Easter Egg Hunt item preview – no foolin’!

So here's the scoop: Starting tonight at midnight (Friday, April 1), ten damask eggs will be hidden throughout the three floors of our Caledon Oxbridge Village main store through the end of the month.

Each egg will contain a 10L clothing/accessory item, all of which coordinate into two outfits!

These items also coordinate with our specially priced 100L Avril (April) ball gown!

A personal note: April is a special month for me because it's my birthday month and the one year anniversary of my mastectomy surgery.

In appreciation of the support of my patrons and friends in SL during the past year, I'm celebrating my recovery from breast cancer with this special event. I hope you'll stop in and join in on the fun!

And for those who have grabbed the faun, I have gotten tons of request for a black fur faun, and I will be working on that in the next week ;)

The promises we make
without our voices
are simple, honest and deep. The promises we make
without our voices
are where we live
when there's no other place to go or be.The promises we make

are the first to be made
and the last to be broken. The promises we make

Pale Courtesan

This week’s color of white came together in a flurry of ruffles and lace, pearls and roses. The SL Fantasy Faire 2011 begins on April 2 and goes through the 10th and is sure to feature some awesome fantasy fashion, including the new items from Lassitude & Ennui. Jackal has made some stunning items for the faire including these boots and this jewelry, featuring comprehensive HUD’s to customize their colors and details. The Flora boots and Ophelia jewelry have such an old-fashioned romantic quality to them, are really lovely and sweet. L&E will have several new shoes on offer at the Faire and I predict that anyone will find something to love there. These boots are so gorgeous, I literally gasped when I unpacked them, they’re so my style, hehe, just lovely with the pearl buttons, lace trim, Victorian shape and the fabric panels on the sides are such a nice touch and they too are color change, just an amazing job from Jackal! Visit Lassitude & Ennui at the Fantasy Faire 2011 on the Nemo Revisited sim to check out her new designs.… Read the rest

Hungry? Or The Other Thing?

Some time ago, Sileny & I were talkin' about how with some things, it's hard to tell if they make you hungry or, um, the other thing. Here's a pic to better illustrate this point.
I would provide a SLurl if I could find it, however I have no idea where I shot this pervy/breakfasty/bacon toasty goodness pic! The antennae do add a li'l somethin' extra, tho'.

*Mwuahs* to Gavin McGinnis for um, massaging my um . . . tender yolks? *runs away shamefaced*

(who agrees with Sileny that this pic is def more pervy)

Hunts and stuffs

First of all, I want to thank all of you who came to my Grand Opening!  I really appreciate it! <3  Even though my Grand Opening is over, the Sale is not! I decided to keep the sale going until April 3.

In other news, I will be participating in the Unknown Hunt, which starts on April 1 and goes thru April 31. Starting location is here.  My hunt prize for this hunt is the Tozzo Bookcase Table. It comes with all the shown accessories. Use it as a bookcase, a coffee table or an end table, but you'll only be able to get it during this hunt.

The stylish men of SL are probably already well-versed (get it–poet, versed? haha) in the lovely little shop Mr. Poet, but my poor neglected male alt Kamino was not, until recently. I went to the Help Japan event where Mr. Poet has a very nice white shirt & skinny scarf and that purchase started my alts new obsession with all things Mr.Poet. They have such skill in combining texture and primwork to make some really outstanding clothes, and I was so pleased to find some of the kind of foppish/visual kei flair there as well. Their clothes matched up extremely well with this new hairstyle from the superlative Sadistic Hacker and I topped off the look with Gos’ new amazing eyeglasses. I had some fun spoiling my poor neglected alt and I hope to let him make regular appearances here on the blog. (pic 1) shirt/scarf: Mr.Poet, white shirt, slim scarf (pic 2) skin: CheerNo, Venus Asian

the Fool

Have you ever wanted to do something crazy, or out of your realm but didn't because you were afraid of what the outcome would be?  Or maybe you were concerned with what others would think or *gasp*, "what if I embarrassed myself?"

What if you could do the above without consequences?  Or to put it more simply, what if you could do the one thing you always wanted to do without over planning, over thinking or overanalyzing?  Just go with the flow, step off the cliff and accept whatever comes your way.

I became interested in the tarot many years ago.  I can still remember getting my first deck, the Rider Waite, and being amazed at how all the colors and symbols seemed to come alive and pop off the cards.  I don't use the Tarot for fortune telling rather more as a way to see a situation more clearly much like someone might use praying or meditating to sort through things. And yes, I do read for other people.

The Fool has always been one of my favorites (although I tend to say that about all 78 cards).… Read the rest

Calypson Batik by salt.

My tulips have poked their heads above the earth. Spring has sprung. And I need pretty new stuffs. \o/ I found this beautiful soft silk dress at salt. The pastel print with a touch of gold is elegant and perfect for any occasion. The sculpted skirt with its charming hemline flows smoothly from the top and hugs my curves beautifully. Did I mention I love the print? salt. is fast becoming one of my favorite stores. I need everything Tammany Goodliffe creates. One visit, and you’ll be hooked too. Dress: Calypson Batik by salt.

Stitch Me Happy

On 28th March 2011 · By Boudica Destiny · With Leave a comment
In Fashion, Second Destiny, Second Life
When I heard that Aria Therin had released some new things in her shop Stitch, I rushed over to Harvest Moon to see for myself. Here's what I found... and just in time for the warmer weather!

I instantly fell in love with her cute summery sundress "Talia", and its pretty crochet accents.
If you haven't heard of Stitch yet, it's because Aria has been working hard behind the scenes to help bring the Harvest Moon sim to life, and has also been working on her other store, Therin Homes.
The second dress, Ella, puts me in a summery mood, ready to hit the beach!  I've paired it with the sweet "Jewel" sandals from Coriander.  Just love these.  Stitch is sure to be a hothouse of talent, and so far, you can find some ultra cute summery dresses, pants and bathing suits.  Go see!

Next is the ultra-cute "Miss Black Cherry" dress by My Lolita with cute Mary Jane shoes and socks included. I just love how fun this outfit is!  I would have taken a pic of the great corset and victorian bloomers, but my graphics card was acting up.  You'll just have to trust me that they're gorgeous!… Read the rest

Theft (confession), dentists and bookshelves

I don't recommend having jaw pain sending you through the roof in a town where there appears to be no emergency dentist at weekends.

No, not fishing for sympathy. Not quite climbing up walls today (ah, pharmaceutical goodness how I love thee). But this happened after a trip to the dentist for one of those 'no no it won't hurt' things.

Moving on to theft, I was reading battered interior decoration magazines in the waiting room, and saw something like this...

... so I made it.

(The little row of lights and the bonsai are separate. The books come with the bookshelf.)

Go on, splurge on all three for a massive 3L. Being mod/copy you can use the books elsewhere, of course.

In the Vent du Sud mainstore.

(5 prims for the bookshelf, 3 for the 3 x 1-prim books. 7 for the lights, 4 for the bonsai and candle and why yes the candles work look at the smoke).

I often think in prims, see ('hmmm could do that in six, or four if I use a sculpt' ... followed by three hours on the marketplace to find a sculpt, which is not delivered, contact vendor, wait, vendor resends, marketplace version shows up, both as I go to bed.… Read the rest
