Below you will find the ever detailed offering from Isla Gaelach of Cheeky Pea, the Alice Garden Set.  As is one of Isla’s strongest creative qualities, amazing detail, the set does not fail to offer realism that is simply top notch.  Just take a look at the horseshoes, the lawn darts and cricket set!  I am in awe of the detail in each and every new offering from Cheeky Pea but this set truly has some details that I have no words for, they are that awesome.  Have a closer look at the hammock, the detail in the ropes and take a higher look up at the lighting, you can clearly see that this is a set to be admired and enjoyed.

Curly hair, wavy hair for that matter is hard to find in SL, at least short styles that look realistic.  When I find one, I usually wear it like crazy because I love wavy hair.  This great style I am wearing is from UW.st who made their first appearance for TMD last round.  A great style, just perfect, full of curls that are wild yet styled and worthy of getting fingers run through it.

I’ve been trying to wear other colors that I like, and not ONLY red, though red is and always has been my favorite color since I was a toddler.  Spring is colorful, and I am trying to keep that colorfulness in my SL and RL wardrobes, it just makes me happy.

Another thing I have been trying out is exploring new locations for my photographs.  So far it has been great fun and I plan to keep it up as much as I can.

My great skin is from Belleza, it is Eric, the Belleza Best Buys edition which is only 400L during the Belleza Best Buys sale event from today until April 7th.  A great time to freshen up your skin!  Have a great week and hey its almost TGIF!

Today was one of those days where everything piled up on me from worries to my illness, and the most stressful Gabriella being in hospital in pain after a procedure she had to have this week.  I needed to get away, to clear my head and try to recoup my energies so I can continue to be productive and supportive.

The Kensington Bicycle Pose Prop from What Next was perfect for me to get away in my virtual world where I am more limited in my real life to take off and clear my head.  This is why I love poses and props, the creations in SecondLife that we can not have or use in our real life, come to us in our virtual life to enhance in my opinion, both worlds.

I had fun with the bicycle, recalling days of my youth riding my bike across the sunset desert tapestry of Santa Fe, New Mexico and later back in the swamp lands of Covington, Louisiana.   Where will your poses and photographs take you?

I love BIRTH beards, so many styles and not just the run of the mill, which make the skins very unique.  I only wish the beards were available as a tattoo layer to purchase separately to add to any dudes wardrobe.

Offering Vince in many different shades, from the palest of near white to dark Drow near jet black, the range is amazing.  You get options of hairbase or none, happy trail or none to make it more what you desire.

Aside from the beards another of my favorite features on a BIRTH skin are the eyebrows. I have thick dark eyebrows in real life, that I keep well kept, which is why when I see a skin with bushy untamed brows I will not even try it on, that’s not the case with this line of skins, the brows are just like what I like.  Vince has a nice prominent thick clean set of brows that I look forward to   wiggling at Mrs. Raynier’s derriere!

Skin Fair 2013

NIVARO Baptiste

Nivaro brings to the Skin Fair another great addition to their skin line called Baptiste.  I have worn my Nivaro skin for a long time and no matter what happens, I always go back to it as it just me.  The new Baptiste is another look that feels great on me and will likely be my new upgrade skin for this year.

I normally wear the summertone but the springtone of Baptiste really appealed to me as it is still in the nice cinnamon skin tones that I associate with my avatar being a combination of Spanish/French Cajun.

With great definition, a wide range of skin tones and great brows, unique parted hairbase, it has all the qualities for a fantastic base skin that you can add all the awesome Nivaro beards to.

I have on a Nivaro Brando shape as well, and there will be several available for you to choose from at the Fair or in the mainstore as well.

As with my prior post, no alterations in Photoshop have been made except for putting it all in the framing I use.  There are no edits so that you can see the skin for itself, however be certain you try it on to see what it truly looks like on you.

For Skin Fair 2013 FRUK is offering Jeremy, a new male skin that has major versatility.

I did not take the shots of the skin with any attachments, no fancy ears or mesh hands, that way you can see it very raw to get a feel for the core of the skin.

Absolutely no editing has been done to the images here, I put them in a frame and that is all.  Windlight settings were used from the Firestorm viewer for a little depth.  As always you are encouraged to try out demos so that you can see what it looks like on you with your shape or try the shapes FRUK has to offer.

I really like the smoothness of this skin and the subtle contours in the body.  Not overly muscular and not lacking in tone at all.  It can definitely be used for a wide array of ages and styles.  The hairbase is great with a subtle fade and short burns.

