MM.(Home) Hibernation sale

I think the time has come. I haven’t logged in for ages, and I can’t justify keeping my premium account, at least for the time being. Real Life is taking precedence right know. I’m sure I’ll want to come back, so I’m calling this a hibernation sale rather than a closing sale. You never know. At this point, I don’t know whether I’ll keep the marketplace store open, but the inworld store will definitely diseappear. No rezzer, but all the builds are out for inspection. The subscriber will be safely stored in my inventory – if I feel the urge to work on something, I’ll send it for free to anybody who’s a subscriber. I had started work on a sofa, so that will definitely go out. After that, I don’t know. I’m not leaving SL entirely (heck, I dream of renting a whole sim sometimes), but I’m gonna be a wanderer for a while. Could be fun.

Shore Leave

So I’ve been working on this house for a while (slowly, because I had to go back home a couple of times because of family stuff, and then I’ve beeen on holidays), and I thought it would make a great gift for the Four walls hunt, which starts today. It will definitely be a full price release after the hunt, but for now, you can pick it up for a song. (May I suggest this one?) What you’ll be getting is a light-filled modern beach house with large windows and a sliding door. It features 3 rooms (one at the front, two at the back), all with whitewashed walls and clean wood floors. The front room also features a multiplane glass wall in oceanic tones, which provides a striking focal point. There’s no hint, but that’s because it’s really REALLY really easy to find. I swear. TAXI The hunt is on till the 15th September. Previews, and store SLURLs are available at: http://itsbyblue.wordpress.com/. Hunt items will be valued at 250L or more, but cost only 10L for the duration of the event

The Homestuff hunt starts today, and I’ve made an exclusive gift for it: a skybox in grayscale. Funnily enough, I’ve called it “Grayscale Living”. Sorry, these past few days have been a bit long Anyway…I hope you like it. It’s available for free for the next month. I don’t think it’s difficult to find, but there’s a hint anyway: “Hunting is tiring work…go and have a coffee And the subscriber now has a redelivery box, so that if you missed the group gift I sent a while ago, or you’re a new subscriber, you can get it by touching the redelivery tray and following the instructions. The Swimming Pool Blues Hunt

Well, I’ve wanted to run a series of hunts for a while, so here it is…. It’s called the monochrome hunts, and the idea behing it is that each hunt will be based on a monochrome colour palette, and content designers will create an item based on/ inspired by these colours. The first hunt will run from the 15th August 2012 to the 31st August 2012, and is themed “Swimming Pool Blues”. The picture below is the inspiration picture. It will feature about 25 stores (I want to start small), and the hunt objects will be 5L$. The application deadline is the 21st of July 2012. This is not a first come first serve hunt, because I want to try and build a nice mix of stores, so please do not worry if you do not hear anything back straight away. Hunt Blog Application page

Latte to go, please

I set off to build a simple skybox to get back in the swing of thing, and here’s the result (don’t ask me what took me so long…. it’s a question I ask myself….) For some reason, I really wanted to build a soothing space with coffee shades. Very summery, I know [shakes head]. Then again, the weather feels like autumn anyway, at least in my part of the world, so it might be quite fitting after all. And then I decided I was going to add curtains. Yeah. Why not? So there you go: a nice zen space in various shades of coffee, with texture change curtains, with a choice of browns, two teals, and a chartreuse (each curtain can be set separately, so you can of course set them all the same. Or not.) The curtains between the rooms open and close (simply touch the curtains themselves); the curtains at the windows don’t. 52 prims, approximately 18m X 9m, minimum plot size 512. 150L$. To access the textures menu:
For the windows curtains, touch the wooden curtain box above the set of triple windows, this will bring up a menu that will allow you to change each curtain separately.… Read the rest

Group Gift – Whitewashed

I’ve been working on stuff (honest!), and I thought it was high time for a group gift. Another version of this skybox will be out shortly (weeellll, at some point….), but I liked the rawness and minimalism of this version, so I thought I’d share it. I hope you like it too. Footprint: approx. 18m X 10 m, 30 prims, copy and mod. If you’re a subscriber, and you haven’t received it, let me know, and I’ll resend it your way.

And now for a proper sale!

Okay, so I’ve had the sale going on in the marketplace for a while (computer problems!), but I reckon it’s time to do it properly, and make it a sale in world too. So for now, everything in the store is half price, for the next week (maybe 10 days) or so. In addition, two of the skyboxes that were hunt gifts for the hunts I was in last year are now available on general release. Yes, they’re in the sale too, of course. So you can buy on the marketplace, in world, or check the demos. The Glass Room Skybox – this will be L$50 at full price, currently L$25
Bedsitland Skybox – this will be L$50 at full price, currently L$25
The “White” Skybox – was L$200, now L$100
Life In The Glass House – was L$250, now L$125
Fall Memories – was L$350, now L$175

Flash sale!

