I was having a relaxing evening in my own home, trying to decide where to go this evening, and at my vanity table enjoying new releases from cheLLe and FLAIR for COSMETICS FAIR which opens tomorrow.

New mascara, new eyeshadow and nail polish – surely this means it’s going to be a fine evening. New makeup is always a good omen.

I told someone I work with that Gidge without nail polish is like ballistic gear without Kevlar. Pointless, and powerless. I was lost in the happy feeling of new pretties for a few minutes, I admit it – I love new makeup and polish.

And that is when I saw something move behind me. And bump into me. And move some more. I jumped up and cammed around and….

Suddenly, its 2009 in my bedroom and a lover of the highest order has come to sweep me off my feet. It went exactly like this.

My next year in school I signed up for a different Shakespeare class, promising three plays in six weeks. I was delighted. I wanted to learn more, I was excited to grow my catalog of Shakespeare’s characters. The first day of class our teacher excitedly announced a change in syllabus, we’d be doing HAMLET for the first six weeks.

I nearly cried.

The story of Hamlet, it’s visceral nature, it’s tragedy and the lost love within it became lost to me as I once again dove in to the space between the words for six weeks. I gave up on Shakespeare. Nice stories, but too tedious.

Until 1996 when Kenneth Branagh released Hamlet and I begrudgingly traipsed along to the theater because Kenneth Branagh is hot. (He is, hush).

I have been on a quest for the pinkish typewriter from Floorplan and after several days, I found it and danced with joy when I took it home to begin writing my masterpiece. But what to write?

It’s hard to know where to start. Sometimes I have so many things I want to get out. I want to say them all, to make sure that you know what I think and that there is no mistake how I feel. It took me a while but I think I finally sorted it out.

I think this covers it.

Tuli just released Sara V2 and as always, it’s an elegant, delicate skin that I can’t lie, I adore. She’s a master of soft tones and subtle elegance.

For many people, there’s tweaks and adjustments that make them and their avatar unique. Some of the best bloggers though, are those who control their light and force the grid to do their bidding without the aid of PS or other tools.

You have to start somewhere, and making something simple is always the best way. So what I’m going to do is teach you the way I learned. Who knows, maybe you’ll be a new Strawberry Singh or Gogolita when you get good enough at it. Cajsa’s a pro, but this is beginner stuff. This is how to do it if you really really don’t even know where to start.

The very first thing I do, I choose EDIT SKY PRESET from the WORLD menu, and pick one that is close to what I want to do. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel when someone has already started making that rock round. I am wanting to create a windlight preset that works well for skin blogging. I want bright, but not TOO bright, and a lumiscent glow that doesn’t look crazy.

I started with the basic 12pm setting.

I would never have thought it but it seems like I’m running a daily habit of being social . It’s a nice change from being a hermit in my own house, or out shooting on location. I have now, three days in a row, actually seen and interacted with other toons that I calls friends.

My friend Isla invited me over to her place for some night swimming and visiting. Dani was there too, but I only got half of her in the pic so I cropped her out. PLEASE LOVE ME ANYWAY DANI!

I’m wearing an item that’s a STEAL from Somnia, 10L for a swimsuit pack at THE WASH. If you’re like me, you’re a “wear it once then be done swimsuit” girl, so that’s a great deal.

This really makes me want this floatie from MIAMAI for my own RL pool. Why do kids get all the great floaties?

There is something to be said for Sundays away from the computer. You miss a lot of name calling and raging and shenanigans. It seems like, on Sundays, our friends are unable to defend themselves and require us to rage against people that they may or may not be mad at. It also seems like, everything and everyone can’t just like, don’t worry be happy.

I however, opt for the latter. I made jello. Jello is, in my belief, one of the finest treats around. I am considering making something that I am told Australians love, Fairy Bread. I don’t know yet, that’s a maybe.

I’ve had my moments. I regret them, and try to treat people with civility. This is my entertainment, and my happy place. I have apologized to the people I spoke ill of. And I’ve let go the people who wrong me, called me names, etc. Because it really doesn’t matter.