I went with a lighter tone than I usually wear on myself but it was just such a great coloring that it became my favorite right away.

When Skin Fair opens, be sure to check out all the facial hair that FRUK has to offer, they have tons!

I have had conversations here and there with other residents about events in SL and often they do not know where to keep track of what is going on, or haven’t heard about certain events on the proverbial SL street.  I always point residents to SeraphimSL and urge them to add Seraphim to their RSS reader or subscribe in some fashion to keep up to date with the events they cover.

Another hang-up some residents have mentioned, and this is mainly the guys, feeling there is nothing at those events for the dudes.  Not true!  For example, this round of Collabor88 has Atro Patena putting out a new version of Nicholas, aptly named Nicholas II.  We also of course thankfully have the amazing event The Men’s Department which has been a fantastic event for men BUT not limited to just the male gender.  That’s what I love about events, you can find a little of everything at most of them, it just takes a little looking around and often the courage to look outside the (Read more...)

Respite

The Mens Department opened today!  What a great round, full of fun items, lots of decor and a theme that says to me games and relaxation.

Since I am laid up with a back injury on top of all my other illness related  stuff, I’ve had to make a cozy spot in my room to watch movies, play video games and above all else keep iced up and drugged out.  Like my SLife space, my real space pretty much looks like this just substitute the cozy chair for my bed and the pin-up girls for Catwoman inks by Jim Lee and you have the Chance recovery ward!

Hemingway Dreams

I am wearing this great jacket from villena, which comes in male AND female sizing!  A great texture HUD is included for the scarf and it also comes in moss.

You likely know by now I love facial hair, and the more realistic to how I like it in real life the better.  This TMD round FRUK has a great skin line for us, but they also put out this FREE facial hair.

Insufferable Dastard is my choice for eyes for mine are aqua and it is not the easiest shade to find.  This round they are offering the Glare series in many different colors to suit your eye needs.

Uw.st joins the TMD family this round bringing two hairstyles this month.  I am wearing the Seth, it has a nice swept back motion but I did have to wear a hairbase with it or it was a bit too far back for my shapes forehead.  Keep this in mind when you try the demo so that you can get the feel of  how it will lay on your avatars skull.

K_gs is back with a very stylish set of glasses.  I am a huge fan of K_gs for eyewear because the creator has so many options, from changing the texture of the frames to the lenses and that makes it so versatile for the wearer to go sunglasses or reading glasses with each set.  This particular pair is very much like (Read more...)

The new HUD has color options and placeholders for additional items to come ie scarves, hats, jackets, all categorized and with the ability to color multiple sections of each item.  Very simple, and very handy, so thank you Damien for making what was already perfect, even more amazing.

I love glasses, I wear them in real life and enjoy finding new frames that have a little something unique to them or just a really classic clean feel.  The Iruco gacha is full of great glasses for this round of the Arcade and I am loving this pair of the blow glasses in black.  They come in other colors, so try your luck when the Arcade opens its doors March 1st!  I was lucky and got the black and red on my first tries and a nifty pair to share with Mrs. Raynier.  

I have been blogging a lot the past few days, despite still being sick with bronchitis and a bacterial infection in my sinuses.  I am thankful that I have been able to do so, it helps me feel less like a sick zombie and though it is a struggle to trudge through (Read more...)

I have been a huge fan of Apple Fall, he is an extraordinary creator, master of mesh and just simply brilliant.  Everything Apple Fall makes has such magnificent detail and you know that he loved creating it and wants you to enjoy it in your SecondLife.  Not only is he an amazing creator but he is one of the absolute nicest fellows I have ever had the privilege to have a conversation with.  A true artist with a great heart, it’s no surprise this photo booth shows those two fantastic qualities he possesses .

I can’t even begin to describe the magnificently created Circus from Intrigue Co. Katharine McGinnis has simply captured one of the most beloved things in life for me, circus by way of little plushies.  And not just any plushies, these are so detailed I truly have to say that in real life I would pay big money to have them, especially my favorite animal, the tiger!

Check out what happens when you touch the plushies!  They tell their story!

I will have the privilege of bringing you a sneak peek of some of the items you will be striving for this great round of the Arcade.  So keep an eye out and in the meantime, check out the official sites for official information, the creator line-up and their amazing item advertisements!

Here is a sneak peek of the {what next} The Anywhere Lawn Chair (guys-red).  I love this lawn chair because it’s not the typical chair you place out in your yard or home, nope, this beauty goes WITH you.  Winter Thorn craftily created the Anywhere Lawn Chair so that you wear it and take it with you which is awesome for those no rez areas, and pretty much anywhere you want to go and sit.  When you fly it keeps you in the sit position and when you walk it puts you in a crouched like carrying your chair position which I must admit had me laughing.

Be sure to walk forward after attaching to engage the sit animation and walk/lift animation.  As always with an item such as this, turn off your AO so that it does not override the chairs animations.

You can get this great chair in many different colors at the Arcade when it opens March 1st!  Get ready, it is going to be one amazing ride!

Isla Gaelach of Cheeky Pea created the amazing MapMe Antigue letters for this round and I gotta tell ya, mesh letters with map roads upon them, badass!  They also come in the non-antique.

floorplan has two items to offer this TMD and one is a must have for all Sci Fi and 80′s fans.  The Flux Capacitor!  It has beautiful detail and it flashes with subtle strobe light.  Also the oh deer wall decor, which I really like, the antlers are just perfect.

Grab a seat in the new Shell chairs from HANDverk, the detail is fabulous.

Not sure what to wear for Valentine’s day, go grab this great shirt/tie/cardigan ensemble from Pumpkin.  Two versions, one with hearts on the shirt and one in plain white.  Go for the hearts, that special someone will love them!

Who doesn’t want a new skin from Belleza for 150L!  Belleza is offering  an exclusive updated version of Jacob and he will be available at The Mens Dept on Febuary 5th.

This is such a great skin, versatile and has the stylin’ chin beard which is a favorite of mine.

Damien Fate has just released the new Edward suit line at FATEwear.  This suit goes far beyond anything else he has released and that is saying a great deal as he strives already to go above and beyond.  The Edward line contains 7 different looks!  You can wear it in a full three piece suit (shirt, tie, waistcoat, jacket) or you can casual it down to the point you only wear the shirt untucked, no tie.  With every combo in between and an exceptional over the shoulder jacket option (including animation) the dapper dresser has only the limitation of his imagination with this new line.

HANDverk released two beautiful skyboxes that I am thoroughly impressed with.

The  Longchamp skybox is HANDverk’s first store release of 2013 available in the single and double.  The Longchamp is a simple, elegant, all mesh skybox for either residential or commercial use. It is ultra low prim and the single size can fit on as small as a 512 sq.m. parcel.

What immediately came to mind when I rezzed the skyboxes on our sim was that it could be so many different things! I will be using it for a library/study as well as a vacation apartment.  You can utilize it in so many ways and at the low prim count it is sure to appeal to many different needs.

Going with the study first, I packed it full of Dutchie furniture, wanting to highlight the elegant spaciousness of the skybox itself and to focus on the mesh version of the maledom chair that Dutchie has packed full of animations to enjoy.

As many of you already know, this weekend was GOS Boutique’s first release of this exceptional open toed line.  I dubbed it GOStastic Saturday, and sent Mrs. Raynier to buy all the fatpacks!  It was worth every single penny.  The shoes are exquisite but the added convenience of GOS’s fluid and fast new ONEtime skin matching hud makes it so the frustration is gone from wearing beautiful shoes.

Mrs. Raynier has always had a hard time matching her skin to her shoes, something always seeming off and her grumbling and cursing can be heard throughout our sim!  But those days are (Read more...)

I was very pleased to see a lovely skybox by PILOT this round which I am leaving on my sim for good.  The simplicity of it is just perfect and the beamed ceiling adds something completely fresh yet classic to the structure.  The tones are warm, inviting and offer a great canvas to brighten it up or keep it tranquil.  Hardwood floors and bay windows add to the crisp clean feel, making this a structure with endless possibilities.

Cheeky Pea creative genius Isla Gaelach never ceases to impress me with her furnishings and decor.  The Ansel set for Collabor88 is inline with this lovely fresh, crisp feel for the new year.  With an emphasis on lighting, subtle to charming, the tonal qualities of the furnishings and decor truly bring to mind an Earthen feel, which for me equals cozy and safe.  The exceptionally detailed atrium is rather mesmerizing and brings life to this room in a rather magical way.  Rustic tables to place old well worn and loved books, candles and the like speak of a home that is lived in rather than a museum to just admire.    The seating come in two types; PG & (Read more...)
