Here’s just a quick rundown of the styling credits:

When Luna announced the color of coral I didn’t find anything coral in my inventory so I was left browsing the tons and tons of items on market.   I pleasantly came across this skirt which I purchased.  I hadn’t realized how long it was and when I put it on I knew the Coral pumps from Hucci that I had weren’t going to work so I went to find a shirt instead.  I ended up coming across this cute top from The Sea Hole but with the shape of the neckline and style of shirt with the skirt it wasn’t working… paired with this white crop jacket though, it’s perfect.  Then was the dilemma of shoes… at this point I’d already purchased the skirt and top so I was hoping to find boots in my inventory and I tried on a few pairs before it clicked. “I KNOW WHAT BOOTS!” I blurted out to my mom and co-blogger.

Inaya is a skin store that I’ve admired from afar but never took the plunge in getting a skin from there.  Today changes that fact; I have a lovely ethnic skin to show off named Audjyan.

Audjyan comes in three tones for only 1000L: pale, tan and dark with bare faced versions and a teeth option.  I didn’t find any visible seams and the skintones are just lovely.  I do have one concern about it, the lips are drawn way outside the lip template, making the lips very full. I also wish that there were a non-pushup size option for the breast.  Anyhow, this is still a very lovely skin and I invite all of you dark skin lovers like myself to go down to Inaya and try a demo for Audjyan.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that celebrates it. It may not be entirely obvious, but Thanksgiving inspired my look today.  This is a very typical me look, take a cute dress, throw on a jacket and heels and instant pulled together look.  I know you’re wondering by now, how did Thanksgiving inspire this look?If you have been following this blog and my post, you probably know by now that I’m Southern.  So all of last night and most of today was spent in the kitchen.  My RL outfit will consist of sweats and tees. Since SL doesn’t require staying up all night to make a feast, I can play the part of the glamorous hosts here.  Hucci has been cranking out the releases lately, so I chose the Noni dress as the foundation of my outfit.  For a little contrast, I chose the funky grey jacket from justB (they are closing really soon so hurry!). Orange jewelry from Caroline’s Jewelry to add a pop and black heels from N Core completes this look!

I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things with blogging, and what better way to get back into the groove with doing a skin review.  Unique Megastore recently released Wendy to its line up, and just for today I’m going pale to show you her.


Wendy has the familiar Unique Megastore features: sexy breast option, hairbase option, plus freckles and pubes tattoos. She also comes in twelve makeups, two of which features the open mouth/teeth that Unique does so well.

The skin has a very pretty face but I do have some concerns.  Some details were very light and needed more shading and highlights, like the philtrum. I think this may be a new trend among skin makers, as there are several skins out currently that features that.  Also, there is a seam on the back of neck and very visible skin difference. Aside from those issues, you should defiantly stop by Unique Megastore to pick up demos.

Being a child of the South and basically brow-beaten to act like a lady, its hard for me to show my sexy side.  Even in SL, where you don’t have to worry about having too much body fat, stretchmarks and the cellulite.  The latest releases from Hucci, lets you be all the sexy you want to be without the slutty. If you haven’t figured out already, Hucci is my number one place to go when I need to be sexy.  No one does sexy tight dresses like Eboni Khan does, as evident with her latest release. Who said that you couldn’t be sexy during the winter?

When I started SL four years ago, I had a mission to always dress in vintage wear.  I was going through that stage in real life, and sought out everything that said 40′s and 50′s wear to me.  Of course I’ve taken a very big detour in that philosophy today, but today there is nothing sexier than wearing a tight pencil skirt with line nylons and sky-high stilettos. There, their, and they’re.

Just a few tips to keep in mind to keep these straight. You will use there when referring to a place whether a physical place or abstract.  There are two examples below.

Your shoes are over there on the floor. or There are so many fashion blogs!

Moving along.. to decipher when to use their you need to remember when using this form it implies a particular noun possesses the thing you are referring to.

Their clothes were all over the floor.  In that sentence we use their because the clothes belong to someone.

Finally, we will look at they’re. Words with an apostrophe all work pretty similar.  It’s important to think logically about what you are putting it in place of.

They’re at the mall. This implies that a group of people are involved. It can only be used as a subject (who or what does the action) or a verb (the action itself). They’re closing the mall at 6 tonight.

Your, You’re

When you are trying to use these be mindful that any time you want to use you’re you could easily replace you are in that sentence.   Example:  I hope you’re going to buy (Read more...)

Please ignore the quality of this photo, that’s actually what the title of the post is about.  Anything that could go wrong trying to take this photo did.  I’m having the worse issues with my graphics and I don’t even know what to do anymore.  OpenGL issue with a GTX 460 card. Anyone else having this problem or had that can help me troubleshoot that would be awesome.

I had been searching Second Life for awhile now to find my place.  I’ve been in many scenes since joining SL back in 2006.. from clubbing to stripping to modeling but mostly I was involved in family RP.  At one point I was a teacher at an elementary school run by resident Jill Caldera.  I had a tough go as a parent in SL and it seemed like I was always sad and I never felt completely fulfilled.