I am a Libra. We require balance. I have achieved it.

I wish peace and balance for you. It really is an easier Second Life when you find it.

I had just picked up this adorable manicure from Marketplace made by Alicia Chenaux when I realized OMG COLLABOR88! MUST SHOP!

After wading through the crowds of people I think I am pretty happy, after all, the 90s themed pieces released are fun and kicky, alluding to that time before greasy hair and flannel took ahold of us.

So many boxes came home with me, it was nearly tragic.

Nearly, not really though. It wouldn’t have been complete without these shoes, which back in the day we called China flats.  They are singularly my favorite shoe style ever. I’m a product of my generation.

I wish my dinner would just make itself. I’m beat.

Growing up we had a family tradition of vacationing at the Gulf of Mexico. All people from Indiana do so, from what I can tell. Once we had settled into our hotel, my mother and I traditionally went to a ladies “beach store” and we each got one nice sundress, matching flip flops and sometimes a necklace.

Shell necklace obviously.

We weren’t under delusions that it was fashionable. What it was, was awesome and fun. We’d wear them when the sun went down and go to a beach front restaurant be consider ourselves dressed up “for the beach”.

That was what I thought of when I put on the summer dress from Sascha’s that she’s released on sale for the 60L weekend. I’m also PREVIEWING…..YEAH PREVIEWING the new CLAWTOOTH hair for Collabor88.

Two more squee moments for me this morning – one is the new Belleza release for Belleza’s best buys- very clean and simple, I’m wearing pale. I really like the nose shading it works well with my shape. Always love this shade of pink lipstick, I can’t pull it off in RL thus I covet it.

And omg, Photos Nikolaidis has released a new set of eyes at Vision by A:S:S and these are sublime. I have always liked his eyes, and this set is amazing.

So anyway it’s Friday. Let’s get out there and stimulate the economy!

1. Under My Umbrella: A celebration of color and looking back at May’s Collabor88 which is getting ready to close. You need to run fast if you want to get any of the goodies and this post was a great reminder of what is going to be gone soon soon soon soon.

2.Caged Bird: Khitten Kurka brings the curvy avatar to us in a sexy way. She’s one of my favorite curvy bloggers and always presents crisp clear photos and inspires shopping. Her styling in these photos is concise and relevant. Nicely done.

3. Season For Sundresses: My friend Sylvia always presents such nice shots of her fashion finds. I especially love her second photo in this one, bringing her avatar’s freckles front and center. She’s also showing off a gorgeous necklace from CAE – one of my favorite jewelers.

4. Amelia and Oscar:  This photo reminds me of the movie Orlando. I don’t know why. But it does.

Both pixel and RL Gidge hate deciding what to wear. When I say hate, I mean dislike with the fire of 1000 suns. It’s not that we don’t WANT to get dressed and be cute. It’s that, there’s decisions. And more decisions. Pixel Gidge has an inventory the size of the grid. And RL Gidge isn’t much better.

Thus we both tend to sit about not quite done, wondering what to put on next.

That’s why I’m blogging SHAPE and UNDERWEAR TODAY! 

Tuli has released new shapes and I thought I’d bring you one today.  I’m pretty dogmatic about shape. Shape is your LOOK, your signature. How important that IS to you though, is up to you. Some people are shape chameleons and it’s just another part of the fun and fantasy. Others are like me and our shape is a huge part of our identity. So we’re very hesitant to make changes.

But with summer and swimsuit season upon us, I thought that maybe, just maybe it wouldn’t hurt to cast around and see if there was anything that caught my fancy. We diet for summer in RL, why not change shapes in SL?

I am wearing the “curvy” version of shape number four. The shapes come with hourglass, curvy and natural versions.  Curvy is relative. This isn’t as curvy as my regular shape, but far curvier than the stick model shapes some folks like. It’s nicely proportioned and nothing about it makes me go DAMN BIG XYZ.