Oh. Um. Hi there. Haven’t been very active on this blog of late, have I? Haven’t been very active in SL either, I’m afraid. Was going through ome of my “uh, do I want to login?” phases (they crop up every now and again, doesn’t really bother me, it’s one of those things). Then I started feeling like I might want to get back in SL, and logged in a few times, did a bit of inventory sorting, was all set to start building again. Then my computer crashed on me. Oh great. When I say “great”, I mean “&^%$%$&*(*^%$$&*!!!!!!”, of course. OK, new computer ordered and on its way to me (well, I hope…), but in the meantime, I wanted to do something to kinda say “hi there, I’m still around, honest!”, so I thought I’d do a sale… It’s marketplace only (sorry): I have a nice little netbook, good for getting on the web and ordering a new computer, and check emails and such, but for logging in to SL?… Read the rest

White Christmas

And I’m in yet more hunts, two of them to be exact, yeah, yeah, I know, that’s probably too many, and I swear that’ll be it for a while…bear with me… Anyway, the first one is the Home and Garden Market Hunt, which is on from the 18th Nov to the 2nd of Dec. My hunt item is a smaller, leaner skybox version of yesterday’s release: same textural palette, no shadows, but it does have a window set in an internal wall… Both buildings actually work really well together, in terms of dimensions; if you can overlook the lack of a door, the skybox makes for a nice little secluded retreat/ writing studio/ sewing room/ guest room/ flexible space when stacked on top of the main build. You’re looking for an apple, and the hint is “Between a rug and a table”. All hunt items (and you can see them all on the Home and Garden Market blog, which I think is GREAT) are 10L$. And I’m also taking part in the Traditional Christmas Hunt (well, it is that time of the year) organised by the Cookie Jar.… Read the rest

Life In The Glass House

Newness! I think of this as the bastard love child of a disused factory and a Scandinavian wood house, though admittedly I might have a bit of a skewed view of both. A light and airy space, with white walls, wooden floors, huge windows (and lots of them – can’t help it, I love windows; I even puts them in internal walls!), and exposed metal beams (sure they’re a bit rusty, but that just adds to the atmosphere, if you ask me). With 3 rooms and a hallway, there’s plenty of scope for arranging the space the way you want, and the neutral colour palette will go with every style. The shadows are switchable on and off, so it’ll work whether you’re using a shadows enabled viewer or not. Demo is of course available to view inworld: [TAXI].

Falling for a sofa in bedsitland…

Heyyyyyy! I’m back! Home was lovely (it always is), and right now, I need to force myself to get back into building mode, after doing nothing SL related for a week. I’m getting there, slowly. In the meantime, I’m in two more hunts. The first one is called the Screaming for Fall hunt, and it started on the 31 Oct. It’s one of those short and sweet ones which you can probably finish in a couple of hours (I must admit those are my favourites, when I do get around to doing hunts). All the hunt items are priced between 0L and 10L. My hunt gift is a modern sofa in red wool/ red tweed. It’s texture change: each part of the sofa (that’s the seat, the back, and both arms) can be set separately to plain red wool or red tweed; so you can have a red wool sofa, a red tweed sofa, and any combination between the two. It’s accessorized with 3 velvet cushions, which are also texture change with a choice of 7 colours (3 blue shades, 2 purple shades, one pink shade and one brown shade).… Read the rest

A hunt gift and a cheapie

I’m probably publishing this a bit early…but I’m going back home for a week, which means limited internet access, and I’m leaving in about 45 minutes, so if I don’t publish this now, it’ll have to wait a week… I’m very happy to announce that I’m participating in the Season’s Palette Hunt – Autumn, which starts on the 20th of October and runs for a month. My first hunt, yay! It’s a great idea for a hunt too: all the hunt gifts are meant to be within the same colour palette (there are over 10 shades to choose from); I can’t wait to see what everybody else came up with. (I believe the hunt starts at midnight, so I don’t know if other gifts are out.) For my gift, I build a nice roomy skyb….well, no, hang on, I think of it as a skybox, but it does have two sliding doors, so that’s probably stretching the definition a bit. Let’s call it a big (and it IS fairly big – though of course it does depend on your definition of “big”, I actually think it’s too big, but you live and learn, right?Read the rest;-)

New Release: Fall Memories

I can’t stop building at the moment, but that’s all right…because I just got a notice from my local library that my reserved copy of “A Dance With Dragons” is now available, so I’m probably going to disappear for the next 3 months. Or maybe two. It’s only about 1000 pages, after all. Fall Memories is a cozy two rooms (and a fairly roomy hallway) house with floor to ceiling windows on all sides, red brick walls, texture change floors and three texture change accent walls loaded with a choice of rich autumn colours and vintage wallpapers. There are 11 wall textures in all (only a selection is shown in the pictures below), and the 3 walls can be set completely separately. The floors are offered with 5 different wood choices. You’ll never get bored. Probably. What can I say… I love it to bits, but then I would, wouldn’t I… Copy, Mod (scripts no mod), No Transfer.

A coffee table and a group gift….

This is going to be short and sweet, because it’s gorgeous outside and I need some fresh air… I had wanted to do a simple coffee table with a tiled top for a while, and I finally got around to doing it. There’s a choice of 6 wood textures (one dark, one light, and 4 medium) and 8 art deco tiles textures, it’s copy/ mod, and it’s yours for 50L. Available in world or on the marketplace. There’s also a special version for group subscribers only, with an exclusive tile pattern in four different colours. You can subscribe to the group here.
