So I’ve been working on this house for a while (slowly, because I had to go back home a couple of times because of family stuff, and then I’ve beeen on holidays), and I thought it would make a great gift for the Four walls hunt, which starts today. It will definitely be a full price release after the hunt, but for now, you can pick it up for a song. (May I suggest this one?)

What you’ll be getting is a light-filled modern beach house with large windows and a sliding door. It features 3 rooms (one at the front, two at the back), all with whitewashed walls and clean wood floors. The front room also features a multiplane glass wall in oceanic tones, which provides a striking focal point.

There’s no hint, but that’s because it’s really REALLY really easy to find. I swear.

It’s called the monochrome hunts, and the idea behing it is that each hunt will be based on a monochrome colour palette,and content designers will create an item based on/ inspired by these colours.

The first hunt will run from the 15th August 2012 to the 31st August 2012, and is themed “Swimming Pool Blues”. The picture below is the inspiration picture.

It will feature about 25 stores (I want to start small), and the hunt objects will be 5L$.

The application deadline is the 21st of July 2012.

This is not a first come first serve hunt, because I want to try and build a nice mix of stores, so please do not worry if you do not hear anything back straight away.

For some reason, I really wanted to build a soothing space with coffee shades. Very summery, I know [shakes head]. Then again, the weather feels like autumn anyway, at least in my part of the world, so it might be quite fitting after all.

And then I decided I was going to add curtains. Yeah. Why not? So there you go: a nice zen space in various shades of coffee, with texture change curtains, with a choice of browns, two teals, and a chartreuse (each curtain can be set separately, so you can of course set them all the same. Or not.)

The curtains between the rooms open and close (simply touch the curtains themselves); the curtains at the windows don’t.

52 prims, approximately 18m X 9m, minimum plot size 512. 150L$.

To access the textures menu:
For the windows curtains, touch the wooden curtain box above the set of triple windows, this will bring up a menu that will allow you to change each curtain separately.

For the curtains that separate the rooms, touch the curtain rail. You will be able to change the left/ right curtain separately.

OK, new computer ordered and on its way to me (well, I hope…), but in the meantime, I wanted to do something to kinda say “hi there, I’m still around, honest!”, so I thought I’d do a sale… It’s marketplace only (sorry): I have a nice little netbook, good for getting on the web and ordering a new computer, and check emails and such, but for logging in to SL? Anyway, the first one is the Home and Garden Market Hunt, which is on from the 18th Nov to the 2nd of Dec. My hunt item is a smaller, leaner skybox version of yesterday’s release: same textural palette, no shadows, but it does have a window set in an internal wall… Both buildings actually work really well together, in terms of dimensions; if you can overlook the lack of a door, the skybox makes for a nice little secluded retreat/ writing studio/ sewing room/ guest room/ flexible space when stacked on top of the main build.

You’re looking for an apple, and the hint is “Between a rug and a table”. All hunt items (and you can see them all on the Home and Garden Market blog, which I think is GREAT) are 10L$.

And I’m also taking part in the Traditional Christmas Hunt (well, it is that time of the year) organised by the Cookie Jar. Now, the theme for the hunt is traditional Christmas, but I wanted to build something that was a little bit less specific, if only because it doesn’t seem quite fair to exclude people who might not celebrate Christmas for whatever reason. Home was lovely (it always is), and right now, I need to force myself to get back into building mode, after doing nothing SL related for a week. I’m getting there, slowly.

In the meantime, I’m in two more hunts. The first one is called the Screaming for Fall hunt, and it started on the 31 Oct. It’s one of those short and sweet ones which you can probably finish in a couple of hours (I must admit those are my favourites, when I do get around to doing hunts). All the hunt items are priced between 0L and 10L. My hunt gift is a modern sofa in red wool/ red tweed. It’s texture change: each part of the sofa (that’s the seat, the back, and both arms) can be set separately to plain red wool or red tweed; so you can have a red wool sofa, a red tweed sofa, and any combination between the two. It’s accessorized with 3 velvet cushions, which are also texture change with a choice of 7 colours (3 blue shades, 2 purple shades, one pink shade and one brown shade). And it comes with 6 poses (for one avatar only – it’s a selfish sofa….). The hunt version of the sofa is no mod; after the hunt, the sofa will be available for sale in my normal copy/mod/no transfer permissions. It’s yours for 10L. I’m very happy to announce that I’m participating in the Season’s Palette Hunt – Autumn, which starts on the 20th of October and runs for a month. My first hunt, yay! It’s a great idea for a hunt too: all the hunt gifts are meant to be within the same colour palette (there are over 10 shades to choose from); I can’t wait to see what everybody else came up with. (I believe the hunt starts at midnight, so I don’t know if other gifts are out.)

For my gift, I build a nice roomy skyb….well, no, hang on, I think of it as a skybox, but it does have two sliding doors, so that’s probably stretching the definition a bit. Let’s call it a big (and it IS fairly big – though of course it does depend on your definition of “big”, I actually think it’s too big, but you live and learn, right?) multipurpose room. You could use it as a skybox, though, if you don’t open the doors, and anyway, it comes with a platform, so opening the doors is quite safe, really.

Fall Memories is a cozy two rooms (and a fairly roomy hallway) house with floor to ceiling windows on all sides, red brick walls, texture change floors and three texture change accent walls loaded with a choice of rich autumn colours and vintage wallpapers. There are 11 wall textures in all (only a selection is shown in the pictures below), and the 3 walls can be set completely separately. The floors are offered with 5 different wood choices. I got more and more interested in building stuff as I got less and less interested in blogging (it may come back…who knows…), and I started building this and that. I have lots of bits and pieces in my inventory right now, and four things that I’ve actually finished. Which is actually a really nice feeling. So I’ve opened up a shop called .MM.(Home) and…

…but first here are some pictures for the impatient types, so if you want to you can go and check the items in world, in case you’d rather see for yourself anyway. That’s where the free skybox is, too; it’s called The “White” mini Skybox, so you know what you’re looking for. Any problems, give me a shout.

End of preramble, now for the ramble, and in the order in which I actually finished the things…

First we have a skybox type thing. I mean, to me it’s definitely a skybox (i.e. something to be used high up – hence the fences), but it has a fair bit of outdoor space, even if most of that is taken by a pool. There’s a little garden box in the corner, for plants and stuff. You could always fill the pool with soil if you don’t care for water. It’s a very shallow pool, by the way. The build I’m talking about is Y’s House OMISE001 (actually, I love love love all of Yacchan Clip’s builds…but this was the only one that would fit on my land…).

And every now and again, I take it out of my inventory and gaze admiringly at it, and then store it back; because I simply do not have the prim allowance to really furnish it as nicely as I would like. It barely fits onto my 1024 parcel as it is.

Still, I love it. It’d be the first thing I’d save if my inventory was on fire.

You’re looking for ninja cats, but it works a bit differently from most hunts. The starting point is in the KIYOMIZU shopping mall, where you land near a rotating cube (there are 3 of them, and the surls are on this page.) Clicking on the cube will take you to a web page with the shops surls, how many cats are hidden at that location (some shops – usually the bigger ones – have more than one), and wether you have found the cat yet (or how many you have found if there is more than one).
