The pirate lass

A new round of The Fantasy Collective opens tomorrow, and the theme is Pirates, so think Black Sails, Pirates of the Caribbean, Blackbeard, Anne Bonny and Grace O’Malley! Arrrghhh me hearties!

The very eerie rocks I’m standing on – including wrecked ship and skeleton floating in the waters below – are from Kalopsia. The Lost Pirate Island at original size is only 25 LI. I enlarged the scene though, naturally pushing the LI upwards.

The main outfit I’m wearing is The White Armory’s Cabin Girl mesh bloomers set, which includes mesh boots, lace choker, and pirate hat. However, for these pics, I swapped it out for MeshedUp’s pirate bandana and hat. The bandana includes two versions, one for wearing with the hat, and one for wearing on its own. You will need a nice sleek hair for a neat fit.  (A shrug from Indyra and belt from The.Plastik complete the look.)

Perched on my shoulder is the Mowie pet from May’s Soul / Tentacio. This time he/she is decked out like a fearsome pirate, complete with hat, eye patch, and a hook for a paw. Arrrrr!

Future nymph

One of Junbug’s latest releases is available at t The Seraphim Social. It’s a ‘space dress’ named for Trillian from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The gown has materials turned up to the max – part of the skirt is super shiny, perfect for a futuristic look. It’s also available in a black and gold colourway.

The tiara -  currently at at We Love Role-Play) – is one of the Dominion of the Deep tiaras from Paper Moon. There are another two aquatically-inspired coronets available and they’re all 25% off for the duration of the event. The skin – a special tone of Quiana from The Skinnery – is half price at the same event.

Gretchen

Quick look at the April outfit from Junbug, now discounted at  We Love Role-Play. Tops and skirts are sold separately, so you can pick exactly the colour combination(s) you want.

The plunging lace top is perfect for wenches – but of course you can cover up with a clothing layer underneath if you need something more modest.

More from We Love Role-Play

Another We Love Role-Play post! In these pictures, I’m wearing lots from We<3RP, such as the Gertrude gown in pink from Luminary. I love the folds and gathers on the sleeve, and the style looks authentically medieval (to my uneducated eye at least).

I’m wearing TheSkinnery’s special fairy tone of the Quiana skin again (50% off! do not miss!). This time out, I’m wearing the skin with its own eyebrows. (Last time, I added tattoo layers to the no-brow skin.) It would be great if more designers offered no-brow skins as standard, it seems to be becoming more popular. For me, it’s not a make-or-break in purchase decision, but it’s great to have that flexibility. (A range of popular appliers are included too, another big positive.)

I also wish all hair designers made ‘variety’ or ‘naturals’ packs! I’m not capable of sticking to one hair colour, so I’m happy when my fickle ways are facilitated. New brand Epos certainly does have a naturals pack, so hooray for that.

That never more true love can sever

We Love Role-Play is now open! Well, strictly speaking, it’s been open since some time yesterday, but ssshhh.

I’m wearing several items from the Round 11 collection in these pictures. First of these is the Quiana fantasy skin from The Skinnery. Uma has reworked the skin in five beautiful fantasy tones to suit a variety of characters, including Mermaid, Witch, Drow and Demon. I’m wearing the Fairy tone, which is the most ‘human’.

The skin includes a dark brow and no-brow option. To match my fiery red hair – I feel like Tori Amos -  I’m wearing the no-brow skin with a red brow tattoo which had been lurking in the depths of my inventory. There are three cleavage versions too, you can see the medium option here. Also included are appliers for Slink hands and feet, PhatAzz, and Tangos/Mirage.

The horns and headwrap are part of Lassitude & Ennui’s Spring horns and jewelry set. (The set also includes a matching necklace, not shown. I love the delicate little leaves of the design, and the bold, splashy colours of this Blurple set – but there are plenty more natural and soft tones if you want something a little more subtle. Added bonus: the leaves and cords on the horns, wrap, and necklace are all texture change.

The ‘gown’ is the Hybrid outfit from Peqe, and creator Inex Hax calls it a vest/top/dress combination. The outfit includes a clothing layer bodysuit to wear underneath, but this outfit screams to be m (Read more...)

