Dark Angel

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged any fashion from within the InWorldz, LLC grid and that’s because tattoo and alpha layers were not supported until recently and now I can get back to blogging! (win for shoes no more invisa prim!). As of right now, multiple layering is not supported (not even through TPV’s, sorry folks!) however a person can still glitz out their avatar with some good skins, clothes and single tattoo layer.

Rosa Rivera, the creator behind Random Rosies has put out an amazing outfit called Dark Angel. It comes with the wings as well as a pair of boots (not shown). She has some amazing prices for the budget minded individual with this outfit coming in at 200i’z. What I did not know and quickly discovered after going upstairs in the Random Rosie Main Store, is that she also dabbles in skins.

Lilith is a grey skin (her more pale skin appears to be coming out soon) with different lip colors; dark, natural and red, I’m showing the dark option in the picture. The blood dripping from the lip is my own and not included with the skin.

Hello Fans of Talon Faire!

Have some newness going on~ As you know, the Animation Station @ Talon Faire is a great source for unique and exciting poses and animations- things you simply will not find anywhere else on the grid! It had also been home to my Gruesome Tidings collection first developed for Halloween and La Ville Macabre Charity Event held through the auspices of the Out Of World forum- or OOW for short Out of World.

All in all, it was getting pretty crowded on that floating island so ... I waved my magic wand... plucked a new island from the very ether and voilà! A new floating island called Gruesome Tidings is hovering over Talon Faire. In it you will find despicable torture devices, horrific ways to inflict pain and suffering! Oh how the serfs will tremble to know it could be them hanging in those gallows... Come see the dark side of Talon Faire.

This piece of traditional Japanese rope art - also known as Kinbaku, is an artistic expression of bondage in BDSM circles. The female figure is glorified with the tight bindings that serve to set off her glorious curves. Swimming, Flying, Boating, Oh My!!

Animated Spirits, home of Talon Faire, is located in the Magellan Colony. Well, the dream of the Magellan Colony - open air and waters for all -has come to fruition! The Iz Straits are now open to sailors and travelers of all sorts!

To celebrate this brand new dawn in InWorldz, we now have a nice little dock for you to moor and take a respite from your travels. Animated Spirits invites you to come and stop a bit, explore the lands - and the sky!! We have a lovely mer underwater area, a hidden Arabic Pavilion (take the tandem TP to reach it), various dance and cuddle spaces, a shrine to the Goddess Kuan Yin, assorted rides to enjoy around the sim and we now are privileged host the Forum Cartel Hangout (InWorldz Edition) of SecondLife fame!

As always there are shops to meet your every need, but there is so much more to see you will not want to miss.

For example, we have added a little fishing shack right on the dock for a relaxing day of fishing. Click and take a free, wearable rod and reel, sit on the provided pose ball and look out over the waves. If you want to take home the fishing experience, the rod and reel - animated - is available for purchase along with a handy creel to take home dinner. Fishing shack available soon, when I am done filling it with goodies for your enjoyment.

Pirate Rummage and Albannach at Wheatcliffe!

Shhh… have you heard?! The Pirates have landed at Wheatcliffe!! They’re throwin boxes and chests full of plunder… free for the takin! Fine gowns, clothes, jewels, priceless treasure and more… and it’s all to be had Saturday February 18th at the docks of the beautiful and engaging Renaissance roleplay sim where the Shire of Wheatcliffe resides. And that’s not all m’ hearties…. thar be music and revelry provided by the Scottish band Albannach! You really don’t want to miss it!

Here are the details from the announcement from Susanna Valeska – the Baroness of Wheatcliffe:

Rummage and Albannach Performance|Tomorrow, Saturday the 18th at 1200 IW time, we will have all sorts of goodies washing up on the docks of Wheatcliffe from a pirate ship wreck. At 1 p.m. Albannach will perform their traditional Scottish music on the deck outside of the Lion’s Den Inn. If you have period clothing items to contribute, extra chests will be provided by cracker taggart. Rummage will run all afternoon, band plays for an hour. Susanna

So... I have been rather busy making and doing and sort of neglectful about getting the word out- counter productive I know!

