Tijuana Dress

I was feeling a little nostalgic for my summer vacation in Mexico. So with RL maracas in hand, off I went to scour the grid for a pretty dress that would take the edge off my yearning for warm places. I found this simple dress at Crazy Clothes. I love the splash of bright color against white. The charming texture on the top lined up perfectly with the pattern on the skirt prim. I didn’t have to adjust it at all. And the price? A real steal!
The Rainbow Bianco sandals from YS&YS were a perfect match for it. My beautiful tanned skin also comes from YS&YS which is my go-to store for darker skins. And I turned to elikatira for the right hair to complete my Tijuana look. Now please excuse me while I pull my RL sombrero down for a short siesta. Thoroughly Medicated for Your Safety

I recently celebrated my 5th rezday in SL™. Five years! And my SL gets better each year. This last year was the best yet. It was a year of bonding with the most awesome people in SL, a year of learning and achieving things I dared not dream of, and a year of growth in both lives. Last week, I was enthusiastically telling an RL friend about SL and the many warm and wonderful people I’ve met here. She remarked that I was ready for a straitjacket and a one-way ticket to the funny farm. My love of SL shows no signs of waning. So here I am, in my straitjacket, thoroughly medicated for your safety: Hair: Other by elikatira

Hope by LaVie

LaVie released a pretty new skin recently called Hope. It is sold in 3 skin tones: Pale, Normal, Sunkissed. I’m wearing it in Normal skin tone with Purple Heart makeup and LaVie’s Heidi shape here:
Hope is available in 16 gorgeous makeups and it comes with cleavage and hairbase options. I find the heavier makeups very useful with formal wear.
I always like to test skins on different face shapes before I buy. Here’s Hope on a few shapes from LaVie and on my personal shape as well. I hope these give you some idea of how it might look on you.
Go try it out for yourself. And while you’re there, join the group. You won’t be disappointed. Eyelashes: Flutter by Atomic

I’m wearing Anita, a beautiful gown from Miamai. Its clean uncluttered design is made up of a soft silky fabric with a gorgeous contrasting lace border. The see-through fabric at the waist and the leg-revealing skirt are delightfully flirtatious. The bejeweled collar and shoulder strap, part of this very feminine dress, add a brilliant touch. Make a trip to Miamai if you haven’t yet been there. Monica Outlander creates gorgeous evening gowns. Her designs are classy, sensual and often have unexpected prim details that will delight you. Evie’s Closet

Evie’s Closet is my go-to place whenever I’m looking for elegant evening wear. And you can even find the perfect gown for any themed formal affair here. Milli, an elegant and sophisticated gown by Evangeline Miles is one I wear every chance I get. It twirls beautifully as I dance. And I adore the understated print and pretty muted colors. Coppelia is one of my favorite gowns. It makes me feel bathed in luxury. Every time I wear it, I get compliments on the rich texture and perfectly put-together prims. If you like being “inspected” this is the dress for you. Coppelia was originally created for the Miss SL Universe 2010 contest. Amarie’s Bower has a lovely woodland nymph feel to it. This one is a sure-fire costume contest winner, especially when paired with the Secret Garden wreath in my hair. I love the laced front and the natural-looking leaves and tendrils at the shoulders and waist. Amarie’s Bower also comes with a short skirt for less formal occasions.… Read the rest

Approach with Caution

I’ve always been slightly intimidated by badass avatars. You know the kind, right? They tower over you in all their raven-haired, raccoon-eyed, foul-mouthed glory. They’re not wasting time taking names. I used to politely step aside and watch wide-eyed as they commanded a room, quelling dissidents with a single glance. That’s over now! I’m tough as nails. Bring it on if you dare. Just … y’know, be gentle. Corset: Stephanie Corset by PixelDolls