30L Anniversary Fair (featuring May’s Soul)

The 30L Anniversary Fair opened yesterday (I couldn’t get in then!), celebrating 4 years of 30L events. It runs until Sunday, so don’t leave it too late before visiting.

You’ll find some amazing 30L bargains, like this armour bodice from May’s Soul, which comes in three different metallic colours, and three different finishes (plain, embellished, and bloody).

There are also 30L gachas, and my nosering / facechain is a special rare prize, again from May’s Soul.

Even if you’re completely broke and haven’t a single Linden dollar to your display name, you should still go and have a look around – there’s a 0L hunt with prizes from all the stall holders. Look for the cord necklaces with dangling ’4′ pendant hidden in all sorts of sneaky places.

Soedara at We Love Role-Play

Round 11 of  We <3 RP opens on Friday. Soedara have put out two new outfits, each at 30% off. The Scurvy Wench is a pirate-inspired ensemble, featuring a corseted dress, shrug, armwarmers and jewelry. Meanwhile, Berhawa-nafsu is a skimpy mesh camisk.

Both outfits have lots of options for you to play with; some are hud controlled, and some are additional options included in the pack. For instance, with scurvy wench, the hud lets you change the colours of the corset and the flowers. There are also two colours of the shrug, and an alternative dress has different colours in the skirt. The Berhawa-nafsu huds let you change the opacity of the camisk, the colour of the fabric, or the colours of the beads.

The boots I’m wearing alongside Scurvy Wench are from Kahli Designs, and are part of the Elven Courtier outfit. The sandals I’m wearing with the camisk are add-ons for Slink flat feet from Maxi Gossamer, at this month’s Fameshed.

Courtesan

Some recently released shoes from Pure Poison inspired me to try something just a little different for this post. We all know Gorean slaves can’t wear high heel wedge shoes – but a courtesan from another world certainly could.

Also new are the Zaia hand jewels from Earthstones for Slink hands (note – these are fitted to the Slink Casual and Elegant1 hands, so check you have these hands, and that you buy from the correct vendor).

The clothes are from Soedara – the top is a sexy new mesh camisk, while the skirt is from a set of good ol’ flexi-and-sculpt silks. Mask from Boudoir, additional jewelry from Zaara and Lost Haven, and skin from The.Plastik.

Desert Dream

Back to my roots… silks! The Desert Dream silks are a colourful recent release from Second Moon. It’s a traditional set of dancing silks – no mesh, lots of mobile flexis. There are lots of different ways to wear it, and you can mix-and-match with the other desert ranges.

The collar is from The Forge, at  We Love Role-Play. You have until the end of the month to buy it there at a discount before the venue shuts down to prepare for the new round on 4 April.

Mistress on a Sunday

Another look at the Nimue gown from Evie’s Closet. I wanted to create a ‘Victorian bad girl’ look (a scarlet dress for a scarlet woman) so here she is – Mistress on a Sunday.

Beloved nymph, princess of rivers

It’s the mermaid round of Genre, but this outfit from The Library would be perfect for kajirae or fae who like wearing silks. It’s a mesh outfit, in two pieces – a skirt in the usual five sizes, and a collection of bead necklaces. At 200L it’s slightly more expensive than most Genre offerings, but it’s still a good price for a really nice outfit.

I grabbed quite a few things at this round, including an outfit from Sweet Lies and a circlet from On a Lark, plus the gift box that Curious Kitties put out.

The Countdown Room has opened

The Countdown Room has just opened! This is a new event, organized by Titania Halasy of Whatz. It operates on a fairly unique premise: once it’s opened, time ticks away until the round closes and everyone is ejected! I have no idea how long the event will run, it could be a couple of days or a couple of weeks.

Sneak peek: The.Plastik at Skin Fair

Are you a member of Skin Addiction or the Pale Girl Productions Info Group? If you are, it’s just a matter of hours before you can visit Skin Fair 2014 (sim avatar limits allowing, of course).

The event opens to the public on March 14th, and there are three sims full of brand new skins, shapes, and cosmetics. (There are also a some free gifts dotted around and about the stores!)

Note – a script limit will be enforced for at least the first week of the fair, to help keep lag to a minimum. So make sure to wear your low-lag outfit. Better yet, why not try a full-body alpha like this marketplace freebie?