I am a role-player at heart and I really was craving to get into some very involved RP but it was difficult to get that through random adoptions of child avatars and everyone having different expectations.  I am loving my two SL daughters so much but neither are on very often and I started to feel lonely so I went out to find something I enjoyed.

My friend and fellow Shangri La Sister, Katelynn Ashland, had told me that I should go and try out The Crack Den headed by nadir Taov.  I wasn’t sure about it as I’m not familiar with that ‘scene’ of urban life involving crime and drugs and whatever else.

All that aside I decided I’d go for it.  I took advantage of the Display Name feature finally and I became Mya.  She is a 23 year old college student who is a bit naiive of street (Read more...)

I fell in love with this bra and panty set though, which is odd for me because well… I HATE the color pink. It is rare I buy something in the color, I really have to like it or the shade of it to even go there. But, this I thought was just too cute and well, it looks great on me so I am a huge new fan. I remember my very first days in SL. I found this magical place that played Jazz 24/7 in a beautiful ballroom. I wasn’t allowed in, however, because I didn’t have on a ballgown. I waited until I could muster up the lindens needed to buy a pretty ballgown and for about six months I lived on the ballroom floor dancing the days and nights away. These days I have no real need to wear ballgowns, but I simply cannot resist a beautiful full dress. This very lovely dress and couture hat from Agnes Finney fits the bill and makes me feel like the belle of the ball, wherever the ball may be.Get This Look:

Filthy Skins have been getting tons of coverage of late from the blogs, but because I primarily wear tan and dark skins I stayed away from them because they had a bit too much red undertones for my taste. The newest skin, Jolie, however impressed me so much that I photographed myself in pale tones, something that I never do.

Jolie is available in six beautiful tones: Ivory, Pale, Sunkissed, Bronze, Cocoa and Expresso;  that are sure to please everyone. What about the reddish tones that I noted earlier? In the darker tones, there are a bit redder than I like but greatly toned down from previous releases.  In fact, the dark Expresso tone is almost perfection in my opinion.

Jolie comes in fatpacks of eight makeups with tattoo cleavage layers for a steal price of L$1800. All in all a lovely skin for a very lovely price!

I am originally from San Francisco, I moved to Phoenix, AZ about 3 years ago to live with my then Second Life Boyfriend who is now my Real Life Fiancé. For the most part I am enjoying Phoenix, 80 in December is really nice even if it is 120 in the summer. But occasionally I get homesick for the Bay and the fog and all the culture I found back home and I start wandering around Second Life, searching for a good representation of the place I for so long called my home.

Today’s adventure lead me to the San Francisco Museum of Contemporary Arts (SOMA) which is located on the Fisherman’s Warf SIM. I love visiting here, it has an amazing scale replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. But more recently they added a scale reproduction of the SOMA and the beautiful galleries house some wonderful Second Life photographers and sculptors. I really enjoyed walking around here and it gave me a chance to break in my new shoes from Miamai, so was a doubly good day.

The Body Shop is a relatively new skin shop with a small but growing inventory that shows promise.  The skin I’m showing today, Vania, is one of the newest skin available, and its a beauty.

Vania is available in a dark tone only, which of course immediately drawn me to it. I’m impressed that the tone is perfectly chocolate, not too much red or orange undertones as many other brands do. Another thing that drawn me to Vania is that it is a great deal, a single makeup is only L$490 and the fatpack is an incredibly insane price of L$1590. The skin includes pubes and pushups on tattoo and underwear layers. All in all a lovely skin for the pricetag, and of course its a must demo!

Today I bring you one of the latest beautiful faces from Curio. Summer lives up to her name, a youthful face that reminds me of summers spent in Florida at beachside.  I’m showing it in Acorn, but Summer comes in all of the yummy tones Gala is known for, Moonbeam, Petal, Sundust Acorn and Bean with two versions of each tone.

The makeups are just as pretty as you expect them to be.  Very summery color pallets for eyeshadows and lips ranging from barely there nudes to hot tamale reds.  All in all a very lovely skin and a must demo for everyone!

I must confess.  I have admired Pink Fuel skins from afar, but when I wear them, they just didn’t do me justice.  When I saw the coverage on the newest skin, Elly, I thought that I would just demo it and keep on moving until I saw myself.  This skin is so gorgeous!

One thing that can be said about this skin is that there are options to be had.  The skin has 22 eyeshadow options, sold in packs of two or a fatpack.  Each skin has three different eyebrow options (two in Cocoa), freckle options, and five freaking lip package with teeth options for each lip!  I’m showing you all the lip options included in every skin package on Pure and Angelic base skins:

This skin is well worth the price and if you can fatpack it!  My only regret is that I wish Mochi would have added red brows in Cocoa (us dark girls wear red hair too, skin makers!).  All in all, I love this skin and the youthful look it gives me.  Trust me, it is a must demo skin!

According to Greek Mythology, Artemis is the goddess of the hunt and the wilderness.  With the Artemis skin from Unique Megastore, let the hunt come to you!  I’m wearing the Dark version of Artemis, but it also comes in two lighter tones.

I love that the skin is a more mature face than what Unique normally does.  In this skin, I feel like I’m an idealized version of my RL age instead of being stuck in my early 20′s.  This skin is a must demo for anyone who likes a softer, more mature face with a banging body!
