Thrill of the Hunt

Easter weekend was a lazy time for me. I left my basket back in Albuquerque, so I decided to celebrate PurpleMoon Creations’ Dress Me Purple II Hunt instead. Tomorrow, April 10, is the last day! Look for the purple egg and find your treat. Did you know purple is often associated with royalty and power? Thus, all the treats are delicious pieces in all shades of purple. Also, they don’t cost one linden. Free can be both stylish and sexy. Here’s a lift to PurpleMoon. Happy hunting! P.S. For last minute hunters, here are the rules: 1- This hunt is free and open to public (no group membership required)
2- The object you are looking for is an egg in purple polka dot texture (like the sample pictured in the poster)
3- To receive the gift, simple TOUCH the egg!. You will be given an object that you can WEAR to UNPACK.
4- The eggs are numbered from 1 to 10.
5- There are no hints given. They are easy to find and this is more for the fun of it than anything else. They are only hidden at the GROUND LEVEL of the Main Store, no outdoors or upper level.… Read the restHunt

In like a lamb (lion)

In my personal life, March came in like a lion, so I hope it goes out like a lamb. My boyfriend turned fiancé is having a couple of issues. Truthfully, they are due to me, so I shouldn’t complain. :( His attitude, much like the weather, affects my moods. However, the beginning of March also brought Designer Showcase‘s newest range of designer goods. Mood back up. :) This round ends March 26, so plenty of time to find killer deals. Tender age in bloom

Thanksgiving is months away, but for the record, I’m thankful for Spring. While my winters are mild, I’ve always appreciated warm weather wear in real life and Second Life. Also, and I may be in the minority here, but I love the time change even though I lose an hour. I’d much rather have the sun. Dani Plassitz’s March group gift Carla Azure is the perfect combination of sun and Springtime. There’s a small enrollment fee (200L) to join Styles by Danielle’s group, but all group members receive exclusive monthly gifts (see above :) ), a 30% discount on new releases, and tons of other on the spot group gifts and discounts. Click Styles by Danielle for an in-world lift! A Turning Point: The Aftermath of Valentine’s Day

Once upon a time, my real life boyfriend used to read my blog posts, albeit on the toilet, so I guarded my words. Nowadays, he’s busy, so I sometimes use my blog as a journal. A turning point represents a change in a relationship. The change may be good, but it may also mean the end. Happily enough, my turning point does not involve a breakup, but a new challenge. It’s ridiculously easy to fall in love. However, it isn’t always easy to maintain the excitement. New relationships are invigorating. Stable, committed relationships hold the same excitement, but, for me, the anxiety of spending one’s life with one person takes over. Suffice it to say…I got over myself because I almost made the wrong choice. So…how did you spend your Valentine’s Day? Dani Plassitz’s Valentine dress Amora goes beyond February 14. Amora is available in eight shades. The high cut slit and daring bodice combined make this one of the sexiest, yet elegant, designs I’ve come across.… Read the restA turning point

Don’t let the sun go down on me

I’m so dramatic. Actually, I’m in a great mood! I don’t have many real life tattoos, okay I have four small tatts. The largest is one line of Latin between my shoulder blades. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it, so I can’t remember exactly how it is written, but it’s roughly translated into in darkness, there is light.  That saying always cheers me up! Shopping cheers me up too. Designer Showcase‘s January round will be gone on the 26th, so if you haven’t been there yet, head on down! Credits: Sunshine Laylah  Location: Hollywood

Always Alright

One of the perks of living in Vegas is not the 24-hour booze. The winter weather rocks. I need the sun. The sun’s like instant Prozac, that supplements my prescribed Prozac. Example, my work day was overwhelmingly icky and for a moment, I wanted to flip off a couple of people and take off, but instead, I stood outside and basked in the sun (no worries…my makeup has sunscreen) for awhile. It was the dose of positivity that I needed. Plus, winter wear in Vegas usually means wearing a sweater. Not bad! Dani Plassitz’s newest release Monaco would be perfect in Vegas and for anyone else who’s getting a little tired of heavy winter wear. The strapless top and pants are sold separately, so you can definitely mix and match or wear as a set. Monaco is available in eight gorgeous colors for you to choose from. It’s happy wear because it’s instant Prozac for Second Life’s winter blues. By the way, I’m also wearing Style by Danielle’s newest heel Lady Mona.… Read the restAlways Alright

World weary

I have plenty of secrets. I play Covet Fashion at work. If I had to save either my dog or my boyfriend from a burning volcano, I would choose my pups. Come on people…I want my man to save me, so, yes another secret, I am old fashioned. Lastly, I pretend to be optimistic, but my eyes really see half empty glasses and shades of gray. Sometimes maintaining the world me versus the real me is quite the burden. Feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders too? Dani Plassitz has you, literally, covered ;). Styles by Danielle is a part of this year’s Peace on Earth Hunt (POE). The grid wide hunt ends on January 6, 2015, so you have plenty of time to find Dani’s gem. It’s a fun, quirky dress for the adventurous fashionista. Styles by Danielle is store 008, so click here to look for the globe and get your prize. Happy hunting! Credits:

“Some people are worth melting for.”