Sometimes real life gets too real and my avatar and I need fantasy STAT. My favorite aspect of having a Second Life playground is the ability to choose a climate, real or imaginary, and immerse myself in it. I suppose it’s a primal urge, the rush to the sea that so many of us get in SL. It’s not just a luxury, something calls us there, there is nothing as relaxing and calming to me as time at the sea.

Even a virtual one.

I’m wearing Tuli’s ZOE in petal tone, it might be a perfect summer tone for a pale girl. I’m also wearing a gorgeous messy up do from D!va. Perfect for beach days, I think.

So I have NEWS! If you remember the FLUX events, the Mardi Gras, the Taxidermia event, then you might be excited to learn that FLUX is returning with a new monthly THEMED event. What’s fun about FLUX is that it isn’t a big discount room full of crap you don’t need, rather it’s a themed event where invited creators are releasing lovely items based on that month’s concept.

The first concept in the hopper is AMERICANA and I’ve got a sneak peak at the EASY RIDER boots from Memento Mori by FLUX creator GHOST MANNEQUIN. You’ll have to wait till July but it’s shaping up to be an AWESOME event.

The Americana theme put me in mind of summer fun in my youth, so I sought out a fair, complete with clowns sending me to my doom.

It’s not even summer without some sort of ridiculous ice cream treat, and I got this one at THE ARCADE it’s green tea and vanilla omnomnomnom.

It’s a cute carnival. Despite the killer clowns who want me dead.

It’s happened. The flurry of lindens stimulating the economy are flowing as everyone goes MAD collecting at THE ARCADE and picking up the amazing new releases in mesh at FAMESHED.

I thought the billiards dress from Trompe Loeil (The Arcade) might be a bit too masculine for my girly abode but no, I put some flowers and myself on it and it’s plenty girly. Cory Edo is mad for cute drawer pulls, these are adorable as well.

She has also released the next part of her Cobble Hill series of furniture, a beautiful suit with side tables, dressing bench, art for the walls and table lamps. I love how this set treads the line nicely between masculine and feminine. It can go either way based on the color scheme of bedding you choose. The pillows are inviting and just made me yawn.

Belleza’s release for ARCADE – Ellie is an elegant new look and since Gidge is a bleach blonde she doesn’t mind the dark eyebrows on this one AT ALL!

So anyway, if you didn’t go shopping yet what on EARTH are you waiting for?

The bed’s made the apartments swept and dusted, and now I can’t decide how to spend my weekend! Fill it with mirth? Get some work done? Actually see friends in SL for a change?

I decided to check on plurk, and while there are a few ideas brewing I still remain undecided. I think I’d like to get out and about and do some exploring maybe! Arcade opens tomorrow, I think that means that everyone on the grid will be THERE and there will be lots of space elsewhere.

One of my favorite new editions to my pixel life is my purple kitchen from Trompe Loeil. It’s absolutely gorgeous and beautifully detailed down to the nobs, I seriously love everything about it.  I couldn’t properly fit the FULL kitchen into my tiny alcove kitchen space DAMMIT, but luckily Cory Edo was kind enough to include all the pieces individually so you can rez what you have prims for and space for! SO SWEET!

I have to admit, I rezzed the adult version not even thinking about it. One of the options was “eat out”. I thought OH CUTE it’s going to rezz some chinese take out boxes or something.

That wasn’t it. That wasn’t it AT ALL.

After I composed myself, and briefly wondered how to get the husband back from Azeroth…I realized I needed to finish cleaning up our breakfast and find something to do at least for today. So I snatched up Sophie and decided we’d wing it.

And that’s when it started pouring rain again.

I have now spent three days attempting to shop at the Home and Garden Expo to support Relay for Life. With all of the shenanigans with Ionic ripping RL tiny artists (seriously don’t even argue with me – that case is closed), I wanted to go and BE SUPPORTIVE of the event and charity.

And then I actually tried to go.

