Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 21, Wild Blue Yonder

Wild Blue Yonder

This colour wasn’t too difficult – there’ve been worse – but it wasn’t the easiest either. Nevertheless, my ridiculously enormous inventory proved itself equal to the task again. More info about the challenge on Softpaw’s blog.

The lingerie/bikini pictured is an outfit I picked up at a closing sale (Luxuria) and as far as I know is no longer available (though there are other brands with that name operating).

The skin though, is currently available at a special event to benefit a small animal charity. In fact, it’s the special edition of Irene from Izzies’s and is the companion skin to the one featured in my last post, You get two tones of the skin in the pack, and this is the darker mocha shade. Two shapes are also included.

Wherever I have gone

I ended up on Venexia  again… I’d been looking for an exotic sim, perhaps something with some Moorish influences, to showcase this beautiful mesh gown from The Library. Didn’t quite find what I was looking for, but anything Socionex is supremely photogenic, so it made a more than adequate backdrop!

The Scheherazade gown is currently avaiable at a special price at the We <3 Role-Play event. (This round continues till May 31, before making way for a new collection on June 4.) The outfit includes mesh dress in five sizes, belt, armbands and cufs, earrings, veil and scarf.

There’s another small event on now that I wanted to tell you about. It’s called The Catnip Carnival, and it’s been organised by the Avatars for Animals group to benefit small animal charities. This event will help the River Cities Humane Society for Cats in Louisiana, USA look after some needy kitties.

Clan Maiden from Soedara

The new partial-mesh outfit from Soedara is so versatile it can take you all the way from elegant lady to raggamuffin (stopping off at peasant and wench in between).

There are so many options possible with this outfit, I’m not even going to attempt to show you them all, but I’ll try to outline the various building block pieces for you.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 26, Big Dip O’ Ruby

Big Dip o’ Ruby

Breaking one of my self-imposed rules here – I already blogged this outfit (Warda from Bilo) in different colours for Fantasy Faire. But of the various possible matches for this berrylicious shades in my inventory, I was happiest with this, so… rules are made to be broken!

I ended up on the instantly recognisable Venexia sim to take the photos, feeling like Juliet (yes, I know that Shakespeare’s play was set in Verona!)

Retirement sale at Soedara

I’m a jinx! I included this outfit in Wednesday’s crayon colour challenge post, and now it’s being retired!

Soedara’s City Girl – Chains and Stones outfit has been reduced to 100L (originally 499L) so don’t miss this last chance to stock up. Once the sale is over, the outfit will be replaced by a new, re-invented style, and the original will no longer be available.

Yes, it’s a pretty racy outfit (so if avatar nudity scares you, look away now) but of course you can layer it up and wear over a more modest base outfit.

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 19, Illuminating Emerald

Illuminating Emerald

I lucked out with this week’s post; the very first outfit I turned out was a great match for colour :) Of course, I had to then to try on several more outfits which were all discarded.  (More about the colour challenge over on Softpaw’s blog.)

The base outfit is Shack -  Opal Delight Silks in Lagoon, but instead of wearing the jewelry that comes with the silk, I opted instead to wear the very first outfit I ever bought from Soedara almost two years ago.

We Love Role-Play is now open!

We <3 Role-Play  is now open! or should be, if everything goes according to plan :) I managed to fit lots of stuff from the event into this post – dress (obviously), hair, skin and furniture.

The Herbalist Worktable from Aisling, which you can see in the background above,  is cool as all-get-out and I find it insane that it’s only 7 land impact. If it was prim rather than mesh, can you imagine how much of your allowance it would eat up? I love that it incorporates plants and the leafed tree branch. It comes with a hud that allows you to change the colour of the wood and turn the prim shadow on or off.

Simply the Best of Second Life spring hunt

Blue Moon Enterprises – Lady Rhiannon  gown Purple

I had a quick run around some of the Simply the Best’s spring hunt locations this morning and grabbed a few prizes, including some romantic gifts from Roawenwood and Blue Moon Enterprises, and some raunchier offerings from Arachne Silks and House of Dragovar Silks!

It’s a 10L hunt, but you can find previews of the prizes at the official Simply the Best blog. There are lots of home and garden items, but I mostly picked out clothing, cos that’s my thing :)

We Love Role-Play: Velvet Whip and EZ Weaponry

Yes, it’s another shot taken from the back – but I couldn’t resist having this beautiful bow from EZ Weaponry in the first shot (along with the gown from Velvet Whip). I don’t know much about combat or weaponry in SL roleplay,  but I know when something looks good, and this surely does! It’s called the Guilded Bow of Jie and there’s 25% off at We <3 Role-Play. It comes with a useful looking hud for those of you who know about these things :emb: with sheathed and drawn versions of the bow, and a separate quiver.

The mesh gown from Velvet Whip is 50%, so it’s a mere 100L at the event. It includes snood, veil, and mask, so you could wear it as a Gorean free woman, or else any kind of medieval roleplay. I think it’d be really nice in an ASOIAF setting.