So then- from the most recent going backwards... let's see what is new..

First off- This gorgeous little Cloud Bedroom Suite! What is there NOT to love?!

Every little angel needs a place to lay her head and what could be more appropriate than a group of clouds to cradle her in her dreams? Included are four poses - sitting, relaxing, lounging and sleeping. And did you know there are delicate flowers that grow in the clouds? Yes! Our heavenly angel will be able to tend her garden very soon- meantime, she can lay under the ethereal flowers and listen to the music of the spheres.

IW – Role Play and Fashion, goes hand in hand

It’s recently come to my attention that the Role Play HUB, located at Selcouth Estates for InWorldz, LLC is currently hosting 16 different sims information that are available to get your story on. There is everything from Sci-fi to fairy with a bit of vampire thrown in for some good biting fun. Operated by Krsna Samsara, the RP HUB is a one stop location to find the role play of your dreams or for a free space to place information for others to find your role play style.

The next week or so, I’ll be showcasing fashion items for the many different sims that are available for role play and offer up some information about the different sims as well. I figure if we’re going to role play, we need to look the part right?

Come Dream With Me…

I was setting up my shop in the New Equinox Village last week, when in comes this lovely lady, Cracker Taggart, dressed in a lovely dress and woolen knit leggings and gloves. I complimented her on her lovely gloves and leggings, and she gave me a set! After I found out she made them, and was also making the beautiful flowing dress she was wearing, I asked her if she had a shop. And she said, No….

Well the rest of the evening we’re animatedly talking about this that and the other thing and finding out she’s an amazing builder with a massive inventory of things, when I finally convince her into renting a shop at Equinox. So! Be on the lookout for the new “TIO” shop at Equinox 2, where you can currently find some beautiful clothes and dresses in her “Sassie Scot” line. Here she is, moments after getting the keys from our wonderful Equinox landlord, Taika Wirsling. Look at that beautiful dress she’s wearing! I don’t know when it will be done, but I for one will be watching this shop closely. More is being added as she is able to work on taking photos and boxing them up, so do take a trip over to TIO on Equinox 2 in InWorldz to look around and grab her Landmark for return visits.

Don't want you to think I have been neglecting TF, but I have been kinda busy in RL and in IW and doing and building and animating and !!!! You get the picture...

This is such an exciting event even though in small numbers. It shows there is a need for such an expo and even more than a need - enough merchants in IW to have a fair showing! It shows InWorldz is GROWING!

I can only imagine what next year will be like and look forward to expand my offerings which grant you, in the skin department have been rather limited up to now as I have been concentrating lately in animations.

IW – Cold Fall Morning on the Beach

I went to the skin fair in InWorldz, LLC located on the Ohio sim and found the windblown hair by EMO-tions as well as some great skins by different designers including one of my favorites, Eye Candi. Of course, this was after I found the cute sweater top by Fashion Point a few days ago. Put them all together and it reminds me of a cold fall morning at the beach. The kind where you need a sweater in the morning but can lazily toss it on a rock once the sun comes up and warms the sand.

Oh what a tangled web we weave…

Boudica Destiny here, after a bit of a vacation from blogging while working on some other projects. When Leanna Caerndow told me about the La Ville Macabre charity event to be held in InWorldz I was excited to be able to participate and create something new for a good cause. Here is my offering… I hope you enjoy it!

You can find the Tangled Web dress at the La Ville Macabre Interactive Haunted Village on the Cryssalis sim, located in InWorldz. The event runs from October 15th to November 1st and is really something you don’t want to miss.