The first morning, I had like an hour. I found a slurl someone had posted and ended up in an area that was really not interesting. I had a little time to explore though, and didn’t feel like being “SHOP AND GET OUT” so I wandered. Then I crashed. Then, when I tried to go back, the sims were offline. All of them.

I asked on plurk and was told “Yeah that keeps happening.” I can’t validate that. But I know that for the rest of my log in time that day, they weren’t back.

The next day I had about 30 minutes, it was crunch time. I had a short list of things I REALLY wanted and creators I REALLY wanted to support. Lag. Ok, I know they’ll be lag. Lag. I ask – is there a list of slurls? I get point to THIS. This is not a list of slurls. This is a list of slurls to the SIMS. WHO IS ON WHAT SIM? HOW DO I GET THERE?

I also was shown a map I can’t blow up nor read. I tried to read the maps at the event but again they were so small I can’t read them. It seems like it SHOULD blow up so maybe that’s just my PC.

The problem with wearing purple eyes, I find, is that so many people make them the purple version of “Children of the Corn” blue. So distracting that you can’t see ANYTHING ELSE in the damn photo, because of the freakishly toned eyes.

Your eyes should compliment and enhance your avatar.  Yes, even fantasy eyes should.  If your eyes make others go WTF, you should rethink them, unless WTF was your styling goal.

Vision by A:S:S makes gorgeous mesh eyes that always includes your old standby system eyes for us luddites. I AM in fact wearing the mesh eyes this time though.

I found this flamingo in my inventory and could not resist not even a little bit. It’s a perfect way to spend my beautiful day in the government housing I actually call home.  Further proof that a life of luxury and leisure is not impossible in the linden ghetto, I suppose.

I am determined to lounge and worship the sun all weekend. This swimsuit isn’t new, from Sn@tch, but is still one of my favorites.  I like a little classic modesty, what can I say?

It’s a long weekend for my avatar and I’ve got a new shop that got me beach ready in a hurry. Lacuna has released breezy maxi skirts and gorgeous toned bandeaux for sunning yourself on relaxing island days that are perfect as our thoughts turn to sunshine and the beach.

I’ve grabbed some older jewelry and accessories from Maxi Gossamer for relaxed, casual style and since the grid won’t let me change skin today, YAY another look at an older release from Belleza – AIKO.

The hair is Wasabi Pills and keeps my pixel neck from sweating.

4. The Disney Bound Challenge: I have no idea what the Disney Bound Challenge is. I can’t be bothered to look it up. BUT, this blogger has presented her look in a great classic and concise editorial style that completely caught my eye. The second photo of her stretching really made me smile, it’s an avatar in motion shot that seems to breathe life into her pixels and that always impresses me. I also really enjoy the way she features each item she is wearing at the end so you can see them. Nicely done.

So when I walked outside into the park near my house, in default lighting, I had this moment of realizing WOW that’s what this just looks like, without anything fancy, with nothing taxing the old graphics card – my setting was HIGH not ultra, and just the default region windlight.

It’s a testament to the quality of what I’m wearing I think, that everything skin, dress, hair etc doesn’t NEED a quick PS touch up to look pretty. If you buy these things, this is what you’re getting, without fail. No worry that I’ve changed the colors or the shape with little tweaks here or there to hide imperfections.

I think that’s great.

Another thing I’m here to share today is two of my favorite new things. The HUDS that make me beautiful.

I have been eyeballing this bedroom set from LAQ Decor for some time. And since it has been at least, oh, a week, since I ordered new furniture I decided WHAT the heck and clicked BUY on marketplace to have it delivered. I bought the PG version, because it was slightly cheaper – I believe it was around 999L and my husband is off in Azeroth so  I won’t need a sexy times bed.

The land impact is exquisite – 6! SIX LAND IMPACT PEOPLE – for the bed. Each side table is decorated in a femme way and they are three which is incredible.