The We <3 Role-Play event opens on May 4 (only two more days!) at 3pm SLT and I’ll post the LM when it opens, but you might already have come across the parcel on a well-establishing shopping sim :)

I just want to take a moment to mention the skin from Aeva, which is at the special fundraiser, for aevaheartsick, to help Amesha Jewell with the cost of a new computer. She will be participating in future rounds of of W<3RP, but right now she has two brand new skins at the fundraiser. They are all only 100L for each tone of the base skin. I usually wear light skins for this blog, but IMO, Amesha does beautiful dark tones too. Please go and check them out! :)

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 18, Midnight Pearl

Midnight Pearl

Back to normal, and back on schedule after Fantasy Faire (although there is still some hunting to be done!) This week’s colour challenge is another one where my careful matching in-world doesn’t seem to have come out quite so exactly on the blog page. No idea why that should be…. Nevermind!

This week’s outfit is from Jessenia Delicious, and the accessories are from Soedara. Anklet and bracelets are from an Earendil silks set, but the necklace is one of the separately sold Earendil necklaces. (You do get a necklace with the silks, but the ones sold separately have an additional texture change feature).

We [heart] Role-Play: Extremely Coy from GSpot

Roleplayers of Second Life, have you got any lindens left after Fantasy Faire? I hope so, because the We <3 Role-Play event opens on May 4, and there is really a stellar list of participants (list after the jump).

The first outfit sent out to bloggers is ‘Extremely Coy’ from GSpot. I’m really pleased to get the chance to try something from this store as I’ve seen it featured on other blogs but never gotten round to checking it out myself (bad, lazy blogger!!).

Crayon Colour Challenge: Week 17, Manatee

Manatee

Well that wasn’t very smart. When I took the photo for week 17, I completely forgot to copy the outfit list… so the credits will be a bit less detailed than usual. And of course this photo is a bit late, due to Fantasy Faire!

I can tell you the outfit is Simplicity in Sky from On a Lark, and I probably picked it up on one of their fabulous 30L Saturday or 25L Tuesday rounds. It’s mesh, and the outfit includes mesh gown and cape plus alphas, and a modesty shirt if you want to keep all your skin covered.

The hair is Marisol from Truth, and the skin (can’t remember which) is from Curio. Both places have sales on at the moment. Gala Phoenix of Curio will be releasing whole new skin lines soon (hurrah) so her older designs are all half price. This means you can pick up one of her megapacks, containing over 100 skins, for 1000L. Insane, right?! The Curio sale (mainstore only) runs till midnight SLT on May 4.

Fantasy Faire 2013: Skinthesis II !

PETITE PHOTOBOMB! Not quite… I was hanging out on Fantasy Faire sim The Valley of Ish’Nar and spotted The Blogging Elf herself, Ms Arica Storaro, looking gorgeous as ever. I asked if she’d be the token biggie in a photo and she very graciously agreed, so thanks Arica!

In these pics, I’m wearing the Virtue SE (Fair) RFL petite mesh avatar from Skinthesis (when I blogged a couple of the other avs last time out, I realised I hadn’t put anything in the pics to indicate the size of the avatars, so I’ve tried to rectify that this time!).

Fantasy Faire 2013: Last days, lots of outfits!

Staff: Veiled Emporium -.:Snoodle’s:. Skull of Ka’Lietre Staff ver. 1.0
Gown: Kouse’s Sanctum – Ophelia

Fantasy Faire has been extended for one day, so you have additional 24 hours to go shopping and sight-seeing on the beautiful sims. Anyway; less talking and more photos from me, I have a bunch of outfits to show you that I didn’t already get to!

I’m going to try to use extra time to take some photos of the amazing sims tomorrow. Anyway, get down to the Faire – now open till April 29!

Fantasy Faire 2013: Sax Shepherd Designs

Have you been to Fantasy Faire yet? All good things must end, and unfortunately the Faire’s too brief existence – for this year – will come to an end on April 28. The Key of Hope hunt continues until May 19; hunt-lovers, don’t miss!

Back to the job in hand. In these pics I’m wearing a very skimpy outfit – more a set of body jewelry really – from Sax Shepherd Designs. I blogged one of these outfits was for the One Voice benefit last summer, and it now seems to have taken up permanent residence at the top of my most popular posts.

(The poses btw are the Magical set from Two Cats again.)

Fantasy Faire 2013: Veiled Emporium, Bilo & Analog Dog

Erk! Lots of stuff to cram into this post. As well as some sculptures and artefacts from Veiled Emporium, there are fabulous dresses from Bilo and a new hair from Analog Dog.

First up is the animated dragon sculpture by Nikita Schapire of Veiled Emporium. It’s available in a number of colours, and the Sea Dragon variation is the RFL donation item. To turn the animation on or off, simply click the dragon and watch as the dragon clutches it jewels, then rears up from its perch… or not, if you’ve toggled it off.