Some incredibly talented people came together to build this sim, provide wonderful things to buy, and put together a great line-up of nightly events for you. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, and all proceeds from purchases made at the sim will go 100% to charity to benefit Virtual Helping Hands. InWorldz – Something Wicked

When visiting a new virtual world, a person has to have a bit of adventure and the ability to search out what they are not used to and that includes creators. Often, it’s easy to gravitate to what we know and love but it’s so much fun finding the new-to-you creators that can take you from normal every day look to something a bit sexier or possibly more sinister. Mix and matching the old with the new can lead to surprising new twists and turns that you might never have realized.

IW is slowly building up the sub-culture many know as Gothic and by doing so, a new group has been created called du Gothique. It’s a group for all those that love the dark and dirty, the macabre, twisted and the warped (stole parts of that from the group charter, your welcome). It’s free to join and not spammy, plus pink rarely qualifies!

Just remember to re-apply that make up later every time you relog….

Fae Reflecting Pool

Sweet little pool for wandering fae. The pool features flitting butterflies, a singing bird, assorted plantings including original cattail sculpts, a tiny fairy statuette, soft vapor, glowing crystals, floating lilies and a custom animation! InWorldz – Grunge to Feed.me

A full immersion role play sim, Desolation is in full swing InWorldz, LLC. Where vampires, demons, crack addicts and much more collide and attempt to stay alive. Where the greeting in the subway welcomes you with “Hello! We have been waiting for your arrival to Desolation where you may survive, but I bet you wish you hadn’t.” It’s also a great place for the darker side of picture taking!

And now a word about Fashion feeds!

InWorldz, LLC has been in need of a fashion feed for a while and Cris from the SLU boards has created his own fashion feed and welcomes IW bloggers to join. You can read the information here on the Out Of World Forum (go to last page if not auto-directed) on directions for contacting Cris or go directly to the SLU Feedme contributors thread. The Out of World board has the directions for InWorldz, LLC bloggers to make sure your blog shows up under that tag, so you probably should read that as well. Thank you Cris for doing this and having IW on the Feed.me site!

A few quick notes about Thornes on Roses blog; I’ll be blogging both SL items and IW items from here on out since Cris has given his feed the ability to distinguish between the two by using tags (make sure you use them if you blog in IW!) Homes & Residences Expo Opens Today!!

The First Annual Homes & Residences Expo is being put on by a group of hard working folks out to showcase some of the beauty and skill in InWorldz. The show opens today, August 31 @ the Inworldz Events A, B, C, and D regions. You can find them on your map easily.

Talon Faire is honored to have been invited early on and we have been slaving away to produce the best we can! Find us on Lot 27, by the way.

Presenting Kazumi - 和美 - Beautiful harmony, in Japanese. We feel this Japanese style home represents that balance so characteristic of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Note also, that while adhering to the simple lines so indicative of Japanese style, there are certain nods at Western styles as can be seen in some of the furnishings around the home. This house would be equally fitting at the foot of Mt. Fuji as it would be over looking the California coast.

The time and performer information has not been given yet and although I may not be able to make the event (weekends are tough for me!) And… we have video!

Novice clothing designer and hair-dresser turned movie maker! Yeah, can we say distracted? Alright, so I’ve been wanting to learn how to do a video for awhile now and when I came across a post by Kate Fiorell and asked how she did the video, she turned me on to CamStudio. Thanks Kate!

Here is my very first attempt at video screen capture, using the freebie CamStudio 2.0 program, also my first attempt at putting a video on YouTube. Hey what can I say, I’m trending with firsts!

Please forgive the video quality. I had my graphic settings on ultra with Sailor’s Delight windlight pre-set. My movement is clumsy and jerky, but this is to give an idea of an Orientation trail I’ve created in the 3D virtual world of KoD on Reaction Grid and also to flex my tiny new video-making muscles.

The video starts out at the welcome landing point near the arena for Kingdom of DeMolay, and I did not build any of that, or the great teleport topo-map. My part starts through the archway… I went a little wild having fun with landscaping and really think it helps bring a lot of realism to the scene. Nothing fancy here, and no music. Just a walk through the progress of my project and a couple sights along the way while I figure out how this video stuff works.

Nooks and Crannies

And now for something a little different! I made a harp! Yeah I know… totally out of left field huh?

So… what’s gotten into me?! I have been working hard at creating new hairstyles, but had hit a rough spot in the design process as the last two wigs just didn’t “feel” right when I got them done. While waiting to get suitably inspired I managed to injure my back working in the barn, and well, it just plain hurt to sit too long at the computer. That put a bit of a damper in my style… but now I’m back in the saddle and inspired to make something I’ve never attempted in all my years in virtual worlds… A harp!

Gee a harp. That can’t be hard right? Well it may look simple, but there are lots of little details like strings and pegs… with 36 each of those, well it’s not easy to keep the total prim count down.

I managed to complete the harp, and a nice chair to sit on for a total of 114 prims. Woot! I wanted nice smooth curves and a rounded back soundbox.

Not as easy to make as it was to imagine, because I like a bit of the realistic approach. My soundbox had to be hollow, and it had to show the strings poking through, and I wanted nice oval shaped access holes in the back for changing strings. Now, I just need to figure out how to do a sound loop and add some of my original music into it, but that will be down the road. And I need a good harp playing animation…

A Stellar 4th

Just hopping in real quick to let you all know I’m back from vacation! RL has been plowing ahead full steam so I have not been able to log in much this week, but when I saw the word come across the wire that Stellar had a new group gift out I hurried over to grab it and share with y’all. That’s right, I said y’all. I’m feeling spunky today.

Lexi Morgan of Stellar has created a great pair of shorts inspired by the good ole U.S. of A. If you hurry you can get your own pair but they’re only out on July 4th, at the Stellar Mainstore on Emsland. While you’re there, why not go whole hog and get the great sneakers and baseball shirt as well. I’ve always loved and admired Lexi’s talent and touch with details.

And now on a more serious note…. to all my friends in the United States, wishing you a very happy Independence Day. I’m thankful for the multitude of freedoms we still have, but also this year more than others, aware of so many of our friends around the world that are losing their freedoms. Be thankful for what you have and remember how you got it.

A Little Sightseeing!

I’m so excited! Here’s a machinima of the special project I’ve been working on. I made all the hair in this video!

Not only have I been exploring in a re-creation of the Medieval City of Rhodes and making hair for a really great project working with the Kingdom of Demolay creative team, but they’ve just come out with a machinima trailer highlighting everything we’ve been working on.

It was fun being part of the actors in the making of the video. At one point I was a young teen man roller-skating around the piano in the park concert scene. Another time I was the goalie in the soccer scene. Go Yellow! Also played the skateboarding girl in the pac-man-esque hedge maze game. I think we all had way too much fun helping put this together, but all the machinima credit goes to Ariella Furman of FramedIn3D.com who did a fabulous job on it! So since we’re going through the virtual video scrapbook, I figured I’d also share a few of my sightseeing pics that I took yesterday after I finally got my imprudence to let me see shadows! Woot!

Taming Rowena

Today I chanced upon a lovely gown at Evie’s Closet that was only 50I’z. I nearly scattered the contents of my coin-purse in my flurry to procure the tiny amount of requested cents. Ladies, if you are looking for a lovely gown for your wanderings and roleplay, you might wish to saunter over to Evie’s Closet on the Big Blue Easy sim in InWorldz to find Rowena. The gown comes in White or Black with beautiful white embroidery on the bodice and long flowing ethereal sleeves.

Yesterday a new hair shop opened up InWorldz, the creator is actually new to making hair this year and has done an amazingly wonderful job! Boudica Destiny of Fashion Destiny has been teasing us for a few months and once the notice went out that she was open, I hopped over and bought one because hey…hair!