It’s loaded with lots of animations in the PG version, sitting or sleeping and there is even an under the covers version. Plus sheets, cover, pillows and wood are all color change with a click. I’ve chosen pink today, who KNOWS what I’ll choose next. It was a much deserved splurge for an admittedly spoiled avatar.

I spent a very indulgent night in these covers, it was worth every penny.

If you aren’t a 20 something and you hearken back to your youth, you’ll remember that back in the day in the Peanuts cartoons, Snoopy was often working on his book. His book always begins “It was a dark and stormy night…”. What you might not know is that there is an entire, long running fiction contest centered around this premise – beginning terrible fiction with the phrase IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.

I actually once purchased a compendium of the Bulwer -Lytton contest entries and laughed for days reading it. It’s one of the seminal phrases in American faux literature, and when I rezzed Barnesworth Anubis new skybox for Collabor88 – my first thought was OMG IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.

With it’s classic European moulding detail, and beautiful windows letting in light and looking out across the rooftops of Paris (Which is different that Under the Roofs of Paris by Henry Miller which is TOTALLY NOT THE SAME AT ALL OMG NO) I have to confess that now I have to move house again.

Barnesworth Anubis has seduced me with yet another skybox. He’s quite seductive, did you ever read his profile? It’s not for the shy, or conservative. He even says quite publicly that he stays crunchy in milk.

If that doesn’t say LOVER AND SEDUCER, I don’t even know what does.

Paris for the summer, then? I don’t mind if I do.

I was taking some snaps as I had my breakfast this morning when I realized something amazing about my new skirt from BAIASTICE for The Boutique event that, THE INSIDE IS TEXTURED!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG! It looks crazy in photographs in certain poses and I never know when I’m going to suddenly have a huge invisible patch that causes me to throw away a photo.

There is always a lot of discussion about what’s good, what’s bad, what we want, what we don’t want in SL from creators and bloggers so I asked two questions yesterday to get a comprehensive compilation of some hot topics. I’ll remove the names because I don’t want to start mafia wars “OMG SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT MEEEEE” but you never know, maybe she was.

My first question was the negative. “What SL Fashion Trends Should Die?”

Digging through my inventory you might find a lot more items from Nomine that you’d imagine. Most of them are things I bought some time ago and the quality is too good for me to find a reason to trash outright.

Rooting through my giant closet though, I could not for the life of me remembering buying a skirt there. I was wrestling with something to wear to the Velvet this Sunday for Cajsa’s Jazz set, this week it was Latin Jazz and I figured if I got my look right I might make it a day of dancing. So I put on this skirt and had that instant moment of being transported back.

Flashback two years at my five year rez day party at Rouge. Munchflower, who is the owner of Nomine was there and she handed me this little skirt as a rez day present. It hadn’t been a very good month, and this huge party at Rouge and the outpouring of friendship, some from folks I only knew a little, pushed me onward and made unhappy days happy.

I thought mesh + system + prim might be a fun way to celebrate where fashion has been and where it’s going. And just to prove, there is a reason why I never clean my inventory. I’d lose gems that remind me of such amazing and happy days.

And now if you’ll excuse me, this clubbing girl has to hit the shower and get to work.

I chose a bare makeup from Pink Fuel because I really wanted to show off what amazing about this creation vs an already glammed up skin.

First of all there are great eye colors to choose from, whether you prefer grey scale or pink sclera there is something fr you. I chose a pink tone eye for fun. At the bottom you see you can add a “contact” over your eye, so for fun I chose one.

It adds a bit of texture and gives a unique look to your eye. I chose the one on the far right. I’m also wearing the very most BASIC lashes that you can add. You can see they are very understated and lovely.

As you can see in the VISIBILITY tab – you can control which aspects of the Protagoniste Vanity  system you want displayed. I just chose “Extra lashes”. BAM. Lashes!

Next I added DIAMONDS to see what that would do. These are very pretty for nightclub looks or evening out fun. They are beautifully done. I wore them around a while and didn’t ever get that weird fading out thing that some (Read more...)

1. Last Chance: Wedding Season is upon us in both worlds. I thought the little purse was a lovely touch. I used to wear wedding dresses to combat role play sims. True story. I wonder why I’ve always struggled with role play?

2. Jewelry and Nail Polish: In the category of THESE ARE EVERYTHING are new rings and polish from STELLAR. Lexi Morgan always gets props from me for being a creator who bothers to blog her new releases. Great release Lexi, everything is lovely.

3. Daydream: Morgan Kincess perfectly captures a black and white celluloid mood with this snapshot. I expect her avatar has a gangster boyfriend with a heart of gold.

4. Second Spaces – Likes the Sushi: Home and furniture blogs rule my world (rather than women like Prince’s world) right after girly fashion ones. Second Spaces routinely produces great shots with decorating ideas as well as featuring new releases. If you don’t watch this blog, you should.

Sock and hose together? I don’t care I do what I want! Bag doesn’t match shoes? I don’t care, I do what I want!

I had Eric Cartman in my mind as I put on my gacha prizes from The Chapter Four, yeah I’m still going on about that. I like taking all the gacha things and then wearing them all together. It’s like a sport to me.

The bag from Attic doesn’t come with bag hold poses scripted into it, but hey it’s gacha so I’m not actually complaining. But it’s important to some people so I mention it. Shoulder bags can be tough to pose around between your boobs and your arm jamming into what you’re wearing and the bag.  It’s easier when their have poses in them designed to work but even then though they don’t always because of shape variations + mesh.

A:S:S (Another Shirt Store) has also been releasing GORGEOUS MESH NAIL APPLIERS for SLINK mesh nails. I’m wearing the black tipped from the BLACK DRAMA set and the name made me LOL.

They are a steal at 97L !

Ever since they started the migration away from Magic Boxes, your Marketplace Shopping Experience has MOST LIKELY improved. I’m not saying you won’t find the freebie sex orb  of dubious quality, or someone just selling a landmark for their shop for zero but hey at least it’s zero. I long for the days when people sold pine boxes and listed them as “a box for your stuff”. Those were heady days of online pixel shopping.

I am 98% sure someone I know found this first. It was Sylvia or Shayariel or some other more industrious blogger than I. I forget who. But, as I was scooching through Marketplace idly, I was like OMG DOG IN A BAG FOR FREE!

And the bag is color change. So, that’s about as good as it gets, to me. If the dog would bark and annoy others, or like emote stuff into chat “Mommy I want a doggy treat! bark bark bark!” to annoy others, that’d be even better.

I’m a jerk like that.

Other good things to share today, include my clothes which are from Somnia, one of my favorite designers for great casual looks. She’s releasing these for the 100 block event  at Depraved Nation. You don’t even have to be depraved to go, I swear.

I wanted new poses that would flatter my mesh nails, and so I made one then two then three and I was like oh I might as well make a set, then I was like oh I might as well release them because other people have mesh nails they might like them.

My pose store has been closed for months, I might reopen. I might reopen casually. I might not. I’m considering all of these things.

I made my poses to work with my SLINK mesh nail enhancements.  Not the full hands mind you, these are just mesh nails. I use the anim version of them. I find that it works better for me when posing. Not all poses work well with mesh nails, but these do. I also tested them with my Leverocci nails and had no issue.

I now have about 100 ideas of other poses to compliment and show off nails, so, yeah, I guess I’m open.

2. Elysium Hynes on Pinterest: She’s a pinning machine for SL things. This isn’t so much a blog post for your perusal as something to favorite so you can quickly catch up on sale events and what’s new. Elysium is a marvel at getting things posted. I use her for lots of events shopping so I can make my shopping list before I go.

3. I Don’t Want To Be A Fashion Blogger: I nearly cried laughing at Whiskey Monday’s take on trying to do a fashion post. Yeah, she’s on two days in a row. Everyone else – step it up.

4. Demented Diva LIGHT: A Solitary portrait caught my eye because of the hat. It’s a nice concise, yet personally warm post, I enjoyed reading it and I don’t know if I’ve ever read her before. You should have a look.

HANDverk has released a set of post modern moulded furniture that would be perfect for a vagrant pixel Auntie Mame to terrify suburbanites with.

I’m showing off my favorite piece in the collection right now, a sofa nee chaise fitted with multiple sits and easy adjusting to keep your arms out of the sides.

I will be showing off the entire set soon but I wanted to pair this piece with the avant garde complete outfit I picked up at Black Haus White Market on Lazy Sunday. Lazy Sunday still one of my fave sale days, thanks for keeping it going.

My nails are SO two days ago, from FLAIR where you can get more nails than you can shake a stick at, to color your SLINK mesh nails. I always wear the ones marked ANIM and they move perfectly with my poses. It’s magic.

The hair isn’t a new release but it’s from Amacci, whom I consider to be a staple of quality releases.  You should pop over there if you haven’t been in a while.

A:S:S (that’s Another Shirt Store) has released a set of their Lazy A:S:S pajamas for Lazy Sunday in special colors and if it’s rainy and cloudy in your second existence as it is in mine, you’ll be glad of them to snuggle up into.

Is that coffee cannister right? I don’t even know. Every time I rezz it that’s all it does. Shrug. Seems wrong.

After fueling with coffee and sugar I decided to play a little WoW, just to relax and kill things for a while. Usually play WoW right before bed is a bad idea for me, I have trouble sleeping and relaxing however…

The Lab did a partnership with Amazon.com  a few weeks ago for a “free pet” family – the Troobles. It was free – you just had to click buy and it was delivered magically to your inventory.

I do like pets.

The first set I rezzed were possessed by the devil himself, I say this because of their soulless eyes. But there was an updater and the second set did in fact NOT have demon eyes. I consider this a plus.

I got a mama, a papa and two babies. You can click on them for advice as well. Apparently, sharing sunglasses makes you go blind. I did not know this. THANK YOU TROOBLES!

Alas though, a crawling baby and three cats didn’t leave a lot of room from these erstwhile quadruped roombas so, I did what any responsible pixel pet owner would do.

I set them free.

BE FREE LITTLE TROOBLES! Run away to mainland and populate! Someone needs to live there!

I must’ve taken about 20 pics in the new WinxBox for this month’s My Attic event. It’s one of my favorite sales as they do such a nice job of keeping it fresh.

1. Owlfit 336: Despite her pics being bigger than they are supposed to be for the feed – they are cute pics so I forgive her.  I love the sassy look, a cute casual out and about on a hot day styling. I want to go to this cafe and order pie now.

2. Elfis: Caduceus Lorakeet never fails to provide striking images and interesting styling. Also I like your last alternate title best. That gets my vote.

3.121 Ok so this one isn’t out and about but I love it anyway. I’m going to say she’s going shoppping because of her bag. So there. I love her eclectic styling and how it’s subtly perfect together.

4. Beach Garden Party: I want to go to this party that Sophee Mojo is putting on. I miss parties in SL and this really makes me love the idea of having a beach party. Linden land needs a beach.

5. You Knew I Loved You: Sophia Harlow is having a picnic in Cheeky Pea’s new pergola which is stunning. I love the lighting of this picture and how understated the props are, it speaks to end of the day after a long day outside. It’s a great shot and the new flip flops from GOS look great.

Second Life is a fantasy world for us all. I’m perfectly thin, I’m blonde again (the color of my childhood hair). My house is never messy and and I can simply log out when I’m annoyed.

It’s a shame then that awesome events like Fantasy Faire sometimes get looked at like “oh if I don’t have elf ears or cloven hooves it’s not for me.”

That’s wrong.  Fantasy is what you make it. There is SO much that’s amazing that slips little bits of wonder even into the wardrobe of a Barbie Girl like me.

