Chicanery occasionally does a mystery box prize. oh, how I love thee mystery box prize. It's been a really long time since they did one so I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did they do a new mystery box but that it had food in it!There is a cute mouth treat and a box for your hand. Of course they are not called Peeps because that would be ya know copyright or whatever but these chicks are awesome! The mouth one is perfectly sculpted and it has a little animation you can toggle on and off that is adorable.

Go grab them at Chicanery!

Dress: Ivalde

Spring has sprung with the new Daisybrella

What's better than walking around with a giant flower as an umbrella? Having two types of daisies spiral out and blow around you in the wind! Our newest umbrella offering features these elements, as well as lovely sculpted leaves and color change petals to match any outfit. This creation is very joyous - everyone we know who's seen it seems to have their spirits uplifted a little. We certainly enjoyed making it! :)

WILD.Released Stamp Hunt

Have you heard about WILD.Released yet? If not, allow me to illuminate you. I've just gone through my store and included stamp cards in some of my vendors. If you buy one of the marked items, you'll be able to redeem the card you get for an item only available as a prize for this event. All you need to do is go around to the stores that are participating and collect their store stamps. You can even do a bunch of cards at once! There are twelve of us participating, including my fabulous friends from TRAP, silent sparrow, Evie's Closet, Schadenfreude... the list goes on. Every prize is worth it, and you won't want to miss them. Here's a peek at mine :D

This item won't be available in the store, you can only get it through redeeming a fully stamped WILD.Released card at Moonsong. And if you think your mind is already made up, you haven't seen the other prizes.

The cards are available now, but stamping begins on March 20th. Hold on to them until then! And if you're still a little unclear about how the whole thing works, there's more information on the WILD.Released blog :)

Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

Even if you don't really care or wish to celebrate it, if you're favorite color is green St. Paddy's day rocks for freebies. I don't wish to be an exception, and so I passed out a St. Paddy's Day bowler to the folks who wish to be hatted!

While you're wearing it, you can be the one doing the pinching. *peench peench*

Don't get too wasted, otherwise you'll go to hell and burn for a thousand years, and then they'll take you out and flip you over for another thousand. You'll make the holy mother cry if you sleep with a protestant while you're intoxicated. There, that's some authentic Catholic guilt for you.

Ovis Horns

On 15th March 2010 · By Siyu · With Leave a comment
In Illusions, Second Life · Tags
My collection of horns has a glaring omission. I've been missing a truly spectacular pair of ram's horns that makes you want to reach out and touch them. I'm lucky enough to have touched a wild mountain goat's horns (they were very comfortable around tourists, no I didn't feed it) and I wasn't willing to release something that didn't remind me of that warm dry roughness under my fingertips. I was finally able to evoke that memory :)

I had a very specific vision in mind for how I wanted the texture to be, the amount of shine, the delicate ripples, the bumps and crags and cracks and roughness while still having a polished health to them. It took me forever, carefully modeling the high definition horn to follow the ripples and growth rings of a real horn, adding bumps and wear and tear on them and then finding the right amount of shine, but I finally did it. And now that I've made the perfect pair of ram's horns, I might as well make a few more!

Ovis Nivicola is the "snow sheep" of Siberia, and theyhave beautifully curved horns that frame their faces.… Read the rest

Clothing Fair Teasers from *FakE*

So, I forgot to start this earlier, but today and tomorrow I’ll be posting ad shots for new items that will be released at the RFL Clothing Fair, March 13-21, on the New Delhi sim (sharing a stall with Fantasia). Inara Medievalism Dress-Taking some concepts from the medieval dresses I usually make, this is a short minidress with brocaded corset details and an off-the-shoulder neckline.  Available in 6 colors, only at the Clothing Fair. Haida Tunic Top-If anyone took a close look at the Vancouver medals, the iconic artwork of the northwest coast natives was etched into them.  Taking a cue from this, these tunic length tanks feature similar artwork graphics.  Available in 5 animal designs. Remember, this is all going to be released at the Clothing Fair, so save the date!

A Green Sale for St. Patrick’s Day

Just for fun, Montagne Noire announces a special St. Patrick's sale - all regular priced green clothing is 50% off now through Wednesday, March 17!

This sale is taking place **ONLY** at our Caledon Oxbridge Village main store:

Green being one of my favorite colors, you'll find that there are several dresses on sale, from 100L to 175L.

Also included are three Le Petit girls dresses and a mens suit on the second floor.

The sale also includes some winterwear accessories in our seasonal section on the third floor.

And don't forget to visit the clearance section, where last year's promo St. Patricks Day ball gown is reduced to just 20L!

While you are shopping, be sure to check out the Steam Hunt display as you enter the shop. More than 100 Victorian and Steampunk merchants are participating in this month long event (including Montagne Noire), and from what I've seen there are some amazing items to be had.

Role Play Collection: La Danseuse saloon girl dress!

I have a bit of catching up to do, so you may see a flurry of new posts. Thank you for your patience.

Recently arrived at Montagne Noire in our "Role Play Collection" -- "La Danseuse" (French, "the dancer"), a rich striped velveteen gown with a feather hairpiece, designed for the role player who wishes to portray a Victorian Old West era saloon girl.

In ruby red and sapphire blue, the costume's undergarments feature interchangable "briefs" and bloomers, as well as black fishnet stockings, depending upon the type of entertaining you are doing...!

*ahem*

The costumes retail for 250L and are available at our Caledon main store, in the new arrivals room to your right as you enter the shop.

Illusions @ Accessory Fair 2010

On 7th March 2010 · By Siyu · With Leave a comment

I'm in the Accessory Fair which is kicking off this weekend, hosted by Glance. It features other designers like myself who fit into the "other" category of what you can wear on your avatar, and will be going until the 27th of March.

I wanted to have something new released especially for it, but most of my projects weren't anywhere near ready. I found there was something simple I'd been wanting to do and just lacked the timing, so I took the opportunity :)

Sometimes I'm in the mood for the primmy splendor and display of the original Orinthia, but sometimes I want to have a simple pendant that's still romantic and feminine. Orinthia Puro is the reconciliation of those two moods, and if I'd known it looked this good on its own I might not have bothered with the frustration of dealing with all of those chains! In fact, I think it even brings out the lines and delicacy of the pendant better. But after all that work on the original, I'd rather offer this as an option instead of a replacement.… Read the rest
