Cheep & ChiChi Retires

..to make way for a new adventure:
I’ve recently decided that I want to re-focus my blogging and ‘Cheep & ChiChi,’ while I’ve enjoyed it immensely, no longer quite fits what I have in mind. I’ll be leaving the blog up for anyone who might like to see the archive (and for my own nostalgia!) but, after today, it won’t be updated. I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has ever stopped by, sponsored and/or supported Cheep & ChiChi – I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog and I would love to see you over on the new one some time! You can read the first post here. Best of all wishes Chia <3

Falling Embers

Just stopping by to showcase these gorgeous lashes by no.7 available at L’accessoires until December 8th.. they include a colour-change HUD with 4 metal and 8 gem colour options and I think they are absolutely stunning! This was also another opportunity for me to buy some more of my favourite DECO hair – I love the way it works with COCO‘s doll avatar and I’m kinda pleased with the way this pic turned out in general – if you’d like to see a much bigger version just give it a click as the blog layout does tend to make things pretty small. Best wishes and see you soon! <3 Credits Accessories

Working Nine to Phive

These Phunky Monkeys designed by MadPea are here to take you away from the boring rat race and bring you a whole barrel load of fun! Most can be attached to your avatar and are delightfully animated to walk alongside you, look around or do other adorable things. ‘Charlie Chimplan‘ also has a lot to say for himself.. and is freakin’ hysterical! They can be found at the fabulous Cirque de Seraphim – a fundraising event for the ASPCA jam packed with the cutest circus-themed items evah! A portion from all exclusives made for the event benefits the chosen charity (voted for by Seraphim readers) and you can also donate directly via booths scattered around the two sims. Seraphim are keeping track of the money raised here. MadPea is sponsoring the event and have also created 3 exclusive items of which 50% of all sales go to benefit the ASPCA – see those items (and the full range of monkeys!) over on the MadPea blog. Also, you can read more about the event, and see the full line-up, over on Seraphim.… Read the restWorking Nine to Phive

And I Feel Fine

It’s the end of the world as we know it.. Genre has started a new round and, this time, the theme is Post Apocalyptic. Chariot‘s contribution are these fabulous scavenged breastplates – they are modifiable so I had no trouble fitting them to my shape and the textures are exquisite, as always. There are three versions available: ‘Unstoppable‘ (pictured), ‘No Entry‘ and ‘Diverted‘ – they cost just L$50 each or you can buy all three for L$100. The round is open until December 12th and is packed full of incredible items so be sure to hop on over! I also want to mention this androgynous ‘Jahne Doe‘ skin by Deluxe Body Factory because I am utterly in love with it! It’s one of the prizes in MadPea’s latest interactive hunt/game, Blood Letters. A modifiable shape is also included but I used my own because I really like the way it looks on my current face shape. Blood Letters is an unusual and compelling murder-mystery game that unfolds a little bit each day.… Read the restAnd I Feel Fine

Haunted

click to enlarge If you’re still looking for Halloween inspiration, you should really check out what MadPea has to offer on the Marketplace – they have two stores there: older items and more current ones – there is something for all budgets and, being MadPea, the items are quirky and packed with the kind of atmosphere perfect for this time of year. Wondering where I am in the picture? Well.. I’m the table.. this fab avatar is just L$10 and I am totally in love with it.. ‘Just Desserts’ ..because it’s totally random and fun to just blend into your surroundings (assuming your surroundings make flesh-eating pies on period furniture seem normal!) I scuttled off to take this picture at the creepily fantastic Bentham Manor, which is part of the Green Mire II Hunt. Today is the last day Green Mire is open and the last day of the hunt so make sure you wrap everything up and grab your last photo opportunities while you can – there are also two new gifts to pick up if you’re in Madpea’s free-to-join group: Pea in Captivity Necklace MadPea 8000 Watch Lots, lots more is coming in November, including MadPea’s first adult only hunt – Blood Letters – I’ll be bringing you details soon, or you can always check out their awesome  official blog!… Read the restHaunted

Odile

Today is the last day of the Mystic Realms Faire so you have just enough time (I hope) to swoop over and grab this amazing and beautifully-crafted crown by Chariot which was the inspiration behind today’s outfit. There are more fab goodies to be found in sian’s stall and the fair in general is stunning, so, if you haven’t already done so and you have some free time today, I really recommend you taking this final opportunity to visit. I’ve been playing around with PicMonkey‘s newest comic book features and I like the dramatic way this turned out – particularly the dot shading on the skin (which is a beautiful L$70 bargain by Swallow currently found at The Dressing Room Fusion.) I really enjoy working on photos like this when I get the chance but I still appreciate how beautiful the items are on their own –  scroll down past the credits if you would like to see the unedited shot. Hope you’re all having a great weekend!… Read the restOdile

LOTD ~ 10-22-14: Dem Bones

I love this time of year and everywhere I turn people seem to be releasing the cutest things; there are loads of free and cheap items popping up all over the place. My dress is a new free-to-join group gift from COCO – and I absolutely love it – it’s just so sexy (with side slits you can’t see in this photo) yet casual and it’s going to be a while before I take it back off! The incredibly detailed collar is a new VIP gift from Remarkable Oblivion. This group costs L$50 to join but there are a whole bunch of amazing gifts available for such a tiny price. The super-cute hair with eyeball bows is by LaViere and can be found at Trunk or Treat – this colour is from the red fatpack, which is totally free, and I think I remember the other packs only being priced at L$80 each. A HUD to change the colour of the bows is also included. Trunk or Treat is a kid-friendly event but there is plenty for adults to enjoy too – most carts seem to have a freebie and it’s a lovely little market to look around – it ends on November 5th, so be sure to visit before then.… Read the rest102214LOTD Dem Bones

Sons of the Silent Age

The inspiration for this post came from some incredible new accessories by sian of Chariot – ‘Cyborg Fashion‘ includes 5 items in 2 colours each and is available at The Gathering Gacha Event until October 15th, all items are commons (no rares in the machine at all) and they cost just L$50 per play. The event itself is full of other equally yummy things so go take a look over the next few days, while you still can. I’m a little slow blogging at the moment as I’m busy preparing my own little store for some upcoming hunts, please bear with me – I hope to be back up to speed soon! In the meantime – love and hugs <3  Credits Clothing & Accessories

I Want to Believe

MadPea’s latest hunt Green Mire II – The Gathering is well under way – I had huge fun following it, especially as it’s not the traditional hunt we’ve become accustomed to where you hop from sim to sim looking for the same hidden object. Instead you wear a HUD and follow the story of the path you’ve chosen – the object (or person!) you’re looking for can vary greatly from place to place as you’re basically tracking down clues as you become immersed in the unfolding tale. Some of the items can be challenging to find but there is always lots of friendly help in the MadPea group should you need it and, because the story is so engaging, I found that took a lot of the usual hunt frustration out of it as you really feel involved with what you’re doing. I completed both paths and I think the time commitment amounted to a few hours (I completed it in stages and had a good look around some fab sims I’d not seen before!) – you can always go back to where you left off, too, so it’s easy to just dip in and out as suits you.… Read the restI want to believe

Regarding Donations and Fundraisers

I’m writing this mostly in response to some posts I’ve seen on Plurk about the Love Ulaa fundraiser I was involved in but it’s something that’s been on my mind for a while as negativity always seems to pop up when such events are held. Like I’ve said time and time again, one of the things I love about Second Life is that people come together to help each other out in awesome and amazing ways. The flipside to this is that there are some that treat that suspicion and distaste – calling the recipient’s life into question and making those who contribute out to be gullible fools. I wanted to reply on Plurk, but it’s a restrictive forum and I always end up getting wordier than I intend. So I’m posting this here and will link back where appropriate. … People who ask for help (or have fundraisers arranged for them, etc) are just that – people asking for, or seen to be in need of, help. They are not accountable to anyone – they are not registered charities who need to present their accounts or justify their causes.… Read the rest

Retro Nostalgia

click to embiggen.. I have been having such a lovely time with MadPea‘s Rewind & Play collection for The Arcade. So many of these items bring back childhood memories for me and the extra little touches and features have really been making me giggle. Evey item is interactive so you truly can play with these adorable toys! It’s hard to pick favourites but the custom pictures in the ‘Wind & Watch‘ and the brilliantly rude ‘Crazy Jack‘ have made me laugh so hard! I’m always blown away by everything MadPea produces – it’s why I jumped at the opportunity to become a dedicated blogger for them – but the quality of these items is honestly astounding – I get a such a sense of tactile-ness from them, as if I can almost really feel their textures.. I really recommend you check them out for yourselves! Now please excuse me while I go wake up Jack again.. later! <3   Credits Clothing & Accessories

Running away from the circus..

enlarge meh! Yay for the weekend! Although, the end of the month has just kinda crept up on me and I nearly forgot I wanted to show you some amazing items available at this month’s round of We Love Role-Play which is ending very soon! This hat of yummy-texture-goodness is by sian and can be found in 5 individual colours or in a fatpack with 2 more, exclusive, colours. Check out the vendor pic here to see the others. I love blogging sian’s creations because they really help me to create more unusual outfits.. and I hope you like this one because I really enjoyed putting it together! The skirt, top and collar is from Eudora 3D and are also to be found at We Love Role-Play – available in sets of 6 colours or as a fatpack, vendor piccy here. Full credits and slurls further down. Items at We Love Role-Play are discounted so, while they may be available in their respective mainstores soon, you might not find them at these prices again – so do take a good look around the event this weekend while you still can!… Read the restRunning away from the circus

Enchantress of Dragons

La Metallique Fair opened on August 15th and I was lucky enough to cover the event for Seraphim – this always gives me an opportunity to really look in great detail at the items available at an event and I was particularly blown away by what is on offer here. Organised as a celebration of L’accessoires‘s second anniversary, the fair is packed full of fabulous jewelry, shoes, bags and other accessories on a metallic theme. I’m truly spoiled for choice as to what to blog and I do hope I have the chance to post more before the event closes, but I needed to show you some of the designs made by Alienbear Gupte because they are just breathtaking! I love dragons – I particularly love Chinese dragons – so you can imagine the squee’ing echoing around my head when I saw these. The detail in each and every piece is incredible and photographs so beautifully – I had so much fun working on the pics that I had to tear myself away to actually blog them ( a raw shot is included further down so you can see a couple of items in their unedited glory.) A copy version of the dragon scale bracelets is a completely free gift for the duration of the event and a couple of the items are totally exclusive to the event and won’t be available later.… Read the restEnchantress of Dragons

Wascally Wabbit

This month MadPea took part in the Bleeping Bunny Hunt which ended on the 15th (I know, I’m sorry).. but the great news is that the mini side-hunt that they ran as a sponsor is being left up until the end of the month so you still have time to have some fun and get your hands on the fab hunt prizes priced at just L$5 each. The Mini-Hunt will give you clues to different locations around The Green Mire – some objects will contain more clues (these are free to buy) and some will contain prizes such as the slippers and filthy-mouthed shoulder pet (modifiable so you can tone down the chat if you prefer!) pictured here. Find and click on the poster to receive your first clue and happy hunting! Pretty much everything else I’m wearing is also by MadPea – you can find these other goodies and more free group gifts in the big hangar at the landing point. It’s always worth a good rummage around there, you never know what you might find! Also, if you’re in the mood for more puzzles (and haven’t yet completed it) see if you can solve The Green Mire Mystery which paves the way for the new hunt starting next month..… Read the restWascally Wabbit

LOTD ~ 08-19-14: One, Two, Three, Four, Five

I’ve had this incredibly cute hair from Pink Hustler sat in my inventory since I saw it in another blog (I wish I could remember which one so I could credit appropriately but I’m afraid it was months ago!) I was reminded of it as soon as I saw this adorable dress from BOOM at the Olive You fundraiser and couldn’t wait to put the two together. Olive You is full of brand new items from some amazing designers who are all giving 100% of the proceeds to help the owner of Olive raise some money towards court costs as her family fight to save their home, and it’s open until the end of the month. A couple of other things I want to note – these beautiful eyes are from Langly and are only L$1 for a pack of 3 on the Marketplace, and the eye makeup by Angelica can currently only be found at The Gallery Gift Shop‘s Anniversary event which ends soon. Oh, yes, and the fish in the hair are animated (squee!) Thank you for reading! <3 Credits Clothing & Accessories

When Snails Attack! (Kagami 2014)

I’ve waited to post about sian’s awesome items (more about these after the next pic) for this Japanese horror themed event because I wanted to be able to experience it fully for myself – and I’m so glad I have because it’s truly amazing! There is so much to see and do – I really took my time and spent a good few hours there (in sessions) but I still feel like I want to go back and do more. You land at the market area and from there you can pick up a HUD and instructions on how to play the game in which you follow and interact with an unfolding storyline.. a kind of puzzle adventure. The theme is horror but it’s creepy in parts rather than terrifying and I found the overall atmosphere interesting and endearing.. and the builds are beautifully done. It’s also completely free to play! I’m seriously impressed with all aspects – it’s just so fun and engaging and with the main puzzle, hunt & mini games within the game, there is lots to see and do!… Read the rest

My item for <3 Ulaa – please help Ulaa see her mom!
Originally posted on by Chiana Oh: New canvas for the Love Ulaa fundraiser – inspired by the bond between parent and child. Ulaa’s mother has been diagnosed with cancer and has been unable to see her daughter for 14 years, nor meet her grandson, due to distance, health and financial issues. Ulaa has been raising money for an urgent trip home on gofundme and now it’s time for the Second Life community to come together to show some love. Love Ulaa has been organised by the fab Tracy Rubble, giving designers a chance to offer you some of their items with 50% or 100% of proceeds being donated directly to this worthy cause. You can read more about the event on Tracy’s blog here or visit the gofundme page here. The event runs from August 14th – 18th – with a party being organized at Rouge for the 16th

Stand4Love 2014

Stand4Love is a fabulous campaign founded by RicoRacer Flux & Editorial Clarity. Their mission statement:
“Our goal is to spread awareness that two consenting adults should have the right to love and marry regardless of their race or sexual orientation. If we can open someone’s mind and promote tolerance and equality, then our goal has been achieved.”
Read more, including details on how to get involved, on their blog. Equality in love, indeed in all things, is something I believe very strongly in and it is my absolute pleasure to once again show my support and hopefully spread the word. I can never talk about matters of equality without pausing to appreciate how incredibly fortunate I am.. I’m white, I identify with my birth-gender and, although I finally realised in my late 20s that I’m definitely bi-sexual, my few rl relationships have all been with men and therefore have always been deemed ‘socially acceptable.’ That doesn’t mean I’ve never been the target of prejudice but I’m well aware how much of it I escape compared to others.… Read the restStand4Love - Chiana Oh
