ia ora na Nanihi

In my many travels through SL I've met people from nearly every continent. It's amazing how far-reaching this social network really is. Often I find that the visual representation I see and the person behind the keyboard are very different, however. This is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, this is one of the beauties of SL. Our avatars can be anything we want them to be. This is our chance to live out our fantasies! What is the slogan? "Your world, your imagination!"

But I see a lack of diversity among my fellow SL denizens considering how many different countries are represented. I don't know why this is so. There could be very good reasons for it. It could be socioeconomic, it could be access, it could be lack of exposure - who knows.

But in creating shapes for ATIA CREATIONS I have felt inspired to offer diversity for those who want to be more closely aligned with who they are in RL, or for those who would like to experience an entirely new world!

One of the regions of the globe I felt has been under represented are the Pacific Islands. Because I do a fair amount of research when I develop a new character I thought it would be fun to create a Tahitian beauty. This way I could immerse myself in the French Polynesian culture and thus take a virtual vacation in doing so :) It was great fun (the pictures are breathtaking) and the resulting model is my latest beauty, Nanihi. I hope you like her - she's gotten very positive reactions so far!