Have you ever watched FrozenI absolutely love that film. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. It looks like a children’s movie, but there are many worthy moments that any adult can relate to. Now, Dani Plassitz is a person worth melting for and she’s celebrating her 5th anniversary as designer and owner of Styles by Danielle. As an added bonus, Dani found out that she was nominated in this year’s Avi Choice Award for Favorite Women’s Casual Apparel category.  My golden necklace with the Danielle logo is especially made for this anniversary. It’s free for group members, so if any Styles by Danielle fans happen to check out the awards show, it’s a wonderful way to represent. Aurora is Dani’s official 5th anniversary gown and group members may purchase this gorgeous couture gown for 299 L during the celebration week. See the twinkles below? Aurora has ultra realistic twinkling stars on the lower skirt that can be turned on and off.… Read the restFrozen

Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

Fun fact. Halloween is the eve before All Saints’ Day. After All Saints’ Day, we have All Souls’ Day.  I love that idea. I thought PurpleMoon’s group gift was a timely reminder to love those we lost by celebrating their lives. We cannot get them back, but hold onto the love. Yes, it has been one of those days. That is all. :) Credits:

…heir of nothing in particular

Tuesdays are my days off, so I spent the day at the doctor’s office.  Actually, I spent roughly 1 hour and 10 minutes at the doctor’s office.  I’ve been in Vegas for 11 months now, and I was about to run out of my prescriptions. Apparently, I’m not easy to be around if I don’t have Prozac in my system, and I was starting to mildly freak out. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Prozac, it really isn’t a ‘fun’ drug. If I want to have fun, I slam some wine. If I want to be normal, I pop Prozac. I hope I don’t pass that on one day. While I was there, the doctor asked me if anything else I wanted to bring up. My family is still in Albuquerque, so I’m a frequent flier now. My pup flies with me because he’s my emotional support and I couldn’t leave him alone (clearly, I’m also confused as to who needs who more). Now, he is my official emotional support pups as I have a letter to prove it.… Read the restheir of nothing in particular

Ladies who lunch and wear white after Labor Day

While the LBD is timeless, it can get a little boring, so I love to wear white after Labor Day. Again, I’ve always lived in dry and hot climates so I don’t have to worry about really cold weather. Although I think a snowy white coat would be gorgeous! Ah well, I’ll have to stick to my winter going out staple: the LWD.
Designer’s Showcase’s October round ends tonight! If you love LWDs as well, better get a move on. If you don’t, you’ll find both items above in other colors or print. Cheers! Laylah: Sunshine:

It’s really over

Summer is my favorite season! True, it’s brutally hot in Nevada, but I still love the idea of summer barbeques, swimming, and pool parties. I’m gonna miss you summer! I suppose fall is technically here, but mind you, I’m still dealing with 90 degree + weather, so forgive my fashion snafu. Designer Showcase’s September round, has a little bit of this and a little bit of that, if you are still prone to summer wear, but understand the fall fashion season has hit. My post is my last ode to true summertime fun and fashion. Sniff. Credits Sunshine (the blonde): Me:

Taking control of the sun

What’s on your mind? I’ve had a lot on my mind lately! My thoughts cost a bit more than a penny, but that’s only because I have a headache. Work can be rough! Styles by Danielle offered Penny in Aqua at this week’s 24 Squared event, and sadly, the event is about to end, but Penny is a sweet little dress. In fact, only 150 copies were available, so it may be gone. Floral prints make me happy. Probably not as happy as Prozac, but when the day grows long, I need any type of pick up I can get! Penny’s strapless style is wonderful for the last remnants of summer. Remember, you have control of SL’s sun, so you can let it shine all day long. Credits :

I’m gonna trade this life for fortune and fame

Okay, I can’t really trade my first or second life for fortune and fame (both combined are not worth that much), but there are some aspects of both that I would love to give away.  As for Second Life, I don’t like mass teleports or intrusive hellos from male avatars. Is that super mean? As for real life, I could totally give away my mood swings. I would have to give that away because it would be an awful trade! Second Life is a sanctuary to me, and not necessarily in the religious or spiritual sense. It’s my time to get away from real life and dress up my virtual Barbie doll. The last time I wore a gown in real life was my senior prom, so I’ve led myself to believe I’m a jeans and flip flop girl, but I never really had the opportunity to dress up. If I did (and I was at least 5 inches taller), I would totally wear a dress like PurpleMoon’s Miss Scarlett. Miss Scarlett is available in 8 colors, and I’m in love with this shade of blue.… Read the restScarlett PM close

Rocking my rack

Are you a supporter or a shopper? Why not be both? Rock your Rack is officially open and it runs until September 15. Styles by Danielle is participating in this massive event with an exclusive item. If you purchase Charlotte in pink, all proceeds go entirely to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Charlotte is available in other colors at Danielle’s main store, but Charlotte in Pink is only at the fundraiser. The outfit comes with a hud, so you’re able to make small changes, such as removing the flower, adding pink trim to the skirt, and opting for a solid colored jacket. Ultimately, the more we know about a disease, the more we can do to prevent it or treat it. Breast cancer is no exception, so show your dedication and rock your rack. Credits:
