The Attic

Once I started taking these pictures, it reminded me of old vacation pics I saw once of my Great Grandmother.  Decided to go with that and make a collage type thing with all four of the poses and basically just have some fun with it.
The Deck is having an event called The Attic.  This months theme is 1955-1960, so there are a lot of great retro items available for only 95L.  I got way more than these, but just wanted to show them off for this blog.  There is a Flickr group with all of the ad photos, you can find hair (the hair in the pics is from Exile and is also at the Attic) skin, clothing, accessories and poses.  I also got this fabulous Maitreya mesh dress, but I've seen it blogged a few times already.  Its great though, so make sure you check it out as well.
The Attic runs from March 21st to the 31st so you've got about a week to snatch up all these amazing deals!  Head on down and buy all the things

Over the past weeks a few things have happened that made me toy with the idea of taking a different direction in my usual style.  I’ve been blogging fashion for almost 4 years. In the past 2 I’ve tried to gravitate toward a style that was more “acceptable” in the mainstream fashion community. As mesh fashion becomes more and more popular, I find that I’m giving up more of what I like and what is Lourdes in order to fit in.  So, I’m taking a step away from all that and taking a detour. I’m going to experiment in a different style. Don’t get me wrong I love mesh; hair, shoes, eyes, lashes and various accessories. When it comes to clothes, I’ll be far more discriminating. After all we wear the clothes, the clothes shouldn’t wear us.

Male Fashion-Claudius Fouroux

It’s been a while since I’ve done a male fashion post on my blog so I thought I should bring it back with a bang by introducing you to one of the sexiest men in my friend list. I’ve known Mr. Claudius Fouroux for a few years now and I cannot say that I have ever seen him look anything but completely drool worthy. He may look like a gorean master to you in this post, however, he’s one of the most brilliant male stylists I’ve seen on the grid. Every time I have seen him he always has a completely new look that he’s been playing around with. My favorite was when he had his dreadlocks, I was just swooning! I wish I had taken a pic back then. Rumor has it that Mr. Fouroux is quite the ladies man, although I haven’t really seen anything to back up that, but I thought I should mention it in any case to make this post more scandalous. Sorry Claud, but you knew I was gonna throw you under the bus when you signed up for this!… Read the restClaudius Fouroux

Sleeping Beauty

Over on SLU, they have a thread called Shops with Flair that I occasionally look at to find new stores. This time, I hoped over to Frozen Nights which offers a wide array of items from fairies to coffins. The Glass Coffin (which you can buy with different colored roses) comes with two person poses, three each. The ones in the coffin itself are two static and one movement. Someday, I’ll ‘sucker’ a friend into posing dead with me so I can find out what the other poses are! Credits: Exodi Isolde Vivante 33

This month has been so busy, not just with events in sl but also with new shops sending me blogger packs that I have and will continue to show of, those shops being: Geometry, {bilo}, CoLLisions, 22769 and Dare Designs, this has helped me a lot in blogging since not only do I have more to play with in my pictures, but I also have more variety, and most of it already associated with amazing events I already cover. The Blogrun of feeds also slowly grows with more entries as I apply the blog to them, and spend more time checking feeds myself. I keep trying to cover as many events as possible including some hunts like i did this month to The Twisted Hunt, The Steam Hunt and last week and over the next The Home and Garden Market Hunt. I do try and keep up with hunts as best as possible, but as you see it is impossible to covert only 1% of all the ones in the grid. I´ve been Also in the Luna Jubilee´s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, and probably doing a few more. Next month I plan to keep covering my favourite monthly events like COLLABOR88, The Dressing Room, The Dressing Blue, The Gallery Gift Shop, Flux and the new My Attic.… Read the rest

Bike Night

One of the best things about Second Life is the ability to go on wacky dates that you wouldn’t normally be able to do in your real life.  A good example?  How about an Egyptian pyramid maze by bicycle?  Snakes, crumbling walkways, alligator infested waters, and much more awaited us on our little adventure.  You can find the maze, and a lot of really awesome stuff at the sim Kalepa. Last night, Ark and I had the opportunity to hang out with our friend’s Jett and Kat.  It’s always a great time when we get to spend some time with them, and last night was one of those fun carefree nights that always lead to some adventure. Really, I wanted to keep this post short and sweet today and point out these amazing bikes from What Next.  Jett kindly found them for us, and they really made our evening a lot of fun.  The bikes come with some great details, and fun animations.  You just wear them, turn your AO off, and voila! Hope y’all have a great Thursday!… Read the rest

My Attic @ The Deck – Summer Abroad 1955-1960

Last night The Deck started an event called My Attic. The event was something we had been tossing around back and forth for the past year, due to the theme having to be special to us to follow through with. The concept is My Attic, a place where one can store memories, from the past, some that may become memories of the future, as well as an exploration into peoples lives and imagination. The My Attic concept also lead the way to coming up with sub-themes, a theme within a theme if you will. The first theme within is “Summer Abroad 1955-1960″ and the designers that have been a part of this first event came up with some incredible items for it. I am so lucky to have such incredible designers as a part of The Deck sim, and we also were blessed to have two Special Guests as part of the event as well, Exile and Chelle. The list of designers is as follows and all items for the duration are 95L . There are so many amazing things, that I do hope you can stop by and check it out.… Read the restMy Attic 1