I’ve added the doll jacket from Lassitude & Ennui for Fantasy Faire to this vintage Barbie look inspired by new releases by Ingenue and Baiastice. I’m layering mesh which is a pain in the ass. Gidge is normally a small or medium depending on the creator. I’ve put the doll jacket on in size L to make it work. It’s not anything the creators are doing wrong, it’s just that to layer properly, you have to size up as you add on top.

The new Jean shoes from Baiastice are awesome retro throwbacks with socks to boot, and a hud to change out the sock color. PERFECT pairing with this look.

I picked up the 1L fatpack UFFIE from Faenzo, a new hair creator who is at My Attic the Deck this month I think? I haven’t been over there to check out regular releases from them.  The 1L price is a getting to know you release. I picked the bottle blondish tone because, retro.

The RL conspired to keep me off the grid most of the weekend. Which is just as well because RL>SL yet, I missed my virtual piece of sanity. So I enjoyed wrapping up my Sunday evening with a little relaxation in my new Lazy Ass Pajamas from A:S:S – literally Pho – the grid needs more pajamas that don’t make you look like a 20 dollar hooker. Well done.

Alice Project has released new hair, which after fiddling with the hud and getting his color combo it put me in the mind of Jean Lynnette, one of those friends of the family that is basically LIKE family.

I lived with her one summer while I was teaching low brass at a local high school marching band over in Brazil, Indiana. She lived in a double wide and graciously allowed me to crash in her extra room.

I never saw anyone in my life primp and preen like Jean Lynnette. Every day after a long hot day in the sun, when ALL I wanted was a shower I would come in and find her doing her nails, doing her hair, having a face mask, having another face mask, doing her eyebrows, waxing her legs. ETC ETC ETC. This seemed excessive for someone who didn’t date or even ever go out.

My friend Sasy introduced me to the new mesh nails from SLINK as she knows I’m in love with the giant freak hands the regular avatar comes with, but also love Mesh nails. I was absolutely taken back in time with the set of retro furniture released by Barnesworth Anubis for Collabor88.

My own Uncle George, the mecca of style and culture from my childhood, owned almost EXACTLY this furniture.

He’d designed and built a house, with a proper formal double parlour. One half of the room was southwestern, with lots of amazing things from his trips to Mexico displayed all over. The other half though, was this amazing post modern blue and white SQUARE funiture.

Paired with bleached blonde wood (allegedly from Sweden) he even had a blonde piano in that half of the room. The furniture was leather, but felt like glossy plastic. As though someone had made furniture out of patent leather shoes, yet it was in fact true leather. He polished it every week with a special product he had shipped in from somewhere.

This wasn’t lounging furniture. This was sitting up properly and visiting after dinner furniture. Or receiving guests furniture. Or listening to the piano being played furniture.

The animals WERE NOT allowed on the furniture.

I suppose that accounts for my small rebellion above. I hope he forgives me.

So because of Barnesworth Anubis, I had a stroll down memory lane. It made me a little teary and a little happy.  I wish I had that damn furniture now.

1. The Blues-Ish The gradient blue in this picture caught my eye immediately. I love FreeStyle and still use it as a catalog of places to shop that provide quality free or inexpensive items.

2. Beautiful Life:  I only like poses that appear to be mid-motion. I’m weird like that. Sam Laszlo’s post has some great pics that truly look like avatars caught mid-joy. Love the looks too.

3.Gedenspired: I love everything about this styling. It’s a great example of being nontraditional while still paying homage to classic looks. Most people fail at pulling that off, this has made my shopping list for the day. Well done.

4. Catch My Breath:  There is no debating that Alicia is a veteran blogger who consistently takes beautiful pictures.  I love this one cuz she looks like Tracy Lourdes when she was in CRY BABY. NO REALLY SHE DOES GO LOOK!

5. The Belle: The styling on this post is flawless. The concept is to be blogging modern, southern belle style. Forget everything you ever saw on those ridiculous Real Housewives shows, those ladies never actually met a Belle. This is spot on, as a matter of fact this makes me think I need a hat.