You’ll find The.Plastik’s store on Sim 3 of the event (bloggers have been asked not to post slurls before the early access opens, sorry!).   Inside there are new special editions of the Astrali skin, the new Fauxe makeups, and another batch of Slink nail appliers with the stunning textures you expect from Vae.

The Wicapi Wakan outfit from Soedara

Wicapi Wakan is a new native-style outfit from Soedara, and one of the colours is currently discounted at We Love Role-Play. The outfit includes four different variations of the dress, option feather belt add-ons, necklace, headband, necklace, earrings, bracelets and moccasin shoes.

Slink appliers are included for the outfit’s gloves. This was my first time using a clothing/tattoo applier with the Slink hands, so if you’re not already familiar with this, remember to use the Slink Utilities hud to turn tattoos on.  I had to ask for help :)  You’ll find loads more colours of the outfit in the Soedara  mainstore.

The skin in these photos is also from We<3RP – it’s from Lumae, which is kind-of a rebranded Aeva // Heartsick. It might be more accurate to say it’s the new skin brand from Amesha Jewell as the older products are still under the previous name. Lumae is more of a ‘fresh start’.

You find the poses there too – the very cool huntress set from !bang. The spear I borrowed from an older outfit from Qalma.

Lots of new and new-ish things…

If you haven’t been to this round of  Genre (the Fae round), better hurry because it closes on the 12th before a new round opens on the 15th. I’m wearing the Ella dress from Luminary, and the Butterflies cage from Sweet Lies.

Pure Poison have also just released some awesome flat sandals for Slink flat feet. They’re materials-enabled and you get three colours in the pack. Close-up further down!

The Living Light horns are new from The.Plastik (the mainstore has moved to Growl, btw). Each pack contains lots of options for the horns – you can wear just the top part, or the curled part, lights on or off, and with or without candles, endcaps and ribbons. You can also buy texture-change huds for the horns separately, which allow you to customize the candles and the ribbons.

The wings are part of Pucca Fire Caster’s War Kitten outfit – discounted now at  We Love Role-Play , as is the hair from Milk.

Nimue

More from We Love Role-Play!  This amazing gown is Nimue from Evie’s Closet, and it’s an amazingly structured and detailed piece of mesh. You can find it in three colours, discounted, at the event, while there are even more colours available back at the mainstore. To my eye, it has a Victorian or Edwardian look; so I think it would work really well for steampunk settings.

This vintage-inspired hair is new from Calico and it includes a highly-customisable texture change rose accessory.  I love the waves and whorls at the back of the style, and how it’s pulled back cleanly from the face. This makes it perfect for showing off earrings!

Speaking of which, these earrings come from Distorted Dreams and are a lovely, substantial piece of mesh. Personally, I do like my jewelry to be quite large – the better for everyone to see an appreciate it. Once again, the eyes are from Musa’s gacha, in the special gacha chalet at the event.

New round of We Love Role-Play opens tomorrow

A brand new round of We Love Role-Play opens tomorrow (by my counting, that’s round 10, so congratulations to all the organisers and designers who’ve made it such a great event).

You’ll find my hair (Mina), headdress (Keystone), and eyes (Musa – gacha) all there, and all discounted between 25% and 50% for the duration of the event. The poses are from the event too – the Huntress set from !bang.

The beautiful Grecian gown is another original mesh creation from Junbug, and you’ll find it at the One Word event. This round is inspired by the word “tragedy”, and the gown is called Electra, after the matricidal princess. The outfit is two pieces – the gown itself and optional shoulder drapes.

The staff is from EZ Weaponry. I’m a poser, not a fighter, so was really happy to see that with this item there’s a purely cosmetic version included! Don’t fret, naturally it includes all the other versions and gestures you need to do your opponents some real damage.

Fairyland

It’s your last chance to get to the  Fantasy Gacha Carnival today, where you’ll find the Jasmyne hat and ribbon choker. They’re a joint effort from Le Petite Morte and Enfant Terrible.

The Ariela gown is new from Junbug, and you can find it at The Fantasy Collective, which will be open for another little while. Don’t forget, items at TFC are exclusive for the next six months!
